Council Requires Verizon to Get Certification from DoD and FAA that 5G Won’t Interfere with Avionics Equipment

By B.N. Frank

American 5G opposition continues to increase because of concerns about property value, health and environmental risks (see 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8), and numerous safety threats (see 1, 2, 3).  It’s even been the topic of several Dilbert cartoons.

Now one New Jersey borough is requiring certain conditions before Verizon can install it.

From 5G Crisis:

Lavallette, NJ Borough Council Stands Tall Against Verizon 5G

On Tuesday, January 19th, the Lavallette, NJ Borough Council voted to approve five separate 5G-enabled “small cell” wireless antenna installations with challenging conditions to which Verizon attorney, Greg Meese, objected. The two primary conditions are as follows:

1) Verizon must obtain certification from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration and the U.S. Department of Defense that its facilities will not interfere with critical avionics equipment utilized by military and civilian aircrafts.

2) Verizon cannot install more than a total of 20 “small cell” nodes throughout the Borough to support 5G networks.

Such conditions are projected to stall in the 5G installation process indefinitely.

Lavallette, a tiny beachfront community on the Jersey Shore, is uniquely situated just 20 miles from one of the country’s most active and important military air bases, Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst.

Council members cited a recent report published in Defense News that states:

“…5G telecommunications systems in the 3.7–3.98 GHz band will cause harmful interference to radar altimeters on all types of civil aircraft—including commercial transport airplanes; business, regional, and general aviation airplanes; and both transport and general aviation helicopters. The results of the study performed clearly indicate that this risk is widespread and has the potential for broad impacts to aviation operations in the United States, including the possibility of catastrophic failures leading to multiple fatalities, in the absence of appropriate mitigations.”

In 2019, telecom executives gave U.S. congressional testimony that they had NO independent scientific evidence that 5G exposure is safe.  There is research that has indicated it is NOT SAFE.  The majority of scientists worldwide oppose deployment.

Cities worldwide AND entire countries have taken action to ban, delay, halt, and limit 5G installation AS WELL AS issue moratoriums due to health, safety, environmental and economic risks.  High speed internet is achievable, safer, and more secure with a hard-wired internet connection – not 5G or WiFi.  According to telecom experts, Americans have already paid to have it already (see 1, 2).

A petition boycotting 5G phones has also been endorsed by doctors, scientists, and industry whistleblowers.  Americans opposed to 5G are encouraged to sign a petition asking President Biden and Vice President Harris to stop deployment.
