Free Range Parents Cleared: CPS Declares Kids Playing Outside Alone is Not Neglect

By Activist Post

Police and Child Protective Services in Maryland twice removed the Meitiv children, 10 and 6, from their parents for child endangerment because they played alone at a nearby park.

The generation that grew up as latchkey kids is now being called “free range” parents if they let their children play outside unattended. And they’re being charged with neglect.

Today it’s being reported that CPS has cleared parents Danielle and Sasha Meitiv of a second case of neglect. They were cleared of wrongdoing in their first case less than a month ago.

No harm ever befell the children except when they were kidnapped by overzealous authorities and kept away from their loving parents.

Due to the outrage caused by this case, the Maryland Department of Human Resources was forced to issue a new statewide policy stating “children walking or playing outside alone is not neglect and does not warrant the intervention unless the children are in danger or at risk.”

  1. why live in america, it is a nazi country now, leave america and find a another place to live, my suggestion, go south way south

    • If there were really any place that was a better place to live, but there is not. All of those places limit the right to arms, which means the people are under total control of the government with almost no chance of being able to do anything against a tyrannical state. All are more socialist that the US. There is really no escape. We need to make plans to make our stand here. If the US falls, this will truly be a prison planet.

  2. They need to lower our taxes and get rid of free range government workers with nothing to do.

  3. The only things we have to fear are: politicians, Nanny Land, and Big Brother.

  4. Forced em to use “common sense” huh??

Imagine what goes through the minds of the kids. They’ll carry this with them for the rest of their lives: being snatched off the streets by “Authorities” and held in strange institutional surroundings without any rational explanation. You can bet when the time comes to stand up and be counted they’ll maintain a very low, very paranoid profile.

I and nearly every child I knew growing up was “free range.” I’m sure we all turned out terrible, but I don’t imagine having adult supervision every minute of the day would’ve done much more than make us all completely neurotic (the grown-ups, as well).
