Transition Towns: Agenda 21 Comes to Life

Susanne Posel, Contributor
Activist Post

Transition towns are a movement modeled after the UN’s Agenda 21 to create communities that adhere to initiatives that center around reducing CO2 emissions.

Under the alarmist perspective of man-made climate change, founders Rob Hopkins and Naresh Giangrande created the Transition Model based on studies conducted by Ben Brangwyn on global relocalization agendas.

At an initial Transition Bristol meeting in the UK, the Tudor Trust began funding this initiative. This led to the creation of the Transition Initiatives Primer, an explanatory guide to the scheme and fake grassroots groups who coerced communities into adopting the plan.

Transition Initiatives were created in Australia, Canada, England, Germany, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Scotland, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, USA, and Wales. Training courses have been developed to ensure that this ideal becomes a global movement.

Issues under Transition Initiatives governance are food production, manipulation techniques in dealing with local governments, sustainable housing, reduction of public energy consumption, adaptation of communities to resemble transition cities and control over local economies.

A propaganda film entitled In Transition 1.0 was produced with the global audience in mind, giving more credence to this UN takeover of our local communities.

Groups like the West Coast Environmental Law (WCEL) have been pushing for Transition Towns for several years. In British Columbia alone, they have begun to take root in Victoria, Vancouver, Nelson, Salt Spring, Powell River and the Cowichan Valley.

The Green CommunitiesProgram has helped spread the propaganda of SmartGrowth ideology through SmartGrowth BCand the SmartGrowth Bylaws Guide a marketing tract on British Columbia bylaws that support UN Agenda 21.

The dangers that Transition Towns impose on our sovereignty and individuality are:
  • Refocus town planning and infrastructure on implementation of Agneda 21.
  • Appear to be grassroots operations.
  • Promote the Peak Oil mythology as an energy scare-tactic.
  • Support SmarthGrowth which is code for Agenda 21.
  • Aspire to control framing, disburse ability to farm, and pressure governmental policies on farming that reflect Agenda 21.
  • Use the hoax of man-made climate change as the purpose for imposing policy control by building cities that are designed to reduce carbon emissions.
  • Securitize local food stores, businesses, healthcare and fuel.
  • Ensure SmarthGrowth controls all citizens ability to acquire any needs for human survival.
  • Create internal advocacies that band together to purvey Transition Town propaganda to elected officials and local governments.
By working on the ground level, Transition Towns can take over states and nations quicker than funneling through the bureaucracy of national governments.

To anticipate any problems, this movement has secured a legion of lawyers to be hired at the whim of the Environmental Dispute Resolution Fund, a WCEL “society” developed to infuse the court system with legal disputes to intimidate lawmakers into submitting to their “suggestions”. They impose “identifying structures and rules that encourage . . . favored strategies” as defined by the Transition Town movement.

By erecting a parallel structure to the local governments in place, they can ensure authorization by those local government through time honored and patient hounding of officials in community meetings where they use the Delphi Technique to coerce innocent citizens into backing their agendas. In this way, at community meetings the “grassroots” advocates of Transition Towns can assume a false devil’s advocate position and divide and conquer the attendees at the meetings to ensure their desired outcome is supported by the end of the meeting.

In the end, places like Victoria are being overrun by the Transition Town movement which has convinced the Victoria City Council to send a bill to the taxpayers for an estimated $140,000 to influence and network a fake organic movement with the assistance of the Occupy Movement in Victoria, BC.

This is why the UN Agenda 21 is so insidious. It attacks at the local level, getting the citizens of these towns and cities to fight for its implementation; all the while hiding its true nature.

The future of our world under Agenda 21 means buffer zones, areas designated inhabitable for humans in the name of biodiversity and the securitization of all resources need for base human survival. And the UN will be at the helm.

This is the dream of the global Elite.

Excellent article. Agenda 21 is one of the final nails in the coffin. Great sentence here to sum it up, "This is why the UN Agenda 21 is so insidious. It attacks at the local level, getting the citizens of these towns and cities to fight for its implementation; all the while hiding its true nature." The real solutions have to come from the local level ... anything the U.N. has to offer is a scam from the beginning.

What a sad paranoid fantasy. If you talk to Transition Town people, they either don't know or care about "Agenda 21" (which was just another failed document, like the recent Rio conference.)

When the "activists" and "occupiers" can't see the value of growing your own food, instead of eathing mega-corp poisoned stuff, wow, that's blindness.

Think "peak oil" is a conspiracy? You really believe the oil will never run out? Remember when it was $10 a barrel? It costs a lot more than that to get it from the Tar Sands.

It's sad to see one part of the alternative to corporatism bashing another group getting out from under.

My experience at the local level Transition Town mov't was very positive, even if it is using AGW as a motivation for participants. Everyone involved in my town was determined to create a more resilient community by increasing local capacity for things such as food production, energy, and healthcare. There was a strong sense of no longer wanting to depend on corporate entities for these needs.

Easy to take pot shots at these efforts from the comfort of your keyboard. Instead of condemning an inspiring movement with a broad brush, why not a more helpful analysis here?

Sorry, but the only scam here is this article. Pity...

What?? This is scaremongering gone perverse. I can't speak for the Transition movement in the North, but my experience in Australia is that it is a genuine grassroots movement. We're talking community gardening, urban agriculture, promoting Permaculture principles, and community exchange currencies. It's not submitting to world government, it's the polar opposite - anarchistic local level organising!

it was recently in the local paper that counties in central ny are recieving state $ for "sustainable development". This includes the city if syracuse, oswego, aburn etc.

also syracuse, used to be known as the Salt city due to the industry that bore it, salt... a few years ago new signs were errected renaming it the emerald city a sustainable development community (like from wizard of oz, which interestingly was written by frank l baum not too far from the city in chittenango.)

also syracuse has the largest waste of taxpayer $ in the form of tax breaks galore(besides wall st) in the state. it is called destinyusa (a pyramid corp development) it is a "green" expansion of the existing mall on a toxic waste dump on the shores of the sacred onondaga lake.

it has been sitting unfinished for nearly a decade now. nothing green about the construction at all. A giant concrete eyesore. no windows, no solar gain. the local liberal newspaper declared it in the "best of" issue a few years ago "the best recreation of a federal penetentary" there is a huge sign on this concrete monolith that says
"welcome to destinyusa, the future green capital of america"
two wind turbine models finally donated by company wanting to test them out. got rid of many handicapped parking spaces and turned them into hybrid parking! is sinking and settling and cracking and in need of constant repair due to the fact that it sits on a marsh and there are sinkhole all over. it has been a huge issue in the city and county and elections for a decade now. boa dropped funding to project last yr. and then i think they gave it back interest free, like the whole project is exempt from proerty tax, while land owners in the county get raped in taxes.
it aims to be bigger than mall of america. a friggin mall!!!! shut up and shop! there is not one useful store in that entire mall. used to go there to walk when i lived in syracuse, in crappy weather, and decided crappy weather was better than that hell hole

as a longtime advocate for the earth, organic biodynamic farming, sustainable energy and housing, local business & community and and self reliance, i have a hard time swallowing and not choking on agenda 21. another nobel cause hijacked by Evil! this shit is insane and need to be stopped before they accomplish thier goals i.e pop reduct.

but what hasn't been brought up in critsism of the failure of a project is this: "remediated" wasteland turned parkinglots have barbed wire (facing in)topped fences, and what appear to be watch towers near the bus stop shelters..... very near the bus and train stations. all on land once (and still ) held sacred to the iroquois nation.
this shit has been evolving right under our noses. for those intelligent enough to connect the dots, it is infuriating that others cannot.
i know i'm preaching to the choir here, but pass this info on where-ever, to whom ever you can. even if they scoff and call you crazy, you've planted a seed... it can grow into a beautiful flower, or a thorny weed in those minds, but rest assured it will grow.

***also..... my husband has reported seeing an influx of military vehicles, men at gun turrets on I81 heading north the last few days on his way to work.and some he speculates are not u.s. in origin. like huge caravans i haven't seen since ft drum started using the trains to transport when i was a teen. we used to wave and salute them as we passed them on the highway. now i look at these young boys in the eye with their hands resting on guns on civilian rds with such a sorrow. i wish they'd crash and die rather than commit any more atrocities upon their souls, and the collective soul of humankind! *****

Fantastic!! I couldn't help but get overwhelmed with excitement over the possibility of "taking over states and nations quicker than funneling through the bureaucracy of national governments"

Maybe we can see some real change in this world and no longer look to big brother to do it for us.

Much like Rio+20, Globalists may have the dirty little intentions in the cookie jar, but serves only to inspire the will of the people that they rally up to carry out their 'evil master plan'. This is the classic comedic drama of the servant while trying to obey overlord does everything in the wrong way and in the end frustrates said overlord. In this case, does more good than harm.

I say let them build these institutions and infrastructures and when the time comes remove the evil head and all of it's self-serving intentions and walk into our new world, void of the controllers, on the roads they built trying to corral all of us in to herds..

But as for this article, it is a lot a speculative thinking over a little bit of facts. And to what end? That question may serve you well in escaping the 'herding' even if you thought you already had.

I mean how many bloggers are employed by the CIA/NSA/etc... I heard over 20,000 could be more. Who knows what they are up too? But I can tell you this, any transition to any new order of any sort whether it be at the of clean energy, clean politics (read no politics), sustainable living and well being for All people, or a slighty tainted version of a sustainable future based on the likes of one globalist group or another, is a direct threat to existing elite groups. Groups that are always fighting to gain control are going to win the game unless we wakeup and stop being told what to think and see what's so for ourselves.

Psh. This is nothing but rightwing ideology at its purest. Fear of change because of fear of change. There is nothing dubious about Transition Town, the movement is comprised of a bunch of anti-imperialist, liberal, peace-toting gardeners seeking a more sustainable way of living in rural communities that, on account of their remote geography, have heretofore relied on extensive commuting as a means to micro-economic stability. All these Transition folk want is to continue living rurally without facing the economic hardships concomitant with depleting fossil fuels. For some reason, the right sees this as a nefarious plot to take away their pick-up trucks and 24/7 access to Doritos and things via Cumberland Farms gas stations. The thing about regression, you dumb ingrates, is that it is merely a symptom of refusing to further develop.

The only thing that's pro Agenda21 / NWO is this article - the attempt at a NWO is all about a top down, consolidation of power through centralized currency, food production, political systems etc. - this is the antithesis of the bottom up diversified communities springing up experimenting with alternative currencies, local food production and local governance

Seriously - this article is a joke - the only good thing about is the video - I think what those people are doing is pretty darn cool...

Wake Up Golbal Zombies!!!

If you were really concerned about CO2 emissions you would be aware that the biggest polluter world wide is the communications industry. Think microwave towers, cell phones, IPads, IPhones & wifi. Now try and think of a place where they are not being used.

We are killing our own children- something that has never happened before on this planet. Twenty some years down the road all the little girls world wide will be sterile and since the female passes all the mitochondrial DNA to their offspring- all of their daughters will also be sterile. Once DNA is destroyed it will NEVER be able to be resored to the eggs of future generations.

There will not be any worries about population problems nor peak oil or golbal warming because there won't be any people left to pollute. How stupid can we be- even the 1% are killing their own children & future generations. We are living in a world where it is very likely that our young children will not outlive their own parents.

I wouldn't worry about oil if I were you. We have much bigger problems to think about!

BTW- Guess who is on the Board of Directors for APPLE....AL Gore! Ironic isn't it? Now that's an inconvient truth if I've ever heard of one! The world's newest & biggest polluter is being overseen by Mr. Green himself!

Don't believe me? Watch British physicist Barrie Trower explain it to you in layman's terms on youtube-

Nothing in this article made any sense to me whatsoever, and all the points posited were backed up with nothing but conjecture.

We (the general public) need to be critical of EVERYTHING we read, hear, and see. There are a lot of dis-info agents mixed in with sources that we'd like to think are more reliable but - as I learned the hard way - you can never really know for sure...

tptb control mainstream media and we know they've infiltrated alt-news sources; as we see evidenced in the article above.

Reiterating what another anon wrote: It's dangerous to let someone else do your thinking for you. I'm glad to see other people who are capable of thinking for themselves and seeing something for what it really is.

As a Libertarian, and a person involved in the transition movement in my own community, I have to call bs.

For some time now, quite a large number of folks that come from religious community have been claiming that sustainability is the "work of the devil."

As someone who is very active in political discussion as well as working on pulling the plug on the giant corporate economy and trying to work and my local economy, the very essence of what transition towns are, it's at times laughable to read some of the drivel I hear coming from people that are afraid of sustainability.

There is a little news flash for people that are afraid of transition and think that it's part of a gender 21.

1. I think fascist collaboration between multinational corporations, and politicians who have sold out their country, is kind of a problem.

So forgive me for getting involved in the Transition movement to try and pull the plug on illegal power structures trying to control what I am allowed to eat, whether me and my community are allowed to grow food without registering with a central government, or whether we're allowed to become self sufficient in our own community, without depending on the nanny state.

So, if transition movement is about taking power back from the nanny state, and not being a slave to central government... then consider me guilty as charged.

Personally, if I chose to grow organic wholesome foods that's not sprayed with pesticides and herbicides, or not genetically modified, or only available with seeds from a multinational corporation thats trying to control all the food on the planet I think that's my right. If the author of this article has a problem with that and she thinks that was part of agenda 21 I'm going to suggest she remove her head from wherever she's gotta it stuck.

I would like to ask that the readers of this article give some attention to it's author, Susanne Posel, and her website, http://occupycorporatism.com/. Please, go have a look, and decide for yourself if it is a reputable source of information. Also, have a look at Susanne's facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/susanne.posel.1) and see whether you think this is an actual human being.

In my most humble opinion, this is a corporate astro-turf operation designed to misdirect and pervert the
Occupy movement. I sincerely hope this issue can be rectified as soon as possible. If Susanne is an actual human member of Occupy Philadelphia, I offer my (partial and confused) apologies. Either way, we need to be careful with what we choose to believe. There is a lot of well tailored, targeted propaganda out there of which occupycorporatism.com is but one small, fascinatingly reflexive part.

I've posted this a few other places, I hope nobody minds. Thanks!

Dear Susanne,

I thought, seeing as I am referred to in your piece, that I might exercise my right to reply to your ridiculous article. I appreciate that you clearly come from a deeply conspiracy theory-focused worldview, and that is entirely your right. You do, however, have at least some obligation to do even the smallest amount of research to support the points you make.

Sir Terry Frost once said “if you know before you look you cannot see for knowing”. You have done the classic conspiracy theorist trick of starting out assuming anything that is having any impact anywhere is only doing so only because it is part of the great conspiracy that you believe in, and of cherry picking any odd bits of gossip and outlying data that support that world view.

You are of course entitled to your take on how the world works, but if you try to paint others into your paranoid perspective on things, you do at least have a duty to do your homework. Apart from the names in the second paragraph, and the third and fifth paragraphs, this piece is almost entirely an absolute fabrication which tells us far more about your own worldview than about Transition.

You attribute the most extraordinary amount of power to the Transition movement. “Transition can take over states and nations”. Really? On what do you base this? You assert that we have a “legion of lawyers”. Really? Can you please provide some evidence to support this statement? You argue forcefully that Transition is linked to the UN and acts as a vehicle for the “UN takeover of our local communities”. Could you please provide some evidence for this link?

No doubt that won’t bother the wider conspiracy theory movement, who will take the very fact that this piece exists online as the only confirmation they need of its veracity, and in the usual Chinese whispers that characterises ‘research’ will take it as read that all that you assert here is correct. Personally I would be deeply embarrassed to publish something this poorly researched.

So, please could you provide some evidence to your claims that Transition Network has “a legion of lawyers” (we can haggle over how many constitute a ‘legion’, but according to Dictionary.com, a legion is “a division of the Roman army, usually comprising 3000 to 6000 soldiers”. That’s a lot of lawyers), that we have proven links to the United Nations, that we use “The Delphi Technique” (whatever that is), and that Transition initiatives on the ground are somehow ‘fake’ and ‘co-ercive’. In the absence of that evidence I would ask that you publish a retraction. After all, one of the other sites you have posted this on is dedicated to not spreading “lies .. and outright disinformation”. No doubt the very fact that I am replying to your piece and questioning its contents will be read as confirming the fact that I am part of some huge conspiracy, but there we go. What to do.

Many thanks
Rob Hopkins

Could this article contradict itself any more? If Agenda 21 is designed to herd us all into megacities and control every aspect of our lives through undemocratic centralised control of everything from food to media to the money supply, I'm baffled as to how a decentralised localism movement growing its own veg is going to be part of their plans? The objective of the Transition network would seem to be the antithesis of the claimed objective of Agenda 21 and I don't see how the two can possibly co-exist as stated in the article. As for sustainability as a threat, what kind of demented logic is that? When did "don't consume more than you can produce" become bad advice? By insisting on your "right" to use more resources than the planet can replenish, you are denying your own children the very access to resources you claim to defend. Not much point having human rights if the planet doesn't have the capacity to support said humans. If anyone is condemning future generations to a post-industrial future, it's you!

As for the globalist agenda of depopulation, the population in 1960 was 3 billion. By the time I was born a mere 14 years later, it had reached 4 billion. It's now 7 billion. As plans go...

I attended a transition town meeting, thought it was a good idea to exchange skills and knowledge that might be needed when SHTF.

What they wanted to do was compile lists of who had what stored in the way of food, fuel, farmland and other things that would be taken over by "the community" in an emergency.

I am a prepper and expressed my unwillingness to turn over the fruits of my labor to people who prefer to spend summers at the beach instead of gardening and watch movies instead of growing and preserving food or learning skills and doing hard work.
