The Latest Outrage in Tyranny USA -- Man Shot Dead By Police While Watering Neighbor's Lawn (VIDEO)

Editor's Note:  Here is a perfect example of the citizen spy culture taking root in the USA with the "If you see something, say something" program encouraged by Homeland Security.  A 911 call apparently was made after a neighbor mistakenly interpreted a man sitting on a porch as a "drunk with a gun."  Officers arrived, ready for battle, and the man was killed . . . while watering his neighbor's lawn.  Watch this heartbreaking video:

PSYWARORDER
KTLA Long Beach "Cops", or "Police" Murder 35 year old Long Beach man for watering lawn in Long Beach upscale neighborhood Belmont Shore. Apparently, a 'neighbor' [snitch, rat, scum] called the LBPD about a man with a gun was sitting in a lawn chair on a friends front lawn w/ what appeared to be a firearm. POLICE ADMIT THAT THE PROPER S.O.P OF 'ESCALATION OF FORCE' WAS NOT FOLLOWED!!! The 35 y/o subject was not ordered to drop his "firearm" {garden hose}, before LBPD murdered him in Cold Blood... and the "police" failed to notice the green effin hose attached to the "gun".....these men are an insult to the uniform....no warning, no conversation with him, these "officers" need to be arrested on murder chargers.

Couldn't agree more. And I would add that if we are going to have a snitch culture, the person making the call to police needs to be held responsible as well. If not, this will continue to get worse.

This type of police MURDER has been happening to African Americans for th last 250yrs. The Oscar Grant III case and the Katrina MURDERS are 2 prime examples of ASSASINS WITH BADGES getting off on KILLING BLACK PEOPLE.

A WHITE MAN get the SAME MURDEROUS TREATMENT and folks are up in arms! Will the cops involved DO TIME? Yeah, in an all-white prison to avoid their SLAUGHTER...

Activist said...

Anon. You are absolutely right. We have written articles, and posted articles about Oscar Grant, but I should have included the link here. We cannot allow this to be about white vs. black. This is ANOTHER clear case of police terrorism designed for all of us. It is a good thing if this incident awakens people -- something good should come of it. Just as Oscar Grant deserves more justice than what he got, this gentleman deserves the same. Thank you VERY much for your comments -- Michael Edwards

How about everyone in that neightborhood get off their asses, march down to the local police station, surround the place, and demand the officers who shot this man be arrested for murder. These men should not be permitted to wear a badge or carry a gun every again.

These officers are supposed to "protect and serve", what a joke! These are full blown retard cops, who are killing innocent people, and we wont see any consequence come of it.

The system is rigged to protect these pigs, hopefully karma manages to pay them back.

Smashing success for "if you see something say something." Way to go citizen, you just killed your neighbor. I cant believe people are actually being sold on this horseshit.

Hey, great idea! I hate my neighbor too. I guess next time his dog takes a pee on my lawn I'll just call the cops and have my neighbor killed. Thanks for the tip!

What happened to the days when the police took the risks and the public was protected? If you're that scared of guns or objects that resemble them, don't be a cop.

Anonymous said...

I just cried. This is so heartbreaking.

Looks like a gun to me and not like ANY friggen hose sprayer I've ever seen. Maybe people shouldn't be DRUNK (and probably belligerent) in public creeping around houses when no one's home? Just my guess, I'm not gonna second-guess the cops when they're confronting a potentially dangerous situation.

Anonymous said...

Officer's safety is #1 priority. Whenever the officer feels, and this is the keyword, that he or fellow officers (but not the public) are in danger, he is free to kill. His feeling does not need to be justified. At the same time, according to the law, police has no formal obligation to protect anyone.

There will be investigation, but it will find no wrongdoing, since they truly felt that they were in danger. The family will sue, the taxpayers will pay, the cops will get overtime pay for testifying in court (they do love it because of that). This resembles the killing of Derek Hale, a retired marine who was surrounded by 8 officers while sitting on the porch of his house, tazered and then killed from point-blank range. He did not have a weapon and did not do anything resembling any resistance, but the police was found fully correct anyways, because they were afraid of the tazered man lying on the ground in his own vomit. Will be the same outcome here as well.

In normal society, such an incident would result in immediate resignation of the police chief to begin with. Not here, ever.

Paranoia = delusion = one-disaster-after-another

If something like this doesn't strike at the heart of one of the stupidest kneejerk-reaction methods of supposedly legal law enforcement, nothing will.

What'll it take for idiotic systems like Homeland Security to get slapped down? Perhaps a massive and deadly shoot-to-kill raid of a kindergarten because some far right reactionary moron reported what looked like (to him as) an al Qaeda training day-camp for miniature terrorists?

You just GOTTA know that, if he is still alive and hidden in some cave somewhere, Osama bin Laden is definitely clapping his hands and giggling with glee that such an item is SURELY yet another indicator that he has accomplished his mission.

The police in this case are not by any imagination correct or right or justified or whatever you want to call their cowardly actions. They get off because the powers are behind them and ignorance is behind the public. The jury that will be called on this (criminal) case will get the cops off, thereby allowing such murders to occur to the general public again and again. Regardless of the judge’s double talk, regardless of the lawyer’s lies, the jury has been given by the U.S. Constitution the power of “Jury Nullification.” This means that regardless of what anyone or even the law says, the jury has the right to cancel out any law that they find unjust and render the verdict that they see fit, with absolutely no consequences to them. Judges will routinely lie to the jury and tell them that they must decide on a verdict based on his instructions. This is a lie and part of the power structure that keeps the public powerless. However, the framers of the Constitution made sure that the ultimate power would be left to the people. Today our educational system forbids the mention of “Jury Nullification” thereby keeping the police, bankers, politicians and other high-level criminals forever free.

The stupid neighbor is a busy body. Calling the worst criminal place like 9-11 to report a man he was just suspecting. He just because he had a big mouth that caused the murder of this young man. Maybe he will have to carry this with him the rest of his life, stupid and evil as a person can be when he knows the the American Police are criminals. That is all, WELCOME TO AMERICA THE LAND OF THE CRIME and have a good day NEIGHBOR!

I love it when negroes come on the forum and try to compare negroes getting shot during criminal acts with this case. Wanna bet it was a negro who called 911?!

Similar situation in Charlotte, NC about four years back where a negro cop shot a White cell tower technician while the tech was on duty at his station. Local negro homeowner(?) called 911 - formerly all White neighborhood. We know what needs to be done.

At any rate, everyone can quit crying as i$rael has controlled America for quite some time. Remember the 'bolshevik revolution' in Russia? Jew financed and led.

These cops are all under 130 iq. In other words they are not smart, brave or capable of split second decision making. They are taught militarism by the ADL. It is them (the ADL) that has inculcated these 5 watt thugs that their "feelings" of safety is paramount to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, in other words THEY are more important than those they claim to protect. What they are protecting is the judiazing of America where the jew is the supreme life form and the rest of us exist to serve them!If you have a hard time fathoming this here is one example of a "chosen" protecting another tribe member at a critical time in their efforts to destroy America.
http://boingboing.net/2010/11/08/colorado-da-drops-fe.html
The same horror that Aleksandr Isayevich Solzhenitsyn wrote about in the Gulag Archipelago and Two Hundred Years Together is being done here and by the same tribe! Look at the names of those that have taken TRILLIONS from us. THEY ARE ALL JEWS! Look at who fomented both world wars, THEY WERE ALL JEWS! Look at who penned the lies about Iraq, Iran and Afghanistan to goad us to fight their wars, THEY ARE ALL JEWS! If this was Muslim based you all would see the connections of those involved immediately but you all get your world views from the main stream media and when you look at who owns that you find THEY ARE ALL JEWS EXCEPT ONE and he is a zionist! Our enemies walk among us tearing out our lives, our Liberties and making happiness impossible and everlasting war inevitable. All this with YOUR tax money that they create from nothing and LOAN to us at interest! Islam FORBIDS interest and i KNOW none of you knew that! This is the basis of the hate jews hold for Muslims!

Someone just made an important comment that needs to be echoed!

Many cops are also soldiers. Notice how police killings have gone up dramatically in the last ten years?

War kills the innocents just as much as the evil on both sides. Until wars kill those that start them to profit from them and to kill off the poor, you will continue to reap what you sow.

Unfortunately 80% of war victims are civilians. Doug was just another victim of a zionist fascist police state filled with paranoia to keep the people divided and conquered into the right and left while they pick your pockets with both hands.

Anonymous said...

This is just sickening. In cases where the police acted irrationally and shoot an unarmed innocent, they always justify it by saying "he pointed the water hose at us in a threatening demeanor", when the poor guy was probably just sitting there and minding his own business watering his friends lawn. Notice how the policeman says that the guy pointed the hose at them with both hands like he had a gun... then turns around and admits there was no conversing done between law enforcement and the victim. So the guy sees the cops approaching him with their weapons drawn and points the hose at them in a threatening way..not likely.. more like the guy didn't even see them coming, or they surprised him with no warning of their approach. I saw another video of a cop that stopped to ask directions at a ladies home and shot the owners dog, on her own private property! The cop said the dog tried to attack him, but the owner luckily had security cameras mounted on her home and caught the whole thing on camera. The dog didn't try to attack him, it was wagging its tail and didn't show the least bit of aggression. The cop had a ride a long with him and was just showing off! This country is falling apart!

"I'm not gonna second-guess the cops when they're confronting a potentially dangerous situation"

Spoken like a true hilbilly dumbfuck!

Cops are PUBLIC SERVANTS. They deserve to be second guessed about every action they take, specially deadly action. It's our job as diligent citizens to second guess them, and to remove them from power when they behave unjustly.

Just because cops blow it and make a bad decision doesnt mean they get the benefit of the doubt. By signing up to be our protectors they are held to a higher standard, and should be second guessed, questioned, and reviewed on a regular basis.

Otherwise we'll see many more situations like this, where people far too incompetent to carry a fire arm are killing people unjustly.

Something doesn't smell right here. He was said to be "watering the lawn." But there wasn't a lawn to be seen (at least not shown in that clip), nor do they mention whether a hose was connected to the spray nozzle. Either this is bad journalism or bad use of force.

But if I'm a cop and I saw a guy holding JUST the nozzle (which looks VERY much like a small gun), and he then pointed it at me, I'd shoot him too.

Ok, remember this story next time you are watering your lawn and some idiot calls you in for what looks like a gun in your hand. Cops show up, but because you showed an action consistant to holding a gun, you can be immediately killed without question or reason. REMEMBER THAT, because that is what was done to this guy.

In another shooting here where I live, cops were looking for a guy who was attacked in a bar parking lot. Witness told the cops he had a bat as he fled in his car. Next day they chase the guy, stop him, order him out of his car and on the ground. He performed the fight or flight emotion and was shot 11 times out of 32 shots, in the back. Because he held his cellphone in his hand as he ran, he was killed.

Oh, and the 3 of 4 cops who emptied their guns on the guy, hit another bystander in a bar with stray bullets as well as shooting up the streets business. This, was in a small city of little crime that never needs deadly force.

COPS are being trained to do this type of response and they are protected when doing so.

So be carefull when watering your lawn with a pistiol gripped water hose. You might be consitant with holding the hose like you got a gun and be murdered for minding your own business.

Good vs Evil, which will win?
Is an innocent dead man proof the cops are the good people in this country?
Cops enforce unconstitutional legislation and are therefore enemies of the people. When enough people wake up to realize that the cops are CRIMINALS and complicit in many crimes against innocent people, then they will be treated like the criminals they really are.
If you are a cop, then beware the awakening. The detention camps are for the guilty, not the innocent. The real criminals will be held in these camps while they await trial for their crimes against the people and our supreme law (the constitution).
The USA will need to shut down while the innocent 50% bring the criminal 50% to trial. The criminals among us will not get away with their many crimes.
Repent while you still can, constitution hating mammon serving criminals we call, cops.
May this innocent man's death not be in vain.

The COWARD Robert Ford was given this title for shooting an unarmed man in the back. Who gave him this title? The cops of those days. Who did he shoot in the back? The folk hero Jesse James....The man that was fighting the banks and rail roads, yeah thats right HERO! James was tired of watching Railroads come out and make pittance offers on the peoples land and if they didnt take the offer the railroads sent out Pinkerton mercenary to shoot there live stock or burn there house (and yes the PINKERTON MERCENARY killed any that resisted) The lawmen of those days considered it cowardice to shoot unarmed men (unless they worked for Pinkerton mercenary service). The cops today are cowards, they get a hour long speech everyday first thing about how its so dangerous and they can get killed, this is brainwashing right out of s cult, they dress the same, "if they are not a cop they dont understand" thinking is all brainwashing techniques, then they are in a cult because all there friends and activity's are all centered around police activity's. All there girlfriends are x girlfriends of other cops so it re-enforces the fear training they get and it is a cult brainwashing technique, they come home from a war all screwed up from committing and seeing atrocities and the only skill they have is killing so they get a job as a cop. COWARDS everyone, because then when one see another do something criminal they turn there head. Its called "the blue line" and they dont break ranks, another cult brainwashing technique of peer pressure. I dont believe the cops story one bit, they just want to sensationalize that he held it in both hands to get sympathy for the coward. And if the cop could just admit that he was scared it would be understandable, but no! I could write a book about the cult mentality and current cop culture they are in a cult like the Germans were when they began the NAZI party in Germany. Go ahead do some research and see for yourself, its true.

How about instead of attacking me, you debate what I said. In fact, I also stated that this might be a case of too much force. But based on the bad journalism of this story, everyone is flying off the handle about what a cop should have done in this case. (Because, of course, we all know you would react so calmly when you felt your life was at risk)

Was this guy actually (as in, a hose was connected and spraying water) watering the lawn? If he was, wouldn't the 911 caller have seen this and perhaps just thought it was weird but NOT have called 911 describing a gun?

But instead, the commenters here are making judgments on the few pieces of information they have been fed, and considering the case closed. Ask questions, instead of creating judgments. Otherwise, you look like the Nazis you accuse others of being...

"In fact, I also stated that this might be a case of too much force."

A man holding a hose is dead and it "might" be a case of too much force? Go ask the cops if they used too much force, champ. Continue asking those questions that will keep you blind to the truth.
What can we expect from one that declares watering the lawn can possibly be described as "weird" behavior!

Anonymous said...

Your post just shows your ignorance. Yes, according to your logic, asking MORE questions blinds the truth. Wouldn't want to do that. Let's all just act impulsively, just like the cops...

"A man holding a hose is dead and it "might" be a case of too much force?"

1. Where in the news article say he was holding a "hose"? Nowhere. It appears he was only holding the nozzle, which looks like a small pistol. You read the headline (without proof that it is the "truth" as you call it) and are reacting with emotion, not objectivity or questions. That's what you call "truth"?

2. Watering the lawn isn't, in general, weird. It would be considered "weird," and I would think this is obvious, in this instance because the guy was a stranger to the 911 caller. If you saw a person you've never seen before watering your neighbor's lawn, you wouldn't think that was "weird"? At best you'd think it was "weird." But you wouldn't call 911, most likely. Point is, the caller probably wouldn't have called 911 if the victim was actually watering the lawn. Weird, but not something that you'd get the cops over for. Get it?

My comments are not defense of the cop. Inability to look at things objectively is what we should be questioning.....champ.

So the officer gets a call- man with gun. The cop doesn't position himself first in cover, but just stands out in the open to face the suspect?
Was there a hose connected to the sprayer? Was the suspect actually spraying water?
Could the cop have yelled for him to drop the weapon first, since the cop should have been in cover as he should have been? The suspect was sitting down and not approaching or easily maneuverable.
Too much wrong here.
The suspect would be alive if proper procedures were in place- murder is very possible.

Why did they give those young kids guns anyway. The human mind does not mature until middle age. What kind of retard puts a gun in a 20 year old hands? For all time it has been well known that kings prey upon the young to do the devil's bidding. There should be a minimum age limit of 30 years of age to be a street officer. A better damper against unnecessary force.

The next level--litegation is where the money will be made by those in the clubhouse. The police will be defended by the prosecutor or, more likely, outside counsel(generally former prosecutors with politically connected law firms) paid extravagantly by a state sponsored tax exempt Risk Pool not ashamed to accept kickbacks. Of counsel (ie, not appearing in the case) will possibly be the judge's spouse, ex partner buying his law practice on an open note, or some such confederate to the case fixing.

The real deal comes because the publicly funded tax exempt pool doesn't file income tax
and likely doesn't report its attorney invoices either. Hence the various benefiaries need not withhold (22%) or report income either but are free to send the check to thier account in the Cayman Islands to be repatrioted by untracable credit cards issued by a trust acccount operating from a bank in Lichenstien.

All of them dirty together as your civil rights,
the rule of law and your tax money disappears
tax free into the pockets of the ultimate "blue wall of silence", the bar association members.

Yes, this will be a very lucretive situation for the right people. Oh, the dead man....well remember officer safety comes first and our "public servants" can look forward to the day they can get in on the looting.

That's really messed up. These new cops appear to be itching to shoot somebody, anybody. We have a real problem with this in Seattle too - lots of murders committed by police after which they are exonerated after a lengthy "investigation." I recall six deaths in 2010 from Seattle police and I hardly watch the news or TV.

In one case cops were sneaking around a homeowners back yard at 2 am trying to open doors and windows. The homeowner awoke frightened, grabbed his shotgun, and went to check out the dark figures in his fenced back yard. As he opened the door (shotgun pointed down) he was met with a hail of bullets and died. The cops did NOT identify themselves and they parked their vehicles around the corner, lights off. They had received bad information and were merely snooping around and had no warrant for anything. I could very well imagine this happening to any innocent. No prosecutions, murder ruled justified and they're still police today.

The cities are hiring the mentally deficient...and do not test for mental wellness. Also, who is attracted to the police 'force'? Those with control issues, and other, more dangerous mental health issues. This is not the majority, but a good portion.. Also, Long Beach police deal with ghetto crime issues daily, hourly, and do not discriminate when under pressure. Get out of Long Beach..period!!!

First of all...this was a tragedy waiting for the right a-hole to help it along. Drunken man?..was he drunk?...Is that reason to kill? Also, holding a hose that looks like a gun? Also, some idiot neighbor, asking for police protection from a man 'sitting on some steps, who appears to be a little drunk, holding a hose, or watering plants?" WTF!!! This was not a nice area of Belmont..I know this area... Belmost is mostly upscale... This poor man had issues..if he is drunk, and waiting for his beloved sister to arrive home...tragedy, preventable...just waiting for all these circumstances to unfold...(plus a mentally ill police force..overworked, under-evaluated, and obviously corrupt/criminal)

Very tragic, but not surprising. this has been out of control for too long. but its what happens when we refuse to be responsible for our actions.
I truly feel for the family, but this happened because we the people allowed it to. the cops no longer have to determine if the threat is real or not, they no longer need warrants to search your house or car or anything else. and its our fault and were paying for it. its not going to change until we the people stand up en masse and say enough.

"Yes, according to your logic, asking MORE questions blinds the truth."

I never said asking MORE questions blinds the truth. I said: "Continue asking those questions that will keep you blind to the truth."

Did you ask the cops if they used too much force, yet, genius?

"It appears he was only holding the nozzle, which looks like a small pistol. You read the headline (without proof that it is the "truth" as you call it) and are reacting with emotion, not objectivity or questions. That's what you call "truth"?"

"It appears he was only holding the nozzle" is your idea of truth. I don't care if he was holding a nozzle that morons mistake for a gun, he was an innocent man murdered in cold blood. He was not given due process. That is the truth, genius! Anything can look like a small pistol from a distance, genius. That is why paranoid morons and real guns should never spend time together.

More nonsense from this poster:"If you saw a person you've never seen before watering your neighbor's lawn, you wouldn't think that was "weird"?"

No, I would not think it is weird behavior. My neighbors have people over all the time that I've never seen before. It's none of my business who visits my neighbors. If they tell me to keep my eye out for the lawn watering bandit that has been watering their lawn against their will, then I will keep an eye out for said bandit. Until that time, I will MIND MY OWN BUSINESS.

"My comments are not defense of the cop. Inability to look at things objectively is what we should be questioning.....champ."

That is what has been done, genius. If you will read your own words objectively, you will see that your words prove you are trying to rationalize the cops behavior as potentially acceptable. You even attempt to pin this on "the cop" as though this was done by a lone wolf. Not very objective, and not very honest, either, champ.

If the police followed PROPER PROTOCOL as one user pointed out, I don't think this would've happened. For some reason the cops acted without thinking (why?), and are now responsible for the murder of an innocent man... I definitely wouldn't want that on my conscience.

This incident calls to my mind the shooting of an unarmed man in California in 2009; Oscar Grant. The officers reacted with fear and haste, AND DIDN'T FOLLOW PROPER PROTOCOL. Thus they killed this 22 yr old man with a four year old child... and for what? Such needless tragedies.

I understand the need to recognize room for human error in all things, but when you're dealing with life and death and you're incapable of following basic rules and regulations, than you need to find yourself another day job. Seriously.

This was a horrible accident, and NOT murder.

Murder must be proved with malice and intent.

These officers were responding to a legitimate call of a man with a gun. Of course they are going to respond with guns drawn, just as I or you would have done as well.

The neighbor was not a snitch. If you or I saw someone we did not recognize sitting on our neighbors porch with what we perceived to be a gun, we would have called the police as well.

Again, it was late(dark), the poor guy was drunk and for whatever reason he was holding an object(spray nozzle) that looked like a gun.

This was a horrible accident and many of you are not using sound reason and logic here.

Yes it is sad and my heart goes out to the family.

You people need to realize they are beng trained like this. You need to take control of your town and cities and demand they not hire people coming out of the police academy's as they are now instituted. The fact is that's where this is starting. Who is funding these academy's? How is deciding the circulum ? Who is teaching them that EVERYONE is the enemy?

Anonymous said...

Yes, according to the courthouse definition of murder, it must be malicious and intentional in order to be constituted as such. Whether it was an accident or not is irrelevant. According to logic and reason, there are no grey areas in the definition of killing. Manslaughter, homicide, to me it's all tit-for-tat semantics. Killing is killing, period.

The POINT however, is that this unarmed civilian was murdered for NO GOOD REASON, added to the fact that the police FAILED to do their jobs correctly. Had they DONE their jobs the way they were supposed to, this most likely wouldn't have happened. People are up in arms about these types of incidents (which are ever on the increase) because too many 'protectors of the law' have gotten away with murdering innocent people in the past, and then lied about it of course, to 'save face'. So you can't really blame people for getting upset or emotional when something like this happens. There's a bad history/pattern there.

Police conduct should be held to the highest of standards because of the privileges conferred to them by virtue of their authority, plain and simple. Oh, that and the LAPD has an atrocious rap sheet when it comes to MURDERING INNOCENTS. Most recent case in point: Oscar Grant. Law enforcement persons who truly understand the demands of their position, take it seriously, and are possessed of real integrity and humanity do everything they can to avoid killing innocent civilians. You know, 'Protect and Serve' who? US. We the people. Too many officers these days are actually serving the NWO, rather than serving the best interests of the general public, sad to say... think that's hokum from some paranoid? Go read The Franklin Cover-Up; then watch Conspiracy of Silence. It's all there, clear and irrefutable evidence from a man hoping none of it was true.

It is way past time for we the people to defend ourselves [from the "law"] with whatever degree of force is required to end this tyranny.

Much of this abuse could be cured in less than two weeks with probably fewer than 500 killer cops given vigilante justice if their punishments were all broadcast on the 6PM news.

Nearly every one of the police officers shown in the video link posted here by "Anonymous" on 12/17/10 at 8:51PM is easily identifiable by persons within their respective communities-I would HATE to be one of these thugs when TSHTF...

Google "cops tasers deaths unarmed" and read of the hundreds of unarmed citizens who have been MURDERED by cowardly "peace officers" in this country using "less-than-lethal" force.

Those murdered using deadly force number in the many thousands, but the scales of justice will not remain unbalanced indefinitely.

Not all cops are corrupt/cowardly/trigger-happy. I know several decent, honorable and courageous ones, but unfortunately a lot more are evil now than was the case even 10 years ago.

When the people finally rise up, ANY uniform is going to look like a bullseye [protective vests don't protect all of the back/head/neck/legs/arms and many will not block even a .22 magnum fired from a rifle-
http://fateoflegions.blogspot.com/2008/03/part-3-ballistic-vest-live-fire-test.html], and I hope the GOOD cops ditch their uniforms prior to that happening-God help all the still-uniformed goons on that day...

I've read quite a few naive comments here. This sort of thing is designed to happen. The cops are being trained to bring deadly force. We are no longer even "civilians." We are worms to be trampled. I'm not inciting violence here. I'm merely stating the mindset of those in power. We are now "peasants" and "fodder" and "useless eaters." The cops/soldiers/agents/whatever are quickly taking on their role of a boot smashing a human face forever.

I am saddened for the man and his famil. I hope the cops get 25 to life but reality is suspension with pay ( basically a paid vacation )This is a reply back to cop supporters Look, we taxpayers spend over 10,ooo yearly per officer to train cops. Watch the training videos and you will see this cop just wanted to shoot someone with his itchy finger because he has a badge. How many cops responded and couldn't get any angle as to what the object is. All officers are issued bullet proof vest's so what the hell they afraid of 20 to 1 odds????? If they can't observe for a split second to do their job and just decide to shoot innocent people then we ****** ** *** **** to office holders until justice is served. Because everyone preaches peace this country nothing gets accomplished and Hellmerica is going to shit. READ YOUR HISTORY. If enough people understood the Bill of Rights and the Constitution they would see that the cops violated their oath's of office, violating both the State and Federal constitution just simply by being armed and trespassing on private property. The problem is un-educated citizens on the Laws that apply, the rest is just BS. Dont trust attorneys they are officers of the court. Governments fear educated in law citizens.

It happens in the medical profession too. The pay is just to good and attracts the wrong people for the job. This is sad.

Society, as a whole is turning to crap. We have too many "takers", and too few "providers". The police are overworked, and jaded from all of the crap they deal with every day. Long Beach used to be a decent place to live, but like most of Kali, is turning into a shithole, over run by the scum of society. Before we start inciting violence against cops, why don't we use our only legal means, and finally vote out all of the corrupt politicians who allow this to happen? is it logical to think that having 15 MILLION undocumented people in this state, eating, shitting, fucking, multiplying, using up our resources, while giving back very little to society, is good? We are bringing about our own doom. Cops are just like the rest of us, they have a "job" to do, and then they want to go home, safe, and alive. I feel bad for the poor innocent civilian that got shot. BUT...if those stupid cops had shown up to that call ( MAN WITH A GUN)...and the guy really had a gun, and had shot a neighbor, we would be calling the "stupid cops" negligent..Lose Lose.
It's time for society to start policing themselves, too many of you tough guy heroes are implicit yourselves. We are all guilty...we see a guy dumping trash, we turn a blind eye, we see a fight, we turn a blind eye, we see a burglary going on, a drunk driver, etc......WE NEED to GET INVOLVED, stop secong guessing the cops...if you can do better, then DO SOMETHING ! IF you see a crime going on, do something ! If my neighbor was selling drugs, I wouldn't sit idly by, I would DO SOMETHING, if calling the cops did nothing, then I would try something else...Stop being so complacent, get involved, this is OUR country, take it back. Start by meeting your neighbors, talk to each other, if he's an asshole, then so be it, but at least you know him, and he knows you. This incident could have been prevented, if the neighbors knew each other...Wake up people, PLEASE !

Weird story. The nozzle sure does look like a small gun. And where's the lawn he was watering anyway? Nonetheless, why would a neighbor call police on a guy who sits on a porch, drunk apparently? What was the man doing that was a threat to the neighborhood besides sitting there with crossed legs (and watering the lawn)? The police, however, are a whole different story....something has to be done about that 'brotherhood' to stop it from becoming a full-blown murder squad.

The person who called it in was being a good citizen who called the police to take care of what he thought to be a dangerous situation. The police made a mistake when they did not tell him to drop the gun. This is very, very sad. Unfortunately, many refuse to help others or get involved when they see an illegal act. Put blame where it is due. Not with a good citizen. Blame the police.

Perhaps rely on ones self??

When I was growing up, the cops WERE a protector & servant. Nowadays, they seem to be pretty much into themselves. I won't argue that this was a potentially deadly situation, but there used to be certain procedures when approaching a suspect. (I used to be a cop) In today's world, I don't see those same procedures used and I see an all to often heavy hand used in the apprehension of suspects.

Quite honestly, I don't need a police officer's assistance 99% of the time. They arrest people from photographing them, videotaping, them or even observing them. All of that under the guise of "Homeland Security". ::rolls eyes:: If a uniformed police officer is doing their job properly, they have NOTHING to worry about being videotaped or photographed. I think that the time is drawing nigh where we need to take back our country.

Cops today are not trained to Protect and Serve and be a part of the community. Just the opposite.

Oh where to even begin. First, I'm not coming back to see who said what to this, because I don't give a RAT'S ASS what anyone says...I KNEW the man!! Enough said on that. Douglas Zerby is one of the most NON-VIOLENT, PEACEFUL SOULS I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. I have known him since he was just a kid, on up through high school, and beyond. He was MURDERED while he was STILL sitting down. The so-called Officers CLAIM he pointed a 'six shooter' at one of them...but Douglas didn't even know they were there! They NEVER spoke a WORD to him. He was not a belligerent drunk, he was a responsible drunk and that day it showed how responsible he was, not wanting to drive in that condition...as he has a family and SO MANY friends it would make your head spin. Everyone LOVED Doug! It was impossible not to. And IF you were privy to knowing him, you would know he is an absolute goofball...he would do anything for a giggle, even if the giggle was only his own sitting on a stair, waiting for his friend to come home. I believe he was sitting there passing time until his friend came home and was goofing off with a water nozzle he more than likely found right there on the steps. I find it completely disgusting to read some these comments that say this was justice. The man who reported Douglas just sitting on the stairs is ACCOUNTABLE! The LBPD for actually LISTENING AND DECIDING that 911 MORON was CORRECT are ACCOUNTABLE! I have made 911 calls before...LBPD in my experiences never approached like friggin SWAT and AMBUSHED the people I was calling about when they maybe should have. Nor would I ever have the gall to say something I wasn't absolutely SURE OF, such as, 'He's holding what appears to be a six-shooter.' WTF!!?? The snitch actually said he knows nothing about guns on the 911 tapes...and we took HIS word!!!????? Again.....WTF!!!!!!!!!!! Shame on the LBPD, shame on the Officers who will have Douglas' blood on their hands the rest of their natural born lives, shame on anyone who isn't completely appalled and saddened by this horrific travesty, and Doug, Darling, we will prevail. Godspeed and watch those really big waves.

To Shay,

Thank you for adding your comments. Very sorry for your loss. This was an outrage even if Douglas was a horrible person -- knowing that he was a great person makes it an even worse tragedy. I do hope that the caller, as well as the police, are forced to re-evaluate their actions. I also hope that others take heed of this story, because this is the world that Homeland Security seems to be encouraging. This is what a snitch culture of fear-based actions leads to. It's a disgrace.
