DEA Adds Kratom to Schedule 1 List Alongside Heroin

kratom treeBy Brandon Turbeville

Fresh on the heels of the CDC labeling kratom as an emerging “public health threat,” the notoriously fascistic U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency has filed a notice of intent to not only list it as a controlled substance, but the DEA is planning to add it to the most restrictive classification possible.

Mitragyna speciosa, aka kratom, and its two primary constituents, mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine are going to be placed onto schedule 1 temporarily beginning on September 30th.

This information comes from a filing from the DEA on August 30th, but the full announcement is scheduled to be published in the Federal Register on August 31st.

Kratom is not an opiate but functions in a similar manner, i.e. attaching to activating opioid receptors. The substance has been shown to alleviate chronic pain and anxiety as well as aid in overcoming addiction despite its own “euphoric effects.”

Studies in mice have actually demonstrated impressive results in overcoming addiction to cocaine. Many kratom users have also sung the plant’s praises in regards to heroin addiction. Kratom users claim that the substance is an excellent substitute for prescription pain medication as well as the addiction that comes with prescribed opiates.

The DEA is making its move after a few states toyed with the idea of placing kratom on their own controlled substances lists statewide, but failing to do so after public outcry got in the way. Never known for its attention to democracy, individual liberty or individual choice, the DEA is simply doing on a national level what Big Pharma and Big Government couldn’t do on a state level.

It is absolutely astounding even for the DEA that kratom is now listed alongside heroin. According to the DEA, kratom, due to its schedule 1 classification, has no known medical use and a high abuse potential.

With the swipe of the pen, the DEA has driven in the final nail to what little credibility it had left … and that might be the only bright spot in the whole situation. On the other hand, it has doomed many Americans to live in pain and anxiety and force many more back into the arms of Big Pharma. Perhaps that is the whole reason for the DEA’s decision to begin with.

  1. This is BS. How can we stop this? Kratom has saved my life and is cheap. Ive had FM/CF/MCS for 26 years and can’t take most drugs. This melts away my pain , doesn’t affect my cognitive abilities, and I have never gotten any kind of high from it.

  2. It is ALL about big pharama!! That is it. And it is a crime to push drugs that actually do cause harm to people!! More overdoses attributed to prescriptions rather than plants.

  3. What’s even crazier is heroin use is SOARING, up as much as 400% in many communities, said to be due to the govt crackdown on Rx narcotics as people turn to using heroin often mixed with meth. It’s a growing catastrophe and kratom would seem to be a way to safely mitigate this mess.

    • I’ve been on opiate meds for like eight years. I was cut down to a 1/3 my highest dose, though I was lower recently. It’s still too much too quick. There’s a lot of people in my situation. It sucks. I believe they put the new federal standards for limits on non cancer pain meds to sell more Afghan heroin. It’s working, apparently.

      • That’s terrible, sorry you’re going through that, colinjames71. It doesn’t make sense to me from a medical perspective, or even a social one. The “overuse” meme was hyped, exaggerated. My guess is this has at least something to do with Codex Alimentarius. Same with the proposal floated a few years ago to no longer allow the over the counter sale of acetaminophen (generic for Tylenol), making it Rx only. Too much stirring of the plebs shelved it…for now.

        • Thanks for the support! I’ll be alright, there’s people way worse than me. I just wish me and my doctor could have continued to lower my dose at a pace I was comfortable with, I really hate her being forced to force me lower. The max is really really low compared to the former state “guidelines” which were unenforceable in theory, but in practice…. not so much. Prescribe over those guidelines and you get investigated by the DEA and state med boards

      • This is why we need to save Kratom. It can help with the withdrawal and continue to help with chronic pain afterwards for about $1 a day. Works for many ailments involving chronic pain.

    • Why do you think we are in Afghanistan? Ever see the pictures of our soldiers guarding poppy fields? Why do you think the big banks never get in any form of trouble when they get caught laundering cartel money? And why do you think the sudden crack down on rx opiods? Its all tied together.

      • Yeah, I know. Mystifies me how the plebs missed this one, incredibly important story, even through the layers of veiling it was a big sore thumb. The drug trade means big profits for the banks…but then they can print what they want…so, the main agenda seems to be keeping the drugs flowing to create enough chaos and dysfunction that societies are kept off balance, struggling to keep their ships upright, not enough wherewithal to perceive their own enslavement much less fight it. Good post! BTW, we’re told the heroin sold in the US comes from Latin America: Mexico west of the Mississippi, Columbia east. A few years ago Afghanistan was said to be 80% of global production.

  4. bastards.

  5. The DEA is a class 1 threat to mankind, much worse than heroin.

  6. Kratom is another healthy herb.
They also, outlawed B17 (found in apricot seeds) and has cancer killing properties.
Proving, yet again, that the gubbers in Deceit are not representative.

  7. This calls for a mass plantation of this plant. Every garden everywhere must have at least a clump of plants growing and every home must have a few Kratom pot plants.

Kratom can become the symbol of resistance against this pharma police state.

People must all rally around this plant before it is demonised in the media.

    Time for real action now!

    • The plant is really large in native countries [40-50ft] & while it grows quite fast it requires a tropical climate and seeds are not available/viable in USA. Buying a small plant is possible [two leaves =$55] but you would have to have a greenhouse full to get enough powder for regular use.

    • Are you egging people on, Doug?

      • No of course not Lisa, the government and the DEA management have only our best interests at heart.
If they say GMO’s, Roundup, thimerosal, fluoride, etc is good for us and hemp, cannabis, kratom is bad for us then we must just allow them to incarcerate us when we use those evil plants. Guv’mint is our daddy and he knows what’s best for us!

  8. Time to resist these delirious little bureaucrats interfering with human relating to natural substances!

    • Love your spirit of resistance, Doug! Perhaps the first priority is resisting the electronic straight jackets because once they are fully in place we can we can be locked out of society in countless ways with the tapping of a few keys. Mark of the bankster beast:

      • Thanks for the link Blue. Really an excellent, comprehensive article.

I agree that resistance to the Technocratic gulag has to be number one priority.

If people can be brought to understand that very valuable natural resources are being withheld from them by delirious little Bolshevik bureaucrats behind teams of masked, gun toting, jack boot thugs, all in support of highly toxic corporations, then that could possibly be used as a step to wake people up to the dangers of the increasing social control.

On the other hand, the fact that 6.5 TRILLION dollars, confiscated from the population, have practically gone missing and there is no backlash shows how flat the heads have become through the schooling lead poison curriculum and the constant media hypnosis. . . . . . . . Oh fck, we’re fcked!

        • I hear ya, friend, you see it all so clearly. Hardly a peep that the internet is being turned over piecemeal to the UN and other insiders – the plebs are completely numb. I keep hoping we’ll reach a tipping point of awareness. Waiting for that moment and hoping for TPTB to overreach in their hubris with a massive backfire – otherwise, I agree, we’re fcked. It would be so easy to take back our power, instead, here I am wondering if the answer is Divine intervention or an asteroid! LOL

          • Doug Stevens | September 7, 2016 at 2:46 am |

Please not an asteroid :- ) – I don’t want myself or the great people around me to have to survive in a stone age / mad max environment. This is unfortunately also the outcome of the “Samson” scenario, from the psycho-“elite”, that I am personally very paranoid about.

Devine intervention may be possible depending on the behaviour of the people individually. This arrogant, disrespectful behaviour of the collective against nature and creation is not conducive to heavenly benevolence, imo. Particularly in the torturous carrion industries. I am on a blood free diet myself and I’m attempting to condition the young people in my sphere to find other sources of nutrition where torturing and suffering of sentient creatures are not exploited.

Target shooting at birds and animals is, imo, at the very top of sneering, primitive arrogance and disrespect against God and the beauty of Nature. I think the luxurious “birth right of man” is not attainable until individual behaviour is elevated in the collective. Please pardon me undressing myself here in public.

I was also not aware that ICANN is being transferred directly to Bolshevik control. Being in a remote part of the world and too occupied with cracking little nuts to feed the tax leech on my back, in between trying to entertain and awaken some young people around me, as my excuse :- ). Thank you for enlightening me about it.

This is now where the narrative is going to be globally controlled, again, in the run up, and aftermath, of the next global conflagration to establish a clear and well defined villain (Putin? ) and most probably the heart rending tales of 6 million of the chosen gruesomely tortured for some ideological fancy by that conjured villain!

When are these fkng freaks ever going to grow up and use their vast ill-gotten wealth in benevolent programs to globally increase human consciousness?

          • The asteroid is dark or dry humor, which I depend on to stay sane in this wacky world. 😉 A little bit of truth, though, given the terrifying thought of humanity forever enslaved as some kind of Borg collective.

I completely agree with your sentiments on the carrion industries. The first thing that came to mind was the words of two great thinkers in line with your views: Leonardo DiVinci and Thomas Jefferson (who feel like kindred spirits to me). The latter said (paraphrasing) humans cannot expect ourselves to be kind and respectful to each other if we don’t also extend the same civility and basic rights to our sentient animal brethren. I was a vegetarian in my teens and 20s, now I am an omnivore again though very little meat and do my best to buy products sourced from free range animals raised humanely.

As for a global conflagration, I still don’t see that heading our way, it’s still too risky for TPTB on several levels given they don’t want to disrupt their power gears or infrastructure build outs. Today I read a widely printed MSM “analysis” on terrorism that concluded ISIS will be brought to heel in Iraq and Syria and then went on to predict that’s when ISIS will become much more dangerous with widespread global terrorist attacks perpetrated by “extremists” blending into their societies. That tells us to expect some kind of new global Gladio to lock in the Orwellian security state. Expect also a piling on of hyped or engineered viral outbreaks, domestic infighting, economic turmoil, climate chaos etc. You know the drill, Doug. Interesting times, friend, a bit too interesting! 😉 Warm Regards, Blue.

          • I really hope that you are right on the global conflagration perspective.

I’m coming in from the side of the impending economic collapse. The debt vortex in particular, linked to simple minded, media driven consumerism is increasing the kinetic energy in the rat race. It is bound to unravel under the strain and the only way the “elite” will be safe from the potential “reign of terror” will be in their under ground bunkers.

6.5 Trillion dollars don’t just disappear. Very likely spent on vast under ground shelters among other self protection systems.

Of course they can maintain a balance but I think the hubris is also increasing and they are exposing themselves more theses days. War is definitely one of the preferred options for them to reset the global economy in their favour.

My speculative scenario – They are going to invite a large number of people, and spread rumours as well, to join them in the shelters but when the specific chosen have entered, the doors will close and the stream of stragglers outside will be vaporised, at the same time all cities are scorched as well.

This way the knowledge of the bunkers will be lost and of course there will be no historical records of the grotesque iniquities of the last century or so. The following two generations will collapse into barbarism and when “the chosen” emerge from the bunkers in say 60 to 80 years they will have godlike status with their technologies.

There it is, I’ve said it! How’s that for dark outlook? :- )

Sounds like science fiction but all the elements are actually in position.

            All the best

          • One way to view this mess from the glass half full perspective is, if TPTB are hellbent on a doomsday wipe out scenario, then it’s neither here nor there because there is nothing we could do to stop it and if it happened we wouldn’t be around to see them choke and die on their own arrogant stupidity. Better to funnel our energy into exposing and resisting what we already know they are attempting to bring about.

If you think about it, the vast majority of the heavy doomer gestalt was born out of cointelpro operations, best exemplified by A. Jones and closely mirrored by other shady operations that pass for alt media. The FEMA camps ARE scary as a martial law option, likely to be triggered by an engineered and hyped biological false flag. All the rest is the same kind of endless fear mongering we got during the Cold War when TPTB had no intention of the west and USSR entering a major war, much less a nuclear war.

FWIW, the global economy is essentially an illusion that the global elite finally have complete control over on the macro scale. Keeping it propped up is no big deal as long as there are enough resources, it just becomes a shell game. It really does look like they do not intend to do a hard core collapse on the developed world, but a painful squeezing, absolutely yes. This assumes they don’t get fierce resistance to their new system – and sadly, the odds are most people are far too self absorbed and oblivious to resist.

The moral of the story is those of us who are awake are trapped in this Twilight Zone with zombies. There is your living science fiction story right there, Doug! LOL We’re the Kafka-esque characters. 😉

  9. Completely agree and great point. It’s a matter of time before TPTB begin putting even more bizarre substances in our food, water, air, vaccines. (btw, sorry delayed reply, I didn’t get a Disqus notice of a response, just stumbled onto this responding to another)
