Britain’s First Robot Security Guard Unveiled

Activist Post

Despite increasing concern over autonomous killer robots, Britain is proceeding with its first attempt at a robotic security guard. “Bob” is the result of a $12 million overall investment and will be put on trial at mega-security operator G4S.

Bob is the outcropping of a worldwide initiative into robotic security set to appear at prisons, care facilities, schools, or perhaps a neighborhood near you.

This is a short video that doesn’t reveal much detail, but based on other proposals, these robots could be equipped with facial recognition, gesture recognition, license plate scanners and GPS data for autonomous roving, database access, and reporting capabilities.
