30 Population Control Quotes That Show That The Elite Truly Believe That Humans Are A Plague Upon The Earth

Michael Snyder, Contributor
Activist Post

There is a clear consensus among the global elite that overpopulation is the primary cause of the most important problems that the world is facing and that something desperately needs to be done about it.  They truly believe that humans are a plague upon the earth and that we will literally destroy the planet if we are left to our own devices.

To the elite, everything from global warming to our growing economic problems can be directly traced back to the lack of population control.  They warn that if nothing is done about the exploding population, we will be facing a future full of poverty, war and suffering on a filthy, desolate planet.  They complain that it "costs too much" to keep elderly patients that are terminally ill alive, and they eagerly promote abortion for babies that are "not wanted" because they would be "too much of a burden" on society.  Anything that reduces the human population in any way is a good thing for those that believe in this philosophy.

This twisted philosophy is being promoted in our movies, in our television shows, in our music, in countless books, on many of the most prominent websites in the world, and it is being taught at nearly all of the most important colleges and universities on the planet.  The people promoting this philosophy have very, very deep pockets, and they are actually convinced that they are helping to "save the world" by trying to reduce the size of the human population.  In fact, many of them are entirely convinced that we are in a "life or death" struggle for the fate of the planet, and that if humanity does not willingly choose to embrace population control soon, then a solution will have to be "forced" upon them.

Yes, I know that all of this may sound like something out of a science fiction novel.  But there are a whole lot of people out there that are absolutely obsessed with this stuff, and many of them are in very prominent positions around the globe.

The following are 30 population control quotes which show that the elite truly believe that humans are a plague upon the earth and that a great culling is necessary...

1. UK Television Presenter Sir David Attenborough: "We are a plague on the Earth. It’s coming home to roost over the next 50 years or so. It’s not just climate change; it’s sheer space, places to grow food for this enormous horde. Either we limit our population growth or the natural world will do it for us, and the natural world is doing it for us right now"

2. Paul Ehrlich, a former science adviser to president George W. Bush and the author of "The Population Bomb": "To our minds, the fundamental cure, reducing the scale of the human enterprise (including the size of the population) to keep its aggregate consumption within the carrying capacity of Earth is obvious but too much neglected or denied"

3. Paul Ehrlich again, this time on the size of families: "Nobody, in my view, has the right to have 12 children or even three unless the second pregnancy is twins."

4. Dave Foreman, the co-founder of Earth First: "We humans have become a disease, the Humanpox."

5. CNN Founder Ted Turner: "A total world population of 250-300 million people, a 95% decline from present levels, would be ideal."

6. Japan’s Deputy Prime Minister Taro Aso about medical patients with serious illnesses: "You cannot sleep well when you think it’s all paid by the government. This won’t be solved unless you let them hurry up and die."

7. David Rockefeller: "The negative impact of population growth on all of our planetary ecosystems is becoming appallingly evident."

8. Environmental activist Roger Martin: "On a finite planet, the optimum population providing the best quality of life for all, is clearly much smaller than the maximum, permitting bare survival. The more we are, the less for each; fewer people mean better lives."

9. HBO personality Bill Maher: "I’m pro-choice, I’m for assisted suicide, I’m for regular suicide, I’m for whatever gets the freeway moving – that’s what I’m for. It’s too crowded, the planet is too crowded and we need to promote death."

10. MIT professor Penny Chisholm: "The real trick is, in terms of trying to level off at someplace lower than that 9 billion, is to get the birthrates in the developing countries to drop as fast as we can. And that will determine the level at which humans will level off on earth."

11. Julia Whitty, a columnist for Mother Jones: "The only known solution to ecological overshoot is to decelerate our population growth faster than it’s decelerating now and eventually reverse it—at the same time we slow and eventually reverse the rate at which we consume the planet’s resources. Success in these twin endeavors will crack our most pressing global issues: climate change, food scarcity, water supplies, immigration, health care, biodiversity loss, even war. On one front, we’ve already made unprecedented strides, reducing global fertility from an average 4.92 children per woman in 1950 to 2.56 today—an accomplishment of trial and sometimes brutally coercive error, but also a result of one woman at a time making her individual choices. The speed of this childbearing revolution, swimming hard against biological programming, rates as perhaps our greatest collective feat to date."

12. Colorado State University Professor Philip Cafaro in a paper entitled “Climate Ethics and Population Policy”: "Ending human population growth is almost certainly a necessary (but not sufficient) condition for preventing catastrophic global climate change. Indeed, significantly reducing current human numbers may be necessary in order to do so."

13. Professor of Biology at the University of Texas at Austin Eric R. Pianka: "I do not bear any ill will toward people. However, I am convinced that the world, including all humanity, WOULD clearly be much better off without so many of us."

14. Detroit News Columnist Nolan Finley: "Since the national attention is on birth control, here’s my idea: If we want to fight poverty, reduce violent crime and bring down our embarrassing drop-out rate, we should swap contraceptives for fluoride in Michigan’s drinking water.

We’ve got a baby problem in Michigan. Too many babies are born to immature parents who don’t have the skills to raise them, too many are delivered by poor women who can’t afford them, and too many are fathered by sorry layabouts who spread their seed like dandelions and then wander away from the consequences."

15. John Guillebaud, professor of family planning at University College London: "The effect on the planet of having one child less is an order of magnitude greater than all these other things we might do, such as switching off lights. An extra child is the equivalent of a lot of flights across the planet."

16. Democrat strategist Steven Rattner: "WE need death panels. Well, maybe not death panels, exactly, but unless we start allocating health care resources more prudently — rationing, by its proper name — the exploding cost of Medicare will swamp the federal budget."

17. Matthew Yglesias, a business and economics correspondent for Slate, in an article entitled "The Case for Death Panels, in One Chart": "But not only is this health care spending on the elderly the key issue in the federal budget, our disproportionate allocation of health care dollars to old people surely accounts for the remarkable lack of apparent cost effectiveness of the American health care system. When the patient is already over 80, the simple fact of the matter is that no amount of treatment is going to work miracles in terms of life expectancy or quality of life."

18. Planned Parenthood Founder Margaret Sanger: "All of our problems are the result of overbreeding among the working class."

19. U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg: "Frankly I had thought that at the time Roe was decided, there was concern about population growth and particularly growth in populations that we don’t want to have too many of."

20. Planned Parenthood Founder Margaret Sanger: "The most merciful thing that the large family does to one of its infant members is to kill it."

21. Salon columnist Mary Elizabeth Williams in an article entitled "So What If Abortion Ends Life?": "All life is not equal. That’s a difficult thing for liberals like me to talk about, lest we wind up looking like death-panel-loving, kill-your-grandma-and-your-precious-baby storm troopers. Yet a fetus can be a human life without having the same rights as the woman in whose body it resides."

22. Alberto Giubilini of Monash University in Melbourne, Australia and Francesca Minerva of the University of Melbourne in a paper published in the Journal of Medical Ethics: "[W]hen circumstances occur after birth such that they would have justified abortion, what we call after-birth abortion should be permissible. … [W]e propose to call this practice ‘after-birth abortion’, rather than ‘infanticide,’ to emphasize that the moral status of the individual killed is comparable with that of a fetus … rather than to that of a child.  Therefore, we claim that killing a newborn could be ethically permissible in all the circumstances where abortion would be. Such circumstances include cases where the newborn has the potential to have an (at least) acceptable life, but the well-being of the family is at risk."

23. Nina Fedoroff, a key adviser to Hillary Clinton: "We need to continue to decrease the growth rate of the global population; the planet can't support many more people."

24. Barack Obama's primary science adviser, John P. Holdren: "A program of sterilizing women after their second or third child, despite the relatively greater difficulty of the operation than vasectomy, might be easier to implement than trying to sterilize men.

The development of a long-term sterilizing capsule that could be implanted under the skin and removed when pregnancy is desired opens additional possibilities for coercive fertility control. The capsule could be implanted at puberty and might be removable, with official permission, for a limited number of births."

25. David Brower, the first Executive Director of the Sierra Club: "Childbearing [should be] a punishable crime against society, unless the parents hold a government license ... All potential parents [should be] required to use contraceptive chemicals, the government issuing antidotes to citizens chosen for childbearing."

26. Thomas Ferguson, former official in the U.S. State Department Office of Population Affairs: "There is a single theme behind all our work–we must reduce population levels. Either governments do it our way, through nice clean methods, or they will get the kinds of mess that we have in El Salvador, or in Iran or in Beirut. Population is a political problem. Once population is out of control, it requires authoritarian government, even fascism, to reduce it…"

27. Mikhail Gorbachev: "We must speak more clearly about sexuality, contraception, about abortion, about values that control population, because the ecological crisis, in short, is the population crisis. Cut the population by 90% and there aren’t enough people left to do a great deal of ecological damage."

28. Jacques Costeau: "In order to stabilize world population, we must eliminate 350,000 people per day. It is a horrible thing to say, but it is just as bad not to say it."

29. Finnish environmentalist Pentti Linkola: "If there were a button I could press, I would sacrifice myself without hesitating if it meant millions of people would die."

30. Prince Phillip, husband of Queen Elizabeth II and co-founder of the World Wildlife Fund: "In the event that I am reincarnated, I would like to return as a deadly virus, in order to contribute something to solve overpopulation."

There is so much more that could be said about all of this.

Does Michael Snyder write anything besides countdown articles? I swear everything I read of his is a top 10 or top 20 list of some kind. I can see an occasional one here and there, but jeez, this is getting excessive.

Do people actually think that overpopulation isn't a problem? I think parents should have 2 kids as well, replace yourself and your spouse, and that's it. Having more than 2 is just irresponsible. Humans treat the earth like they own it, when in fact we're just a simple species on it meant to co-exist with all the others. Instead we rape the planet, push other species to extinction, and extract all resources for our own benefit at the expense of all other creatures, inclusing other humans. I agree entirely that the human species is a plague on the planet. We dont abide by any of nature's rules, and think we can engineer our way past nature. It may work for a few thousand years or more, but unless we start to play nice with the earth nature will retaliate.

ughh how could you say that?! It is the way we live, not the amount of people!! I can't believe that some people on earth today would rather kill other's, promote death and 'ration' the right to have babies rather than change their own lifestyle!! people need to fucking WAKE UP!! Yes we are meant to co exist with nature, but under the current system we simply don't have a chance to! governments dig for oil, manufacture copious amounts of shit for idiots to buy and then chuck it back into the land, and cut down tree's for paper.. HEMP is the answer to all of this. It can make paper, plastic, materials, OIL!!.. and it's 100% eco friendly, its good for the earth and its good for us, has 1000's of medicinal uses including curing cancer, so there goes a fair few medical bills right? well the current system want to keep hemp unknown because without all the big bills and expenses coming back to them, they wouldn't be in the richest 1%, and that wouldnt make them feel very happy or powerful.. shallow fucking idiots!.. we could all live together and prosper with nature, but instead the current system want to kill 90% of the planet off and were supposed to let them?! we need to break off from the system and get back to living in smaller communities, growing our own food (NO EUGENIC GMO'S!)it's a disgrace to nature itself try and ration babies, or have it be that a human being needs to ask 'the state' for permission to be fertile for a while?? this is not natural! doe's this sound like freedom?!...

Look at the way we behave. We act like animals.

Is it any wonder they look at us that way?

Maybe if we close our eyes, hold our breath and keep our bleeding heart's desire to see everyone live as we've lived exponential population growth won't be a problem! Sorry folks, you can't have infinite growth on a finite planet. We can have nature right size us and react retro-actively, or we can get out of our denial and pro-actively begin to put limits to our growth. Either way, like it or not, things will change.

Growing up in
California, there were 5 million people; today there are 36 million.
It is too crowded, bringing heavy traffic, road rage, pollution, and a loss of open spaces.

There are too many people; reducing the population, which is best achieved thru creating a self-limiting middle class (ie it requires more equality) and providing contraception to those unable to afford it and who would prefer a smaller family they can afford.

This is not a diabolical conspiracy to kill 6 billion people but a common sense recognition that we live on a limited planet with finite resources. Overpopulation leads to aggressive behavior, wars, and plagues.
We have already degraded our air, soil, and water seeking to meet the needs of 7 billion humans. Those who think we can infinitely grow our population without destroying the earth are insane.

Those who suffer the most from overpopulation are the poorest and most vulnerable to food insecurity, disease, and lack of resources.

I hate these activist elitists calling others who see and want to deal with the problem "global elitists." This is a strawman argument, using a blanket generalization distilled into THEY want to reduce the population and undo the destruction of the environment, which any sane person understands is necessary if human society is to survive without brutal resource wars (Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Iran), mass starvation (tens of millions each year), and a filthy, polluted environment leading to despair and illness and violence.

If that doesn't concern you, you are blind and cold-hearted. No one wants a release from an overcrowded world more than the masses of poor.

To create a strong middle class, the best path has been the social democracies of Europe, Canada, Australia, Japan, and other nations which have learned that a prosperous middle class will limit its own number of children without force, as a rational choice. Raise the poor into the middle class and they will do the same.

The solution to a real problem is a revolution against the inequality which maldistributes the world's resources in favor of the rich and at the expense of the poor. We need to follow the economic path of those nations which have begun voluntarily to reduce their population.

Exactly Anonymous @2:16pm. This is NOT freedom and this most certainly is not natural. The elites are the ones destroying our earth - spraying aerosols in our once beautiful skies, poisoning our water supply and tainting the soil with glyphosate.

Gorbachev - he shit. In Russia he is considered a traitor. The Russian government is making great efforts to increase the population of after dashing 90-ies. In Russia the birth rate began exceed the mortality - this is a national priority. The government calls for a return to the cult of healthy family with many children. Granted maternity capital for the second and subsequent children, to ban the promotion of a "culture" of the LGBT among minors. Russia considers population growth is a necessary condition for economic growth.

All argue about the right and wrongs of population control, but I fail to see any answer to the question "Is it happening?". People speak of "The Elite" like they are supernatural beings, these are men and women just like anyone else. The difference between us is finacial, we bleed the same blood, and feel the same pain.. But who is the one choosing who goes and who stays, and what necessity do they base it on?

Cavalary said...

Two parts due to the character limit, because when I see such nonsense...

The bigger problem are the people like you, which unfortunately are the tremendous majority, whether they believe it's some sort of evil conspiracy or just think with nothing but their gonads and are absolutely incapable of seeing how much of a problem population is. And the other problem is that the "elites" are either far from being as determined to do something about this as you think, perhaps in large part because an increasing population is required to maintain the current economic model and the vast majority of them care for that far more than for the ecosystem, or they're just not agreeing on how to go about it so they keep pulling in different directions, because considering how easy to manipulate and control the vast majority of people are, if these "elites" would be acting on a clear plan to drastically lower population, it'd have started dropping significantly long ago and the planet would definitely be far better off. Whether humans, not counting said "elites", would also be better off or not would depend entirely on the method used to reduce population.

The fact is that, while the top 2% do use some half of the resources that are currently used by humans, some 80% live in poverty, on various levels, and yet we still use 150% of what can be sustainably harvested. Align everyone to the "average" 18%, which include you and me and most everyone else reading this, and we'd be at 250% with the current population. And that doesn't just mean that we need a reduction to 40% of current levels, but to even less than that, because a lot of damage has been done already and the planet needs to be able to regenerate, plus that humans are just one species of many and the others that we share this planet with need to have enough to live good lives as well.
Now, of course, there are ways to reduce a person's footprint, and a lot can be done by reducing that of the ones from the top, but that of the many who now live in poverty will need to be increased significantly if they are to have good lives, regardless of the advancements in green technologies. Of course, we should strive to reduce pollution, try to entirely eliminate substances that are harmful in themselves and not only because of the immense quantities that are currently used, increase reusing and recycling, improve efficiency and so on, but at the same time we shouldn't reduce freedom by this, so we should be few enough so each person will have the resources and also the space available to lead what they'd see as a good life, within reason, without this having a noticeable negative impact on the planet's ecosystem.

So we have three options here:
1. We move the majority of the human population to another planet. No population control here, but for one it'd just delay the inevitable, as continuing without population control would mean we'd be right back where we started on two planets instead of one before long. Plus that, of course, applying this solution is currently impossible and will remain impossible for a very long time.
2. We kill the majority of the human population, or let them die unnecessarily through the lack of access to resources, medical attention and so on. This is what you seem to believe the "elite" is up to and what some may unfortunately be up to if the problem isn't solved otherwise. It would be a quick and easy solution, but of course an undesirable one, so in order to avoid it we must reduce the population through other means, so there will be no excuse for it... And so nature itself won't take care of the problem for us by doing this in one way or another, if said "elites" you talk about won't manage it first.
3. We drastically reduce birth rates by any means necessary, perhaps to the minimum necessary to avoid a genetic bottleneck, and apply fair and objective eugenics rules to determine which few would still be allowed to have children, selecting for proven resistance to disease, extremely high mental or physical abilities and special talents. Free sterilizations, free or heavily subsidized birth control, sexual education focusing on birth control (not counting abstinence as an option), direct rewards offered for those who'd willingly be childfree, but also extremely harsh punishments for those who'd still try to have children despite not being allowed to.

I'd much rather go for option 3, thank you very much, to both eventually reduce the population to sustainable levels and still maintain or even continue to increase both human lifespan and standard of living... But then there are people like you who are unwilling or unable to see what's right before their eyes, pushing us all towards solution number 2, in one way or another.

The truth is that they are supernatural beings to my friend above.

Satan and his seed are here on earth from the beginning.

Satan's goal is to get back to the heavens from where he was cast down. That's what NASA is all about. The portals are closed to him presently.

His seed are hybrids; half man and half demon literally. Fallen angels/Nephalim.

They used to eat us before the flood, so why be surprised they want to be rid of us now.

People don't believe this unfortunately. If they get their way, there will be no one left for Christ to save.

Let's stop calling them elites.

Shees...God commanded us to be FRUITFUL and MULTIPLY! He never revoked that command. Do you think God is near-sighted? "Oh dang, I should have added more resources to the planet, I didn't think all these people were going to be a problem!"

Nephilim? Go back and do a critical reading of Genesis 6:1-7 again. They were extinguished in the flood my friend. These "holier than thou" folks making these quotes are nothing more than atheistic (a religion of its own, whose god is themselves) prideful arrogant and wicked men who are without Christ (the very definition of antiChrist, see 1 John 2:18, 2:22, 4:3, and 2 John 7, the only places it is defined and appears).

Isn't an informed ongoing discussion around workable population levels reasonable?
If you have a two bedroomed house, how many people do want living with you?
It's the same thing with the planet - isn't it?

There are monsters among us and by reading most of the comments here it is the people on this thread and the people that made the above quotes. For all of you people that think there are to many people in the world please do the rest of us a favor and jump off something tall. Then your un embalmed body can be used to fertilize earth.
