27 Years: No Deaths from Vitamins, 3 Million from Prescription Drugs

Anthony Gucciardi
Activist Post

Over the past 27 years — the complete timeframe that the data has been available —  there have been 0 deaths as a result of vitamins and over 3 million deaths related to prescription drug use. In fact, going back 54 years there have only been 11 claims of vitamin-related death, all of which provided no substantial evidence to link vitamins to the cause of death. The news comes after a recent statistically analysis found that pharmaceutical drug deaths now outnumber traffic fatalities in the US.

In 2009, drugs exceeded the amount of traffic-related deaths, killing at least 37,485 people nationwide.

The findings go against the claims of mainstream medical ‘experts’  and mainstream media outlets who often push the idea that multivitamins are detrimental to your health, and that prescription drugs are the only science-backed option to improving your health. While essential nutrients like vitamin D are continually being shown to slash your risk of disease such as diabetes and cancer, prescription pharmaceuticals are continually being linked to such conditions. In fact, the top-selling therapeutic class pharmaceutical drug has been tied to the development of diabetes and even suicide, and whistleblowers are just now starting to speak out despite studies as far back as the 80s highlighting the risks.

Mainstream medical health officials were recently forced to speak out over the danger of antipsychotic drugs, which millions of children have been prescribed since 2009. U.S. pediatric health advisers blew the whistle over the fact that these pharmaceuticals can lead to diabetes and even suicide, the very thing they aim to prevent. What is even more troubling is that half of all Americans will be diagnosed with a mental condition during their lifetime thanks to lack of diagnosis guidelines currently set by the medical establishment, of which many cases will lead to the prescription of antipsychotics and other similar medications.

Covering up the side effects

In order to protect sales, the link between suicide and antipsychotic drugs was completely covered up by Eli Lilly & Co, the makers of Prozac. Despite research stretching as far back as the 1980s finding that Prozac actually leads to suicide, the company managed to hide the evidence until a Harvard psychiatrist leaked the information into the press. The psychiatrist, Martin Teicher, stated that the American people were being treated like guinea pigs in a massive pharmaceutical experiment.

Greedy and oftentimes prescription-happy doctors are handing out antipsychotic medication like candy to adults and young children alike. In 2008, antipsychotics became the top-selling therapeutic class prescription drug in the United States and grossing over $14 billion in sales.

Antipsychotic drugs are not the only dangerous pharmaceuticals. The average drug label contains 70 side effects, though many popular pharmaceuticals have been found to contain 100 to 125. Some drugs, prescribed by doctors to supposedly improve your health, come with over 525 negative reactions.

Ritalin, for example, has been linked to conditions including:
  • Increased blood pressure
  • Increased heart rate
  • Increased body temperature
  • Increased alertness
  • Suppressed appetite
Perhaps the hundreds of negative side effects is part of the reason why the FDA announced last year that it is pulling more than 500 cold and allergy off the market due to health concerns. Prescription drugs kill more people than traffic accidents, and come with up to 525 negative side effects. Avoiding these drugs and utilizing high quality organic alternatives like whole food-based multivitamins and green superfoods will lead to a total health transformation without harsh side effects and an exponentially increased death risk.

In principle, I agree. Pharmaceuticals (even over-the-counter pain medications) are generally dangerous, often acutely, and vitamins are generally less so.

But you're ignoring numerous studies on increased risk of death and morbidity from supplementation with vitamin E, iron, iodine, selenium, even vitamins C and D. Not to mention all the wacky stuff sold as teas and health foods (chlorella, poisonous plant parts like wild cherry bark, etc.)

A "vitamin" in pill form is removed from its proper context, in quantities your body is not designed to handle. Most are synthetic chemicals, not even in the proper compounds found in nature. At best, most are useless. At worst, some are dangerous and keep people from eating enough fruits and vegetables.

I understand the catch-22 for vitamin makers, but there needs to be more regulation for anything sold to be ingested – how about more publicly-funded research and support for supplement makers? Real health doesn't come from a pill. It comes from fruits, vegetables, water, sunshine and exercise.

I think one of the main problems is that doctors don't fully inform their patients of all the potential side effects of the medications they are prescribing, and when the patient questions the doctor about any side effects they are experiencing the doctors just brush the patient's concern aside.

Also, when a patient talks to a doctor about the nutritional supplements they are taking, the doctor just suggests that the supplements are expensive and ineffective so in a sense the doctor is telling the patient that they are "just peeing their money away."

It takes some searching but once a person finds a high quality, highly absorb-able, and balanced nutritional supplement and they take enough for their body weight, they'll see some amazing results within a short period of time.

vitamins and herbal supplements are EXTREMELY LESS DANGEROUS! did you not just read how "0" people died in 27 years, and probably never? Stop drinking the koolaid and quit your job at whatever pharmaceutacle corp you work for.

I've been in the supplement industry for over 20 years and the safety of these things has been shown repeatedly. Most of the supplements coming out today have numerous (read thousands) clinical studies to prove their effectiveness.

The drug companies have a problem with their modus operandi. It is quite literally the wrong approach to medicine. Inherent in their business models are certain allowable amounts of death. Those studies you mention about the increased morbidity rates are junk science I can assure you.

Go choke on that.

Now why do I get the feeling someone is trying to kill me? Is knowledge turning me into a paranoid schizo or is my natural instinct for self preservation kicking in?

Big Pharma - killer drugs
Monsantos & Bayer - GM food
Big Agra - dead food
Fuckishima - radiation
Corexit - GM mutating bacteria
Chemtrails - God only knows what's in there
Smart meters - RF radiation - cancer?
TSA - Backscatter radiation - cancer?
MSG - makes you fat and unhealthy
Aspertame - cancer
TV - makes you stupid
Fluoride - makes you stupid and docile
Chlorine - poisons you
Mercury- poisons you

I could go on and on but you get the picture.

Um... wow. Any inclination I had to read your reaction to Anonymous #1's post with an open mind kinda vanished a couple sentences in. The level of hostility, anger and exaggeration in your post really destroyed your message, IMHO. Was that what you intended to do?

Boy Anonymous sure gets around to a lot of sites.

The first anonymous is mostly right, but I doubt you could find any vitamin in pill form that deserves to be called dangerous. Useless maybe. Fruits and veggies are of course much better sources since they have more balanced nutrients.

Anyway yeah it is pretty damn sad so many people die every year from taking toxic "medicine" and yet our country is so overwhelmed for fear of death from "terrorism". Maybe the drug companies ought to be labeled terrorists themselves, keeping the masses in fear of diseases they invent so they keep making a profit with their "cures".

My Brother was killed from drugs the doctors told him to take for a kidney problem. Sorry the medical profession uses so many drugs that kill so many people!

Some vitamins may have negative side effects if you take them in large amounts. The answer is follow the directions. Most drugs cause damage to some part of the body all the time!

Eat as much organically grown food as possible and wash the rest before eating.

My son, age 33, died the end of August. He had been prescribed Serequel XR for 6 months, but then the doc added Latuda in July (a month before his death). I am still waiting for toxicology reports. When I check a drug interaction website, it said that these 2 increase each other's toxicity and have a heavy impact on the central nervous system. All I've been told "officially" so far is that my son had lung congestion and pulmonary edema. Still waiting...

Anonymous comments should NOT be published. If you can't autograph your comments, please keep them to yourself. And anyway, why on earth would one tamper with something which has no history of causing harm, just information which suggests that a vitamin glutton might suffer from the gluttony? Don't fix something not broken. And don't break it just so you have an excuse to fix it!!

Great article. I run a retreat in Kentucky and am wondering if I could post this on my website www.HomeforHealth.net. Thanks

Not really true. Though rare, several children have died from heavy metal poisoning due to children's vitamins with iron.

There's too many people on the planet according to the global leaders. The prescription drugs are doing a great job!
They even have people clamoring for prescription drug benefits for reduced rates on the population scrubbing drugs that cost them about 2cents to make!
Do you really think this info is going to sway them?
No way !!!
The metal in the vaccines makes sure we have plenty of people happy to work at Arby's,and Taco Bell!
Of course they kill people. That's the idea.
Does anyone think they care about keeping you alive?
I mean the ATF buys guns and gives them to the criminals and Narco gangs.
C'mon kiddies.
Why is anyone surprised?
The OWS thing should just have the blanket statement...
We know you are the real terrorists.

Thank you for clearing this up. Someone once said that paranoids are the only one's who notice things anymore. Maybe it is best to be paranoid. Can one get pills for that too?

I WAS interested in your blog until I came across this page. Your statement is simply not correct. There have been many poisonings from fat-soluable vitamins, most notably iron. Here's the evidence:

Don't forget that Gary Null came very near to killing himself with his own Power Meal, which was accidentally formulated to 2,000 times the daily recommended allowance of vitamin D - http://www.upi.com/Health_News/2010/04/28/Health-guru-sues-over-Vitamin-D-overdose/UPI-27541272476523/
