Cops Confiscate Cameras at Ohio Congressman’s Town Hall (Video)

Kurt Nimmo

A congressman from Ohio had cops grab the cameras of constituents during a town hall meeting. Steve Chabot, a Republican, had cell phones and cameras confiscated in order to “prevent an embarrassing Youtube video from making the rounds,” according to Carlos Miller, who runs a blog documenting efforts by the state to stifle the First Amendment rights of photographers.

See video of the incident below.

Police said the cameras were taken “to protect the constituents.” A local television station, however, was allowed to videotape the meeting and the brazen move by Chabot and the cops.

Think Progress, the Soros-funded media operation, also reported the incident, primarily because Chabot is an establishment Republican and protesters outside the event called for more taxes. The Democrat blog reported:
Media were permitted to record the event, making the ban on citizen cameras all the more baffling. Clearly no “security” threat existed; rather, as one of Chabot’s staffers told ThinkProgress, they wanted to “prevent” people from “making a show” of the event. Indeed, Chabot and his staff were worried enough about citizens voicing their anger at his policies that they only accepted pre-screened questions chosen by the congressman’s staff.
This should not be perplexing – the controlled corporate media can be trusted to not embarrass Rep. Chabot, at least not on points that matter, while citizens cannot.

It is also interesting that Think Progress attributes the current economic implosion to Chabot and the Republicans when Democrat Obama is in the White House and allegedly in control.

In fact, neither Obama or the Republicans control the economy. It is controlled by a Federal Reserve that has doubled the monetary base since last August.

The allies did not destroy the NSADP.
The NSADP moved to the US.
America did not win the cold war.
The USSR moved to America.

Excellent coverage. This should stir things up a bit. At least the "official" press were able to film it.

we can either fight them now at each small unconstitutional act, Or when they have joined together to search our homes

Join the oath keepers now. That officer was breaking the very oath he swore to uphold " the constitution". When our own elected officials become the "Enemy Forign or Domestic" that office is sworn to protect "us" from Them

LOL! Kind of defeats the idea of a "Town Hall meeting", does it not?? What a joke. Anyone who was at that meeting or hears about this has no excuse to vote for this thug. Goons and thugs, bullies and creeps, that is who the government class is these days, probably always were. A "legalized" mafia, "voted" in by gullible trained sheep.

...accepting pre-screened questions only. Maybe he learned that on his paid vacation (by a foreign lobby) to a foreign country [check the list].

p.s. kudos to our MSM for the coverup

Since when does a local "law enforcement" officer (brownshirt) take orders from a U.S. Congressman who has NO AUTHORITY inside the borders of even his home State?
Since when does a U.S. Congressman have authority to aid and abet the violation of any American's Constitutionally-protected rights (freedom peaceably to assemble and right to due process of law in taking of private property)?
These passive, compliant "citizens" ought to be filing affidavits with the U.S. Attorney, charging the officer, the Congressman, and the Congressman's staff members, with violating their civil rights (see 18 U.S.Code 241).
The U.S. House of Representatives ought to bring charges against Chabot and bar him from the House proceedings.
If these "citizens" lie down and accept this criminal abuse, then they deserve what they get.

Sheesh folks, what do you expect? This is government we're talking about. The entire structure is premised on violence and coercion. Don't be surprised when you then see some of it. As Mencken put it, "People do not expect to find chastity in a whorehouse. Why, then, do they expect to find honesty and humanity in government, a congeries of institutions whose modus operandi consists of lying, cheating, stealing, and if need be, murdering those who resist?"
