Pollard blames the CIA for ‘anti-Israel’ bias after the leak to The Times
Mike Huckabee, the Israel-first U.S. ambassador to Israel, should either resign or be fired after his meeting with Jonathan Pollard, the American who spied on behalf of Israel, a former CIA officer said.

John Kiriakou, the former officer, told Clayton Morris’s “Redacted” that Pollard provided the Israeli government tens of thousands of pages of documents that were “classified at the Top Secret level” that the Israelis gave at the time to the former Soviet Union.

“It’s not just that he spied for Israel and Israel learned our secrets,” he said. “Israel took those secrets and traded those secrets to the Soviet Union…our greatest enemy on the planet at the time.”
He said Pollard could have been executed for his crimes, so for Huckabee to meet with him off the books in July and not get permission from the White House or the Office of the Secretary of State is “unforgivable.”
Kiriakou noted that he has worked in U.S. embassies, and it is standard procedure for ambassadors to get permission before meeting even semi-controversial individuals.
He said if he were Pollard, he would have been afraid to take the meeting in the embassy out of fear of being arrested.
“I would ask Ambassador Huckabee: What possible good for American foreign policy did you think this was going to accomplish?” he said. “And my only response remains that Ambassador Huckabee should resign.”
Rep. Joaquin Castro, D-Texas, posted on X that Pollard is a convicted traitor who “provided highly sensitive national security information to the Israeli government. He did grave harm to our country. He has never shown a degree of remorse for his crimes. It’s unacceptable that Ambassador Huckabee secretly met with Mr. Pollard, a convicted traitor, at the United States Embassy.”
Max Blumenthal, The Greyzone journalist, posted a video interview with Pollard, who explained that he reached out to Huckabee to thank him for everything he did for him while in prison and for his kindness towards his wife.
Blumenthal posted: “Pollard blames the CIA for revealing the meeting, calling it a ‘hit’ on Huckabee. He complains the CIA is ‘anti-Israel’ and must be ‘purged.’”
