When, How, and Why Jesus Became White

Science Reveals How Jesus Probably Looked explains that forensic science has concluded that Jesus did not look European because he was not from Europe! He looked African because the “Middle East” was considered part of Africa until the Suez Canal was built in 1869.

Why Do Popes Worship The Black Madonna? shows that the Black Madonna is the most revered religious icon across Europe, worshipped for centuries by millions of people — including popes. Acknowledgement of the mother of Jesus as Black means recognition of Jesus (and God) as Black.

So, when, how, and why did Jesus become White in America? Americans supposedly revere Jesus for his character. Would they still love him if he were Black? If not, what are they really worshipping?

How Jesus Became Widely Accepted as Being White

Why Jesus Became “White”

The Bible Is Black History explains in “Whitewashing the Bible”:

“The Bible is the only Afro-Asiatic sacred text of these four great religions….Modern images of biblical characters are not Black Africans or dark-skinned Asians; they are all White Europeans. It is astounding how this has been accepted as factual by most of the world since the 1500s, given the fact that neither Judaism nor Christianity was founded in Europe. In truth, no major religion was ever founded on the continent of Europe….Unlike its scriptural contemporaries, the Bible has been entirely co-opted by Europeans as a sacred text written exclusively by White people, about White people, and for White people.”

Under “Identity Theft and the Emergence of the White Male Supremacy System”, the book asks,

“When there is such irrefutable evidence that the biblical Hebrews were people of color, mostly Black people, one must wonder why has there been a sustained effort to depict them as White people? When the descendants of Japheth — Europeans — wrote themselves into the biblical narrative, they intentionally erased Black Hebrew identity and replaced it with their own, which represents the most pernicious instance of identity theft in human history.

The only other instance that comes close is the whitewashing of Egyptian history. Other than that, there are no examples of historians successfully changing the skin color of an entire people. They did not alter any other historical, cultural, geographical, or even tribal aspects of biblical faith history; only the skin color of the Hebrew people. They have no problem admitting that these people were Hebrews, but they erroneously insist that they were White Hebrews.”

The book explains why Jesus is misrepresented as White:

“Painting the biblical Hebrews White from Black was necessary for the founding and maintaining the White Male Supremacy System….

Isabel Wilkerson, in her book, Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents, describes the American caste system as a socially constructed human hierarchy based on skin color, with white skin occupying the top tier and black skin at the bottom. She argues that the initiation of such systems of domination, whether they occur in India, Germany, or the United States require a foundational pillar upon which to build to justify its hierarchical subjugation…in the Euro-Christian tradition, the Bible is the Holy Book that is purposely twisted to accommodate the American caste system that’s based on race.

She contends, ‘In both countries [United States and India], the subordinate castes were consigned to the bottom, seen as deserving of their debasement, owing to the sins of the past. And so we have what could be called the first pillar of caste, Divine Will and the Laws of Nature, the first of the organizing principles inherent in any caste system’.”

The book adds:

“Of the great world religions, the Judeo-Christian tradition was the most practical to use as the groundwork upon which to build the White Males Supremacy System. The system preferred Christianity because it was the religion with which the architects of the White Male Supremacy System were most familiar, and its appeal was broader than any other religions of its time. Most importantly, it exalted a European image of a White man as the Son of God and the Savior of the world. This religion was much easier for them to corrupt for their evil intentions.”

The Bible Is Black History points out that when the Europeans came to the Western hemisphere, they slaughtered Native Americans and abducted Africans and transported them to the Americas where they sold them into the cruelest form of servitude the world has ever seen. It explains, “Prior to American colonization, Europeans never identified themselves as the White race; they distinguished themselves according to nationality — Dutch, Scottish, English, Irish, Italian, and other European nationalities. It was not until the colonization of America that skin color, or race, became important. Race was made an issue for psychological, economic, political, religious, and later, social purposes. Isabel Wilkerson observed, “The idea of race is a recent phenomenon in human history. It dates to the start of the transatlantic slave trade and thus to the subsequent caste system that arose from slavery.”

The book explains that because White indentured servants had more in common with African slaves than with wealthy Whites, they bonded together in a powerful militia in Bacon’s Rebellion in 1676. The militia captured Jamestown, the capital of Virginia, and burned it to the ground. Bacon’s rebellion inspired many more rebellions in which White indentured servants and enslaved Africans rose up against rich Whites.

The book adds,

“The powerful display of the White and Black underclasses uniting for a common cause so shook the ruling class that laws were enacted to prevent interracial unification. It became illegal and ultimately a social taboo for Blacks and White to have any civil discourse beyond a master-slave arrangement. The White elite further co-opted the poor Whites by elevating their status; giving them power and opportunities solely on the basis of their whiteness. Thus, the concept of American racism was invented. It was in colonial America that humanity was reduced to race or skin color, with the White race being the superior race…..Initially the color lines was established to separate poor Whites from enslaved Blacks by creating enmity between the two to keep them from uniting in their fight for justice and equality.”

So, the invention of race was a divide-and-conquer strategy of class warfare. Scottish-American lawyer Jacqueline Battalora explains in her book Birth of a White Nation: The Invention of White People and Its Relevance Today that the concept of “White” as a race was invented in 1681 for political reasons.

“Birth of a White Nation is a fascinating book on race in America that begins with an exploration of the moment in time when “white people,” as a separate and distinct group of humanity, were invented through legislation and the enactment of laws. The book provides a thorough examination of the underlying reasons as well as the ways in which “white people” were created. It also explains how the creation of this distinction divided laborers and ultimately served the interests of the elite. …Finally, the book demonstrates how the social construction and legal enactment of “white people” has ultimately compromised the humanity of those so labeled.”

She was shocked to find that the concept of “White” people did not exist before 1681! The concept of race was invented to divide workers and ensure the power of the 1%!

Italians, Irish, and Jews were not considered “White” when they first came to America. This video explains the invention of “Whites”: The Origin of the Race Concept.

Benjamin Franklin pointed out in his Observations Concerning the Increase of Mankind, 1751,

“24….in Europe, the Spaniards, Italians, French, Russians and Swedes, are generally of what we call a swarthy Complexion; as are the Germans also, the Saxons only excepted, who with the English, make the principal Body of White People on the Face of the Earth.”

The Significance of A White Jesus

The Bible Is Black History explains:

“The White Male Supremacy System’s doctrine also formed the hermeneutical framework that gave rise to the biblical theology that undergirds its premise. When the entire Bible is viewed through a racist hermeneutic, it is easy to depict the biblical heroes as White and interpret Ham’s curse as turning him black and subjecting him; thus, all Black people to eternal servitude to his White brothers, regardless of the absurdity of such a depiction.

As pointed out in the introduction of this book, this racist hermeneutic has caused some interpreters to read racist notions into the biblical text that are not there. For example, they color-coded the names of Noah’s sons to fit their hierarchical order of humanity. For them, the name Ham mean hot or black, even though Ham received his name before the curse. Shem is dusty or light brown, and Japheth means beautiful or white.

These definitions are widely accepted, even among highly trained biblical scholars who are well versed in the biblical languages. The truth is, the names of Noah’s sons have nothing to do with skin color; they suggest character and destiny. In reality, Ham means father of a multitude; Shem means renowned or famous, and Japheth means may be expanded, enlargement or increasing territory. This racist hermeneutic has misinterpreted scriptural tests throughout the Bible….

As early as the beginning of the 1600s, a theology for White Males Supremacy was being developed by the White church.”

The book points out:

“The most important theological image in the White Male Supremacy System is that of White Jesus. By their perverted logic, if the White race is the ‘master race,’ then the Savior of the world has to be a White man. If the Son of God is White, then God must be White. The entire theology of White Male Supremacy revolves around the whiteness of Jesus.

If Jesus’ whiteness were eliminated, the theological foundation of the White Male Supremacy System would be threatened. If His racial identity is not White, then White Male Supremacy has no deity with which to racially identify. As long as Jesus is a White man, he remains the archetype for supremacy, power, rightness, and divinity for all White men. The teachings of Jesus are of no consequence in the White Male Supremacy System; It is his whiteness that holds all the significance.

It is impossible for the White Male Supremacy System to accept God incarnating God’s Self in any other gender or any other race, especially the Black race because according to their doctrine, the Black race is supposed to be at the bottom of the human hierarchy. For the White Male Supremacy System to remain vital, it must maintain the image of White Jesus.

The White Jesus image is relentlessly proliferated in every corner of American Culture….The effects….keep the image of White Jesus at the forefront of the world’s consciousness, reinforcing the notion that God is White. Also, White Jesus is extremely profitable, and one can only imagine how sales of all things Jesus would be affected if He was depicted in His truer human form.”

Time To Drop The Myth of White Supremacy Now

Robert Jones exposes racism in the White Church in his book. In his article “Let’s Celebrate this Fourth of July without the Myth of White Christian Innocence”, he takes on the Myth of White Supremacy.

White Supremacy is based on the fiction that Europeans and White Americans created everything of value in the world. It maintains that Black Americans have no history before slavery and have contributed nothing to civilization. White Supremacy ignores the many gifts of the 500 Native Nations on this continent for over 10,000 years, including the Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) whose ancient system inspired the US Constitution.

Real change will happen only when the Myth of White Supremacy is abandoned. The following articles give just a hint of what’s missing in our history which would obliterate all claims of White Supremacy.
