Let Gov. Hochul and Albany know where you stand, March for Medical Freedom, 1/5/22
“Children’s Health Defense New York is partnering with dozens of organizations across the state for the Medical Freedom March in Albany, the state capital, on January 5 for the opening day of the 2021 legislative session and Governor Kathy Hochul’s first State-of-the-State Address.
There are dozens of bills that that we intend to stop. They read like a drug company’s Christmas wish list, including mandating new vaccines, taking away parents’ right to even know what shots are given to our children, eliminating medical privacy for adults, eliminating religious exemptions from vaccine mandates for college and employment (religious exemptions for school children were eliminated in 2019), there is even a bill to allow the Governor to imprison at will anyone suspected of being a public health risk!
The two most threatening bills are Assembly bill A8378, that will require all children to get Covid shots to attend school, and Senate Bill S75 which would force all adult vaccination records into a statewide database. The threats are real and imminent to our children’s health, and our basic civil rights.
Thousands of people have lost their jobs because they will not comply with illegal orders requiring Covid shots issued by Governor Hochul and Mayor Bill de Blasio. Many of these people, especially healthcare workers and first responders, the heroes of 2020, have had Covid and recovered and pose less of a Covid threat than vaccinated people. This has to stop. And these people need to go back to work. The legislature needs to step up and end rule by decree.
New York’s legislative session begins on January 5 which by coincidence will be the day Governor Kathy Hochul delivers her State-of-the-State Address to the combined legislative Houses. We know that the Governor will be giving her speech in the Capitol building. And we need to be seen and heard by Hochul and the legislature that day…. And we will have a rally in the West Capitol Park immediately adjacent to the Capitol Building.”

New York Assembly to Bring Draconian COVID-19 Bills to the Floor in January

New York kicks off its 2022 legislative session on Jan. 5 with a number of proposed radical bills related to the pandemic. Governor Kathy Hochul will kick off the session with her first State of the State address, pushing her agenda. It will be the first time a speech has been presented on the floor in three years. Her address will allegedly focus on her proposed budget to include Medicaid expansion and health workforce initiatives.
Assembly Bill A8378 requires immunization against COVID-19 for attendance in school. It was sponsored in October by Democratic Assemblymen Phil Steck and Richard Gottfried—the longest-serving legislator in N.Y. history. The bill adds the COVID-19 vaccine to the scheduled childhood vaccinations. It requires immunization for children between 2 months and 18 years of age.
A279a requires “a health care provider who administers an immunization to a person nineteen years of age or older to report such information to the department of health or to a regional health information organization unless such person objects to such reporting.”
A7829 requires immunization “of certain post-secondary students for COVID-19.” The bill states that the act will “take effect thirty days following the date of issuance of a biologics license for an immunizing agent against COVID-19 by the United States Food and Drug Administration provided the provisions in the act” comply with recommendations issued by the CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices.
A2240 requires immunization for children in daycare and all school-aged children between the ages of 2 months and 18 years of age. Specifically, the bill stipulates that all daycare homes comply with COVID-19 immunization.
A8398 is a bill sponsored by Assemblyman Jeffrey Dinowitz that “limits exemptions from immunization requirements by local governments and private entities to medical exemptions; repeals religious exemptions for certain post-secondary students.” Dinowitz also sponsored legislation in May, making it a felony to forge or be in possession of a fake vaccine passport. A8398 makes all non-medical exemptions “null and void.”
Assembly Bill A6564C, “permits any child who is at least fourteen years of age to have administered to himself or herself certain immunizations required or recommended by law.” Assemblywoman Patricia Fahy first sponsored the bill in March of 2019. Fahy is one of the more progressive members, and she represents the 109th Assembly District which includes a good portion of Albany. Fahy is on the list of “environmental champions,” receiving a 93% score for her voting record supporting environmental initiatives.

Assembly Bill A822 allows “treatment for sexually transmitted diseases to minors without a parent’s or guardian’s consent.” A minor is defined as children under the age of 18. The proposed bill also seems to state that records “concerning the care and treatment of an infant patient for venereal disease or the performance of an abortion operation” on the infant “shall not be released or made available to the parent or guardian of such infant.” The records can be released to another “designated physician or hospital.”
The guardian, parent, or surrogate may request access to the records by written request “within ten days…concerning or relating to the examination or treatment of such subject in possession of such health care provider,” according to Section 18, Access to Patient Information.
Assemblyman Patrick Burke proposed a controversial bill in November that has created a stir on social media. He proposed a “bill that allows insurance providers to deny healthcare for those who refuse to be vaccinated.” New York State Republican, Rep. Marc Molinaro, pushed back. He announced his 2022 run for Congress in September. He says the vaccine “is free healthcare provided by the government,” so everybody should take advantage of it. During a Nov. 23 WIVB4 interview, Burke stated the following:
“We develop a vaccine that is safe and effective and can be used to stamp out COVID, and not enough people are utilizing that. It’s free. It’s provided by the government. It is safe and effective; if not enough people take advantage of that, it overwhelms our health care system, and it affects our insurance pools; it affects all of us, and we continue down this nightmare cycle. We also know that unvaccinated people are essentially incubators for COVID variants. We are seeing it rage across the world— these different variants that are negatively affecting different countries, in different communities. And how the delta variant has affected us and we’re going to keep going through this until everyone is vaccinated.”
Arguably, data from our own Department of Defense is now showing that the vaccinated, not the unvaccinated, are now driving the variants and illness. There is growing evidence that the COVID-19 jabs are doing “more harm than good.”
New York has launched some of the most draconian mandates in the U.S. with its Key2NYC program, its vaccine passport, known as the Excelsior Pass, and Governor Hochul’s reinstatement of strict mask mandates. Non-compliance in New York City prevents individuals from attending shows, entering venues, grocery shopping, and entering restaurants, among many other activities. On Sunday, a man was arrested in a Panera Bread restaurant for not complying with the vaccine mandate. “I cannot eat,” he said, “And my sisters and brothers cannot work.”

“Heretics Expelled from New York City Schools
The title of this piece contains the very words stated to me by the attorneys for New York City when I was denied a religious exemption to vaccination. The City did not question the sincerity of my religious beliefs, but since the Pope recommends vaccination, that meant I must be vaccinated to keep my job. In the not-so-distant past, many were denied religious exemptions after “sincerity hearings” that were equivalent to witch hunts. Today they are simply calling those seeking to practice their sincerely held religious beliefs heretics who must be shunned and banned from society.
Today I am on unpaid leave for declining covid vaccination and I am suing NYC in a case known as KANE vs DE BLASIO, fighting for religious freedom for all educators in NYC. I recently debated two religious leaders on BBC Radio regarding religion and vaccination. Since my sincerely held religious beliefs do not align with those the City deems legitimate, they removed me from my job while my union, the UFT, shrugged their pathetic shoulders.
I was raised in a home of Catholicism and Buddhism. My journey of faith began at a young age as I questioned everything and was encouraged to do so by both of my parents. Today my father is a lay teacher at a Long Island Buddhist Gampa. The attorney for NYC also told me since the Dalai Lama is himself vaccinated, of course, I too must be vaccinated. Never mind that I do not follow the Dalai Lama or the Pope. Never mind that I do not seek guidance from them.
My faith is a hybrid of Christianity, Buddhism, and life experience. I have learned much through my readings, my prayers, meditation, and through triumphs and tragedies of my life, and my connection with the most high power is very personal and intimate.
The federal courts ruled when it comes to religion the belief of the individual is supreme: not the belief of some man, building, institution or text, but the belief of the individual. Many people define “religion” as a building, a book, a man with a beard who tells you what to believe, think, eat and do. You can define religion that way if you choose, but the federal court system in America has not interpreted the first amendment that way — thank God for the first amendment and the interpretation of the courts!
My case of KANE vs DE BLASIO is a critical case in which people – including some very allegedly ‘smart’ people – are now saying perhaps the government DOES have the right to determine what religious views are valid and which are not. This is an extremely frightening mind state that we cannot allow to infect our nation! America was founded on the principal that there are no heretics. All are free to worship and praise their God as they see fit, not as anyone else dictates.
The one thing that religious beliefs cannot do is infringe on the rights, freedom or health of those around the believer. Those who argue I must get a covid vaccine state that by not being vaccinated I pose a threat to society. However that narrative is not holding up under strict scrutiny of the science we now have. We now know natural immunity is superior to vaccine immunity.

Why has NYC never asked me if I have natural immunity prior to requiring a forced covid vaccine mandate to keep my job? We must also ask other heavyweights in medicine their opinion of forced covid vaccine mandates; people like Dr. Jay Bhattacharya of Stanford, Dr. Martin Kulldorff of Harvard, Dr. Peter McCullough of Texas A&M, and Dr. Sunetra Gupta of Oxford. These individuals have a contrary view to forced vaccine requirements Perhaps what we need to do in order to properly strictly scrutinize if my religious beliefs against vaccination adversely impact society is to get the men and women I just mentioned in a federal court, under oath. Along with Dr. Anthony Fauci.”
