Another U.S. City Passes 5G Ordinance to Better Protect Residents

By B.N. Frank

Cities worldwide AND entire countries have taken action to ban, delay, halt, and limit 5G installation AS WELL AS issue moratoriums due to health, safety, environmental and economic risks.  A petition boycotting 5G phones has also been endorsed by doctors, scientists, and industry whistleblowers.

American opposition continues to increase for health and environmental risks (see 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6), concerns about property value, substantial safety threats, and more.  It’s been the topic of several “Dilbert” comic strips.  In 2019, telecom executives gave congressional testimony that they had NO independent scientific evidence that 5G is safe.  There is research that has proven that it’s NOT.

Lawsuits have been filed against the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for unwanted installation.  Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) and several American tribal groups filed one (see 1, 2). Municipalities have filed them.  Municipalities have also passed resolutions to ban deployment until studies prove it’s safe (see 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6) and ordinances to limit and/or control installation.  State representatives in Hawaii and Illinois have introduced 5G bills to protect constituents as well.

Recently, another U.S. city passed an ordinance that better protects constituents from 5G.

From 5G Crisis:

VICTORY: Baton Rouge, LA Passes Ordinance to Better Protect Residents from 5G Antenna Installations

On Wednesday, December 9, 2020, the East Baton Rouge Metro Council approved a new set of 5G rules intended to address homeowners’ concerns about 5G small cell antenna deployments throughout the area. The code took about 16 months to develop and is 35 pages long.

According to local news reporting conducted by The Advocate, “The 35-page ordinance requires wireless providers to send a notice via first-class postage — within two days of applying for a construction permit — to all landowners and homeowners’ associations within a 300 foot radius of the site for the proposed facility. The Metro Council member representing the area must also be notified and a blaze orange placard must be placed on-site as notice. The mailed notices are required to include an email for both the city-parish and the applicant where residents can submit inquiries.

The ordinance also allows homeowners’ associations to submit maps to the municipality that designate preferred locations for the new technology — a provision its authors say is unique to Baton Rouge and that they expect to be copied by other municipalities.”

We encourage you to lobby your local representatives to include legislative safeguards in your community’s own local 5G ordinance so that you can better protect you and your family from 5G. 5G has been described by one scientist as an “albatross” and a “mirage.” This seems accurate in so many ways.  In regard to the promise of “lightning fast speed,” last month PC Magazine advised Verizon phone users to turn off and/or disable 5G due to slow speed.  In September, it was reported that AT&T’s 5G was slower than 4G in almost every city where it was tested.  Additionally disappointing – in 2019 there were reports of T-Mobile 5G phones overheating and catching fire. Nevertheless, in 2020 a 5G tax was applied to smartphones.

If you’re concerned about 5G cell towers being installed near your home and throughout your community, EMF Experts is offering a free online tutorial on how to locate them.  For Americans opposed to 5G, there is an online petition asking President-elect Biden and Vice President-elect Harris to stop deployment.
