It’s likely that electric, gas, and water utility “Smart” Meters have been installed on your home. Tens of millions have been installed worldwide. People worldwide have taken legal action against their utility companies because of health issues caused by these meters (see 1, 2, 3, 4) as well as other problems associated with them. Legislation has been introduced and passed in some cities and states to stop installation (see 1, 2) and/or offer customers the right to “opt out” (see 1, 2, 3).
Thanks to Environmental Health Trust for this new video about how government radiation safety limits don’t protect us from excessive levels of Electrosmog emitted by these meters that can hurt all of us – even our pets.
“Smart” Meter proponents originally promised that these products would save customers money and help the environment. Nope AND Nope (see 1, 2). In addition to causing health issues, these expensive meters have been associated with so many other problems including malfunctioning and broken appliances, frequent replacement, increased bills, cybersecurity risks, and privacy violations.
“Smart” Meters collect customer usage data 24/7, whereas original 1-way transmitting analog meters DO NOT. Utilities collect and analyze usage data so they can market more products and services to customers and/or sell it to 3rd parties. This is referred to as “Surveillance Capitalism.” Despite all the lawsuits, negative publicity, opposition, and problems with these meters, utility companies still plan to install tens of millions more because they are such a cash cow. Feeling violated yet?
