Will “The Big Easy” become “The Big Tech Catastrophe”? They seem to be entertaining the idea of installing A LOT of seriously unsafe technology in their city. Aren’t they concerned about automated vehicles (AVs) AND robots replacing human jobs which are already scarce? Don’t they know about all the warnings and opposition and calamities already associated with automated vehicles and 5G (see 1, 2, 3, 4, 5) and Internet of Things (IoT) (see 1, 2, 3) technology? And will they at least be insured when the SHTF (see 1, 2)?

COVID-19 has devastated the U.S. economy and raised jobless applications to 44 million over the past 12 weeks.
Even so, technology analysts see a silver lining with digital innovations sparked by the virus. In part, they predict an uptick of smart city projects related to communications, transportation, robots and drones.
In the latest promising development, New Orleans Mayor Latoya Cantrell announced Thursday that the city is seeking proposals from businesses and nonprofits for what could result in a massive project to add a Wi-Fi network throughout the city with the addition of small cells for 5G wireless. The city also wants their input on an IoT platform to “allow for the interoperability of varying devices.”
Other cities such as St. Louis, Missouri, are also looking at ways to incorporate health advisories on new digital information kiosks erected on city streets. In Fairfax City, Va., Starship Technologies in April launched unmanned food delivery via robots that look like smart picnic coolers on wheels.
“COVID-19 is stimulating innovation to adapt to a new normal …and shifting consumer behavior,” said Steve Koening, vice president of market research for the Consumer Technology Association, the sponsor of the CES electronics event held in Las Vegas in January each year.

Opposition to 5G and “Smart Cities” is worldwide. Cities AND countries continue taking action against 5G deployment. This includes delaying and halting installation as well as issuing moratoriums (see 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. 9, 10).
In fact, doctors and scientists have been requesting moratoriums on 5G since 2017 on Earth as well as in space (see 1, 2, 3). Since 2018, there have been reports of people and animals becoming sick after it was turned on (see 1. 2, 3, 4). Of course, other sources of wireless AND Electromagnetic Radiation (aka “Electrosmog”) can cause symptoms and illness too including Bluetooth, cell phone radiation, and WiFi.
New Orleans residents don’t deserve this. Nobody does.
