Activist Post reports regularly about the tens of thousands of satellites, loons, and other space crap being launched into the sky to blast WiFi and 5G back down at us (see 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6). Despite increasing expert opposition and their scary-as-hell warnings, The Federal Communication Commission (FCC) keeps approving more of this. LOTS MORE! This is being questioned again – now by 2 senators.
Not only will thousands of low orbit broadband satellites blanket our planet in harmful wireless radiation, but they also pose a risk to astronomers and their ability to study the night sky.
Two senators have asked the U.S. Government Accountability Office to review the Federal Communications Commission’s decision to exempt satellite constellations like SpaceX’s Starlink from an environmental review, given those satellites’ effect on the night sky.
In an April 2 letter to Comptroller General Gene Dodaro, Sens. Tammy Duckworth (D-Ill.) and Brian Schatz (D-Hawaii) asked the GAO to examine the FCC’s decision, made decades ago, to not subject satellite systems seeking FCC licenses from environmental assessments.

The FCC is supposed to protect the public from the telecom industry. They haven’t been doing that for many years but it’s become MUCH WORSE during the Trump administration. In fact, nobody seems happy with the FCC except the telecom industry and their cronies (see 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20).
