Thanks to National Resource Defense Council (NRDC) for filing a lawsuit against the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regarding the forced installation of harmful 5G technology. But no thanks to their recent attack on incandescent and halogen light bulbs.
There’s too much research that has proven that LED lights are biologically harmful and it’s about more than macular degeneration and blindness (see 1, 2, 3). For many years the American Medical Association (AMA) has even been warning against their use for streetlights (see 1, 2).
There’s nothing wrong with people choosing not to sacrifice their eyesight or their health to save energy. Environmentalists have even warned that LEDs affect wildlife and nature too.
So WTF NRDC? Wouldn’t it be wiser for your group to invest in educating people about safe ways to save energy than in litigation to prohibit them from buying biologically and environmentally safe products?
As part of its relentless assault on energy efficiency, the Trump administration’s Department of Energy (DOE) has proposed NOT to update the minimum efficiency standards for the most common light bulbs in our homes and is holding a meeting on the topic today in Washington, D.C. NRDC will be there to tell the agency why perpetuating the ongoing sale of energy-wasting bulbs is illegal and will cost Americans billions in higher energy bills and cause millions of tons of unnecessary climate-warming pollution.
And if the Trump administration officials go forward with this outrageous and harmful proposal, we will explore every option—including litigation—to stop it.
