Suspicious Pipe Bombs Delivered To Democrats And CNN

Reports are flooding social media which indicate that pipe bombs have been sent to the residences of Barack Obama, Hillary and Bill Clinton, George Soros, former DNC head Debbie Wasserman Schultz, former CIA director John Brennan and the New York offices of CNN.

All five explosive devices at the time of this report are thought to be linked, according to law enforcement officials, NBC reported.

At least two of the devices — one addressed to Clinton’s Chappaqua, NY home, and one to Obama in Washington, D.C. — were intercepted by the U.S. Secret Service before delivery.

Both pipe bombs were discovered at off-site locations and neither the former secretary of state nor former president were ever at risk, officials stated.

“The packages were immediately identified during routine mail screening procedures as potential explosive devices and were appropriately handled as such,” Secret Service said in a statement. “Both packages were intercepted prior to being delivered to their intended location. The protectees did not receive the packages nor were they at risk of receiving them.”

Another suspicious package was addressed to former CIA head John Brennan, an MSNBC contributor, which forced an evacuation of CNN at the Time Warner Center.

Authorities believe that the device delivered to Soros was by hand, while the other devices delivered elsewhere were mailed.

It’s worth noting that the signature is exact on all three packages, and at least two parcels listed the return address as former Democratic National Committee chairman Debbie Wasserman Schultz.

Schultz’s office in Florida also received a possible suspicious package, which continues to be investigated.

Before this article went to press there were reports of additional suspicious packages sent to Eric Holder and Maxine Waters.

There were other bomb scares; earlier reports stated that Andrew Cuomo and Kamala Harris also received devices. However, those situations were cleared and the information was retracted. According to a spokeswoman for Harris in a tweet, the device was not addressed to the senator or her office.

An NYPD official later told CNN that the device sent to Cuomo was simply an informational package containing literature, CNN reported.

Trump vowed Wednesday afternoon that “the full weight of our government is being deployed to conduct this investigation.”

“We will spare no resources or expense in this effort,” Trump said at the top of his remarks at a White House opioid bill signing event. He said he had just concluded a briefing with the FBI, Department of Justice, Homeland Security Department and Secret Service.

The President — who has recently taken to calling his political opponents “evil” — called for unity in his remarks and said “we have to come together and send one very clear, strong, unmistakable message that threats or acts of political violence have no place in the United States of America.”

“This egregious conduct is abhorrent to everything we hold dear and sacred as Americans,” Trump said, adding, “We are extremely angry, upset, unhappy about what we witnessed this morning, and we will get to the bottom of it.”

There have also been reports about other evacuations of news stations. A crude picture of the device was shown by MSNBC. No suspect(s) have been named thus far and investigations are ongoing. A white powder was also alleged to be contained in one of the envelopes containing the devices, according to a press conference.

At the time of this report #MagaBomber, and #Bombscare were trending on Twitter along with all of the targets in the alleged attempted attacks.
