Russia Blamed For Anti-GMO Campaign and Pushing American Gun Rights

By Aaron Kesel

After a myriad of talks blaming Russia for hacking the election without any proof that has since switched into influencing the election through social media, MSM has gone off the deep end blaming Russia for an anti-GMO campaign influencing Americans’ opinions according to Iowa State University research, Desmoines Register reported.

Russia is funding articles shared online which question the safety of GMOs in an effort to hurt U.S. agriculture interests and bolster its position as the “ecologically clean alternative” to genetically engineered food, Shawn Dorius, an ISU assistant sociology professor, claims.

“Stirring the anti-GMO pot would serve a great many of Russia’s political, economic and military objectives,” he said.

So what is the team’s unquestionable research that determined this incredible outcome; is it a leaked Russian memo or double agent leaking this incredible information?

No, none of the above; this Scooby-Doo investigation team used simple statistics from RT and Sputnik news sites funded by the Russian government to come to this ridiculous conclusion.

Like Zoinks! Instead, the report stated that more articles from RT and Sputnik contained the word “GMO” than five other news organizations combined — those being Huffington Post, Fox News, CNN, Breitbart News and MSNBC.

Further, these wondrous cyber sleuths found that RT accounted for 34 percent of GMO-related articles among the seven sites, and Sputnik articles made up 19 percent.

So that’s it — they determined that Russia, a country that bans GMOs along with three dozen other countries, is trying to influence America’s opinion on GMOs by publishing news articles against GMOs  … which is a right for journalists at RT and Sputnik under the First Amendment, the right to a free press, as well as a right for citizens to receive information.

It is utter insanity and nonsense to state that Americans can’t think for themselves and determine that GMOs are dangerous for consumption without the help of Russia.

This all comes amid protest calls by farmers to ban the use of herbicides due to widespread damaged crops from Monsanto’s dicamba product that affected 3.1 million acres in nearly two dozen states.

Monsanto sued regulators of the Plant Board in Arkansas last year for prohibiting the use of the chemical from April 16th through Oct. 31, 2018, Natural Blaze reported.

Glyphosate was also listed as a carcinogen on California EPA’s Prop 65 list in July of 2017, while a study published earlier in the year in January of 2017 proved chronic consumption of low levels of Roundup (which contains glyphosate) caused fatty liver disease in animals.

The chemical which was also deemed a “probable human carcinogen” by the World Health Organization’s International Agency for Research on Cancer in March 2015, has been recently found in five different brands of orange juice including top brands like Tropicana, Natural Blaze reported.

Dicamba is considered more toxic than glyphosate, but less toxic than 2,4-D, the third most common broadleaf herbicide. (Monsanto is working on crops that are resistant to 2,4-D, as well.)

Yet Monsanto claims that when the chemical is properly used, Dicamba is considered only mildly toxic to people, pollinators, wildlife, and aquatic organisms. However, according to Monsanto, there is no scientific consensus on whether it has cancer-causing properties, though the EPA says “Dicamba is not likely to be a human carcinogen.”

Then, more recently, a product called NemaStrike was pulled after reports indicated that it caused strange rashes on people who came into contact with the chemical. NemaStrike was designed to be applied to crop seeds to protect them from worms and other bugs.

A study published in 2014, in the Journal of Organic Systems examined U.S. government databases, searching for GE (Genetically Engineered) crop data, glyphosate application data, and disease epidemiological data while performing a “correlation analysis” on a total of 22 different diseases. Those researchers reached an alarming conclusion:

These data show very strong and highly significant correlations between the increasing use of glyphosate, GE crop growth and the increase in a multitude of diseases. Many of the graphs show sudden increases in the rates of diseases in the mid-1990s that coincide with the commercial production of GE crops.

The probabilities in the graphs and tables show that it is highly unlikely that the correlations are a coincidence. The strength of the correlations shows that there is a very strong probability that they are linked somehow.

So with all this information cited above, it is any wonder that Americans are rightfully skeptical about the safety of GMOs that are sprayed with these pesticides? Especially since the story doesn’t end there; Monsanto is on record having paid Prof. Sir Richard Doll, one of Britain’s finest post-war scientists, for covering up harmful effects of Agent Orange. Doll wrote to an Australian commission investigating Agent Orange’s effects on humans and argued that there was no evidence that Agent Orange caused cancer, The Guardian reported.

Monsanto’s product was withdrawn in 1971 because it caused birth defects in laboratory animals. Agent Orange is known to have affected an entire generation of Vietnamese children who suffered skin cancers and other deformities.

Doll was paid from 1970 to 1990, up to £1,000 a day as a consultant by Monsanto, which was previously a chemical company. Just like before, Monsanto recently got caught last year manufacturing scientific studies and then using those studies to influence the EPA and other regulators for its star line product Roundup, paying scientists to publish them, according to court documents, Huffington Post reported.

U.S. President Donald Trump’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced last year it had reached a deal with Monsanto along with BASF and DuPont, which also make dicamba herbicides, for new voluntary restrictions for the weed killer’s use. Under the deal, dicamba products will be labeled as “restricted use” beginning with the 2018 growing season, requiring additional training and certifications for workers applying the product to crops.

It is worth noting that there are Americans and groups such as Dr. Oz, the Center for Food Safety, Right to Know and Organic Consumers Association who openly express discontent for GMOs, calling for mandatory labeling or banning of GMO products.

Additionally, who can forget that Monsanto was involved with Blackwater in infiltrating activist groups who are opposed to the biotech giant, which Activist Post reported in 2012.

In other unrelated news and more senselessness out of the new blame Russia McCarthyism era, the Kremlin is also being blamed for a campaign to keep the American people armed.

As if Moscow would want to help keep Americans armed instead of disarming us and rush the coastline like the shores of Normandy if there was a malicious intent.

Forbes kindly debunked the ridiculous CNN article that tried to say Russian bots were promoting a pro-gun agenda.

“There’s just one problem: the data that CNN cites do not support their claim,” Forbes wrote.

Anyone with a brain who wasn’t born yesterday and isn’t brainwashed can clearly see that Russia is being used as a scapegoat quite desperately like we have never seen before in all of history.

In a Twilight Zone without nukes and weapons, propaganda wouldn’t be so bad, but consistent propaganda against a superpower by think tanks and government officials is a dangerous scenario in the current political climate, and the only ones who will pay the price are American and Russian citizens. Meanwhile, the elite and military industrial complex of both nations profit from weapon contract deals like those “defensive weapons” that were sent to Ukraine as a Christmas present gifted by U.S. President Donald Trump.

  1. WOW…if Russia is truly responsible for all of that…they just won my undying respect and I didn’t think I could respect them more than I already did! YAY Putin!!!!

  2. Unfortunately, in this country, we have reached a point where no one who still retains even a shred of moral decency is ever allowed to ascend to a position of influence or power in either major political party or in the corporation that constitutes the de facto federal government. The same, if not true already, is rapidly becoming the case with the uppermost management of all major corporations. Greed, avarice, and unlimited hubris have become, along with a total aversion to honesty, the prime qualifications for selection as CEO of most of our giant corporations, if not all of them. Inexorably, the extremes of corruption are becoming all pervasive. It is now becoming increasingly common in villages and townships where less than three thousand people live. Worse still, the vast majority of our population has become so ignorant and functionally illiterate that they are unable to comprehend that this corruption is the root cause of their rapidly declining standard of living, or that such a tolerance of corruption will inevitably lead to them losing their liberty totally.

  3. Mercury and Roundup
The one two early death machines

Investigation of mercury and its compounds as the primary
    catalyst of all “idiophathic “diseases.

After having Two strokes (caused by magnesium depletion from
various BP meds) I paid for my own
saliva and urine tox screen lab report (unavailable under Manitoba Health) and discovered
I had mercury poisoning. Immediately after the second minor episode (momentary
paralysis left leg and arm) I discontinued all 6 of my BP meds May 2016 and
until now Mar 2018 I have been free of any stroke like episodes. After visiting
my GP I am obstructed (tox screen results dismissed) and denied further contact.

After Manitoba Heath finally find another GP May 2017 Same
thing happens without any knowledgeable explanation, denial of tox results, and
I am denied further contact when I refuse any more stroke causing life
    shortening BP meds.

    I
have found out that as everyone gets older ones normal cumulative store and/or
spike of mercury reaches a maximum saturation in ones fat cells and subsequent
detox depletes magnesium (as well as
selenium, potassium, zinc, iodine and B vitamins etc. This is enhanced by
Roundup(glyphosate) and impacts ones immune system leading to a cascade of
medical conditions for which a never ending list of recipes are compiled with
patented treatments that treat but never cure. This includes BP, Stroke, Heart Attack,
Diabetes etc. including almost all Cancers.

    A
simple search of Medline for “magnesium depletion” turns up almost every
idiophathic (Cause unknown-according to profiteering pharma) condition known to
afflict humans. (if you do not get over 200 hits -medline abstracts etc-
    someone is blocking you),

  4. Every single person who denies there is any evidence of Russian hacking has NOT been shown the evidence.
Every person who HAS seen the evidence has stated that it shows Russia hacked. Among those who have seen the evidence and say publicly that Russia hacked and intervened to benefit Trump are:
    The Secretary of Defense Mattis
    The Secretary of State Tillerson
    The UN Ambassador Haley
    The National Security Adviser McMasters
And Trump’s appointees to head the CIA, FBI,and NSA.

All say Russia hacked. All have seen the evidence. And for a clincher, after the briefing where he was shown the evidence, he came out and said: “As for the hacking, I think Russia did it.”

People who lie, as many of Trump’s team do, DO tell the truth when they know the evidence exists and it will be made public.

I challenge anyone to name one person who has seen the evidence who denies Russian hacking.

LOL ! Russian collusion is a made up from Pizzagate. Within 10 days of the first ‘spirt cooking’ revelations the MSM changed the story from the contents of the LEAKED DNC emails to their alleged Russian source. Nobody is disputing the validity of the LEAKED DNC emails which clearly demonstrated that Hillary and the DNC blatantly stole 13 primary elections from Bernie, sold American foreign policy to the highest bidder, have utter disdain and contempt for their own constituents and enjoy raping and murdering children in their spare time.

      • You are factually incorrect; the Podesta emails were the last released on October 7: “”The bombshell dropped on the Washington Post’s website just after 4 p.m (Oct 7).: a video of Donald Trump, in 2005, using extremely vulgar language to describe women, detailing his attempt to bed a married woman and bragging that he can grope women because he is a celebrity. Less than an hour later, Wikileaks published more than 2,000 emails from what appeared to be the personal account of the chairman of Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign.”

        Podesta’s claim rates True.” politifact.com

Long before the Podesta emails were published, the corporate media had been writing about the hacked emails, including the speech in which Trump asked the Russians to hack the emails and publish them.

The Guardian reported in July of 2016, the month the FBI began the investigation based on the information that Trump foreign policy adviser Papadopolous has relayed info after being told that Russia had the emails : “A cache of more than 19,000 emails from Democratic party officials, leaked in advance of Hillary Clinton’s nomination in Philadelphia, details the acrimonious split between the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and Clinton’s former rival, Senator Bernie Sanders.”

This use of the term leaked does refer to the hacking (later in the article this appears: “In June, Trump accused the DNC itself of masterminding the hack…”_ so clearly the leak referred not to how the emails were orginally obtained (which Trump called hacking) but to the fact that they were then leaked to the media.

So you are confused my friend. If you support Trump, that is understandable for he himself has said “The investigation is a hoax” and “As for the hacking, I think Russia did it.).

        • The Hill Newspaper | March 7, 2018 at 8:43 pm |

Trump has nothing to do with it. The point is once the LEAKED DNC emails became public the MSM narrative switched from the content to the source. Even if the Russian were the source it’s irrelevant because nobody is denying the validity of the LEAKED DNC emails. Poltifact has no credibility.

  5. “is considered only mildly toxic to people, pollinators, wildlife, and aquatic organisms”
”was designed to be applied to crop seeds to protect them from worms and other bugs”
the last time i looked “the pollinators” fell into the same group of animals as the “other bugs”
the disconnect between reality and their utter lies is now so vast, it is no longer like looking for Oakland from San Francisco but rather looking for Tokyo from San Francisco

  6. Well if that’s the case, then God bless Russia.
In all seriousness though, it is my understanding that GMOs are banned in Russia. And microwaves. And George Soros. Those evil Ruskies, how dare they care about health?
