The USS Liberty: A Test For Americans

June 8, 1967. The USS Liberty, a U.S. Navy intelligence ship, was stationed in international waters in the Mediterranean Sea off the Sinai coast, while the U.S. ally Israel was engaged in its Six-Day War with the Arab nations.

Israeli planes had flown over the Liberty many times that morning, sometimes close enough that crewmen could see the Israeli pilots wave back to them as the crewmen casually sunned themselves on the ship’s deck.

However, later in the day, the Israeli military returned to carry out an unprovoked two-hour air and naval attack on the basically defenseless ship. The idea was to sink the Liberty, leaving no survivors. Yet due to the great courage and efforts of the ship’s crew and captain, William L. McGonagle, the Liberty survived and stayed afloat.

Rescue aircraft from the nearby 6th Fleet were launched to aid the Liberty, but were recalled by direct orders from President Lyndon B. Johnson. Never before in the history of the U.S. Navy had a rescue mission been recalled when an American ship was under attack.

The White House proceeded to cover up the truth about the attack on the Liberty, and to this day, the corporate media and our U.S. representatives and senators who would rather not deal with it continue to cover it up.

In October 2003, an Independent Commission of Inquiry Into the Attack on the USS Liberty, co-chaired by the former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff retired Adm. Thomas J. Moorer, and former assistant commandant of the Marine Corps, Medal of Honor recipient Gen. Raymond G. Davis, issued the following statement among its findings: “Israel committed acts of murder against American servicemen and an act of war against the United States.”

“Freedom isn’t free” is more than sending American troops into harm’s way. It requires participatory citizenship from the American people here at home, which entails holding accountable those in our servant government who have violated the U.S. Constitution and otherwise broken the law.

It is when we the people do not hold those in our government accountable for their crimes that we allow for similar or worse crimes against the American people to continue, and there have been many since that shameful day in June 1967.

Right now, justice for the men of the USS Liberty  is long overdue. We owe them.

“Thank you for your service” and singing “God Bless America” during the seventh-inning stretch don’t cut it. Demanding from our servant government full and proper accountability for the 34 American servicemen killed and 174 wounded by the foreign state of Israel is the test before you, the reader. Let’s see how you do. So far, we’ve been failing miserably.

Why sign a petition to have the crooks investigate themselves? Ignorance is bliss…

    • Is that your official stance, rabbi?

      • He kinda has a point given the results of the Warren Commission (magic bullet!) and 9/11 Commission Report. …As all of this flies in the air, TPTB are using their cointelpro minions to run out the clock distracting the only people not glued to their Tell-a-vision and who might actually figure out in significant numbers we are about to get submerged into a global gulag.

        • Point taken, but I’m always suspicious of those who discourage perfectly plausible activities that call out the TPTB to be one of those cointelpro minions.

          • Gotcha. You make a great point too, Derek.

So long as the action doesn’t stop there, giving people the impression they are actually “doing something” by signing a petition. We need people to get off their backsides, spread the word, and “be the change” – starting with dumping their smart phones and avoiding biometric tracking like the plague because once the control grid is firmly in place we will be royally scr-w-d. No activism will be possible and no transparency because TPTB will finish locking down all means of mass communication. Scary times, my friend.

It is not a ” perfectly plausible activity ” for a myriad of reasons. In fact, it would morph into more mind control for the still sleeping masses, just like all the other investigations before it. Government is corrupt. Wake the f**k up…

          • The investigation is not the point. It’s the attention directed toward the attack by a large number of petition signers that has the effect. Why do you have an aversion to that?

Also, calling people ignorant and unawake from your hidden profile account doesn’t exactly make you seem like someone worth listening to.

          • Reggin Mudd | June 12, 2017 at 7:56 am |

            Then why are you…

          • Listening to you? In the sense that it would imply what you say has any value, I’m obviously not.

Then why waste your time? Must be a snowflake…

The most plausible explanation for the Israeli attack on the USS Liberty was detailed by former DOJ prosecutor turned intelligence historian, John Loftus, in the stunning book, The Secret War Against the Jews. The Liberty was a spy ship and had been spying on the Israelis and passing the intelligence onto her enemies. In order to protect her future, Israel bombed the Liberty. Loftus’s book details multiple instances of similar missions by the US against Israel. Anyone who still believes that the US is a friend to ANYONE, including her own citizens, including her purported allies, should make a point of reading Loftus’s book.

    • Your status as an Israeli apologist is duly noted!

    • Hmmm

If your assertions had any merit or truth to them (they do not. Well documented historical facts directly contradict your claims) it really doesn’t matter. In either case the United Stated should have leveled Tel Aviv and invaded Israel in response to Israel’s act of war.

  3. Not only should US support of Israel be stopped cold turkey, but those responsible for preventing the truth getting out, for covering up the Israel betrayal and for denying the dead, justice, should be castigated, their treason recorded and any medals or other rewards of commendation retracted (Admiral McCain). Let the truth win out and let those Israel vassals in congress explain to their constituents exactly why they support the worst betrayer state in the World.

LBJ, next to the Clinton/Bush era of Presidents, was by far the worse President of the 1960’s!
    It is theorized that he colluded with the CIA and George HW Bush in the Kennedy assassination so that he could do the bidding of the zionist banking system;
LBJ stood by and did nothing when the USS Liberty was attacked, and then re-called the help and support of the U.S. Navy. Not one Admiral countermanded the order. Equal shame goes to the Commander of the Fleet as well!
LBJ allowed the orchestration of the false ‘North Vietnamese Torpedo Boat attack on the USS *Maddox, resulting in the Gulf of Tonkin Incident, leading to the Vietnam War! Testimony from the radar operator decades later proved that nothing was on the screen, and the Torpedo Boats were laid-up for repairs.
Result; millions of Vietnamese dead, 58,000 US Combat Troops dead, and 200,000 more US Veterans from that era dead as a result of suicides, Agent Orange terminal diseases, etc.
Many of the modern-day problem Presidents have come from Texas; LBJ, & the Bush Family!

  5. Fair enough. And I would hope that the spirit of ‘uncovering the truth’ would extend to the role of Mossad (the ‘Israeli art students’) and the U.S. NeoCons (“absent a New Pearl Harbor”) in 9/11. And the sins of omission of the government of the state of israel in the bombing of the U.S. Marine Barracks in Lebanon. And. And. And………

Let’s get it ALL out. Where it belongs. In the light of day.

  6. trump aint gunna do shit

  7. The Moorer report concluded that the fighter planes dispatched from a carrier to defend the Liberty were recalled by LBJ to avoid embarrassing an ally, i.e. Israel. The Moorer report also said that the aircraft attacking the Liberty had no markings on them to identify them as being Israeli, So how would LBJ know that it was an Israeli attack. I think it is more likely that this was a joint US – Israeli false flag operation, i.e that that the US & Israel had agreed that the US would send the Liberty, a ship that they thought could not defend itself, to an area where it could easily be sunk, with all hands aboard being killed, claim the attack was done by an Arab country, & use the attack as an excuse for the US to join the Israeli – Arab war that was in progress at the time.

  8. Unfortunately Israel has the USA by the balls and nothing will happen about this. So just get ready to commit another war crime on their behalf so they can keep on showing their total ingratitude.
