Budget Cuts Force Half of Air Force Bombers to be Grounded

While the US military was busy spending hundreds of billions of dollars developing the barely flyable F-35, they seem to have neglected their fleet of aging aircraft and overworked maintenance crews. According to a recent investigation from Fox News, more than half of the B-1 bombers at one air base can’t fly, and other squadrons are in desperate need of parts. Some maintenance crews have even been forced to scavenge for parts from aircraft housed in museums. After years of constant deployments coupled with recent budget cuts, America’s air power is crumbling.

And this issue isn’t just found in the Air Force. Last month an investigation of the Marine Corps discovered an even more dire situation.

However, the rhetoric in these reports hides the military’s real problem. After all, Fox News is little more than a mouthpiece for the government and the military-industrial complex. These institutions are simply using the media to beg for more money, even though the US still has the highest military budget in the world by a wide margin.

The real problem isn’t just money; it’s that our government is still deploying our military all over the world while cutting the budget. They’re asking our military to do more with less funding, when they should be rolling back America’s overseas empire. That, and maybe they shouldn’t have spent roughly a trillion dollars on the F-35, which is more than enough money to keep our current planes in operation, and pay for a more modest next-generation aircraft. The wastefulness and imperial ambitions of our government is the real problem.

  1. Yet the “gifts” – (payoffs?) flow as scheduled to Israel via the Judas Class in D.C.

  2. Big deal – who are we planning on bombing anyways? Oh, silly me, I forget – we need to bomb Putin because he is interfering with Monsanto’s rights to GMO profits.

  3. “….The wastefulness and imperial ambitions of our government is the real problem….”

    No, the real problem is the passive population which allowed and is paying for the creation of a militaristic empire.
    .

  4. Those B-1 bombers were useless and basically a piece of sh*t. We still have our old, well designed and long lasting B-52s, but needless to say, they are all outmoded because of what our government has hidden from the people for decades.

    It is time for the American people, and the world for that matter to wake the H*ll up. Yes our government does have alien ships, and has been working with them for decades, so all this brouhaha is just so much BS.

    What our military uses currently is all smoke and mirrors, to keep a dumb down society believing that our bombers and latest fighters are the best in the world. You would be surprised at the Military industry in this country my friends. Millions of people are working for the Military Industrial Complex, from the generals at the top along with politicians, to the lowly guy making aluminum rivets in a factory somewhere in America.

    To kill that industry would leave millions out of work, and our idiotic government has no idea how to replace that military mechanism with something more fitting a peaceful democratic society. That is why we have had an almost continuous war for the last 200 years.

    This old saying laid bare the idiocy of continued war during the Vietnam incursion;
    WAR IS GOOD BUSINESS, INVEST YOUR SON !!! And they meant “as Cannon Fodder”

  5. Halt the F-35 program which apparently is a money singularity vortex. Meanwhile what about the B-3 bomber program? I also wonder about the $20,000 toilet seat and $5000 hammer, the procurement system needs serious re-evaluation. No more stiffing the customer as there seems to be trillions missing in the pentagon ledgers. Where did that evaporate to? Martians? The officials are all in denial, “I don’t know”. Somebody is accountable and its time to tighten the screws.

  6. Demoncraps are always like that because most are communist and sociopaths in office and they do not care about the military or your veterans but they do care about social justice like men using women’s bathroom, women in combat and Negroes as “president”.
