Putin Orders “Main Part” Of Russian Forces In Syria To Begin Withdrawal

In a surprising move, Russian President Vladmir Putin has apparently ordered the “main part” of Russian forces stationed in Syria to begin withdrawing from the country starting on Tuesday.

In a Monday meeting with Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu and Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Putin reportedly stated that “I consider the objectives that have been set for the Defense Ministry to be generally accomplished. That is why I order to start withdrawal of the main part of our military group from the territory of the Syrian Arab Republic starting from tomorrow.”

RT reports that a telephone conversation was held on Monday evening at Moscow’s behest between both the Syrian and Russian Presidents regarding Putin’s decision.

Putin did state that the Hmemim airbase and the Russian contingent operating at the port of Tartus would continue to function as normal. He also stated that both operations must continue to be protected “from land, air, and sea.”

“The effective work of our military created the conditions for the start of the peace process,” Putin said.

“I believe that the task put before the defense ministry and Russian armed forces has, on the whole, been fulfilled. With the participation of the Russian military… the Syrian armed forces and patriotic Syrian forces have been able to achieve a fundamental turnaround in the fight against international terrorism and have taken the initiative in almost all respects,” he added.

“I am therefore ordering the defense minister, from tomorrow, to start the withdrawal of the main part of our military contingent from the Syrian Arab Republic.”

The ultimate geopolitical reason behind Putin’s surprise move is, as of yet, not fully understood. However, with a shaky ceasefire holding on for dear life, the threat of a Turkish/GCC invasion of Syria, and a new round of “peace talks” set to begin, we can expect Putin’s decision to become apparent in the near future in one form or another.

  1. Isaiah 17 and Daniel 11:41
According to the prophecies, Barack Obama’s led forces will overtake Damascus and it shall not be as the other nations that he has taken, Libya, Egypt, etc.. the leadership will escape out of his hands.

Assad and his “princes” or inner circle will escape the overflowing.

But that is just that old book that a lot of people consider to be “outdated” there are any more things to come that will show the Authorized King James Bible to be very updated and beyond the works of men.

    • In my opinion the main ‘Truth’ to be discovered in the Old Testament is that “Jehovah’ is an evil demon who demands human sacrifice, particularly of male first born children.

  2. Maybe he is setting Obama up for a public display of how Russia manages a problem and than let’s the besieged nation take over and how the US does the opposite, first creating the problem and then forcing regime change and then holds on to its illegal possession of a besieged nation’s confiscated lands forever!

  3. Not surprising given Russian elites’ close alliance with the UN now and going back to the days of the Soviet Union when the Russians worked hand in hand with western elites to stage the Korean war as a police action to set a precedent of the UN as global military force, and in the process neuter the US Congressional role as the branch of govt to declare war (and no other wars have been declared since WWII).
