Essure Sterilization Device Harms Females

One member of the U.S. Congress, Mike Fitzpatrick (PA-8), introduced the “E-Free Act” back in November of 2015 in order to stop the U.S. government from procuring a medical device that has harmed countless numbers of females, and also to remove “Essure,” a permanent sterilization device, from the market place. [1]

The device is a nickel-based medical coil, which is designed to be placed inside the fallopian tube to cause scaring. Essure was approved by the U.S. FDA November 4, 2002, but there have been over five thousand complaints filed about the device.

Nickel is a highly allergenic metal that causes adverse health effects, especially in nickel-sensitive individuals. One common allergic response is to nickel-containing jewelry. To place a nickel-base gynecological device within the female body, in this writer’s opinion, is totally irresponsible on the part of the device manufacturer and a federal government agency, e.g., the FDA, in approving it for medical use.

According to a CDC online nickel profile [2], “After nickel gets into your body, it can go to all organs, but it mainly goes to the kidneys.” “More women are sensitive to nickel than men.”

However, there’s a source of nickel that everyone possibly could be exposed to: NICKEL-CONTAMINATED drinking water fountains. According to the CDC nickel profile:

Workers who accidentally drank light-green water containing 250 ppm of nickel from a contaminated drinking fountain had stomach aches and suffered adverse effects in their blood (increased red blood cells) and kidneys (increased protein in the urine). This concentration of nickel is more than 100,000 times greater than the amount usually found in drinking water.

Despite the CDC’s above remarks, they have the chutzpah to state:

Human studies that examined whether nickel can harm the developing fetus are inconclusive.

What? How totally outrageous of the CDC to make such a patently ridiculous remark regarding the developing fetus when the CDC’s literature cites all sorts of adverse health effects to humans in the workplace and in laboratory animal studies. CDC doesn’t believe in epigenetics?

Representative Fitzpatrick’s website about his introducing the “E-Free Act” [1] states that

Tens of thousands of women have reported symptoms including extreme pelvic and abdominal pain, migraines, autoimmune reactions, loss of teeth and hair, the metal coil breaking and migrating throughout the body, and the coil cutting into the uterus and other organs in the abdominal cavity.

To that, add what Fitzpatrick said:

The failures of Essure are well documented and wide ranging. Yet, in the face of all these facts, this device remains on the market; certified with the FDA’s stamp of approval. That’s unacceptable to me and unacceptable to the tens of thousands of “Essure Sisters” who are living with this device’s effects. If the FDA or manufacturer aren’t willing to act in the best interest of these women, Congress must.

Furthermore, there’s a global grassroots network called “Essure Problems” with affiliates in the USA, Australia, Canada, Costa Rica, Europe, and South Africa that women, who have been harmed by Essure, may contact for information and support.

With information like this from the CDC, what can Essure-harmed females expect?

The federal government develops regulations and recommendations to protect public health. Regulations can be enforced by law. The EPA, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) are some federal agencies that develop regulations for toxic substances. Recommendations provide valuable guidelines to protect public health, but cannot be enforced by law. The Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR) and the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) are two federal organizations that develop recommendations for toxic substances. [1] Pg. 9

What kind of oxymoron is that on the part of the CDC, especially when the FDA approved Essure?

According to the website “Essure Lawsuits,” this is what the FDA has done as of February 2016 regarding Essure:

Case Update: FDA takes action on Essure permanent birth control procedure
After thousands of people report complaints and call for Essure to come off the market, the FDA announced it will require Bayer to conduct a clinical study and potentially add a black box warning to Essure boxes. Black box warnings are the FDA’s highest level and indicate that a product may cause death or serious injury. Read more about the FDA’s announcement. [3]

The above is nothing short of lip-service, if that! The FDA is a quasi-pharmaceutical-medical manufacturers’ puppet agency, in this writer’s opinion. Such a harmful device needs to be taken off the market—immediately—not subject to a Black Box warning and clinical study, which we know beforehand how the study will turn out, since Bayer will be performing and, undoubtedly, writing the study results.

Essure is one more nail in the coffin of the FDA’s eventual demise as a citizen-health-protection agency. What can we expect from HHS, CDC, and the FDA when, collectively, they allow and approve for licensure, and also set mandates for neurologically toxic vaccines to be given to infants, toddlers, teens, adults, and senior citizens? It defies logic—and medical science—that federal health protection agencies would allow all those chemical and metallurgical [aluminum, sodium borate, ethylmercury, nickel, etc.] toxins to be inserted into the human body. There has to be another reason other than sheer and deliberate ignorance!

  1. Not to mention unsterilized metal speculums used in Gynecological exams famous for spreading disease from woman to woman.

  2. They are also not able to properly sterilize the tubes used in colonoscopies. Had two GI pathology tests. No pathogenic candida before colonoscopy but rare candida parapsilosis [spreading from the exams] afterward. NOT FUN!

  3. Looks nasty and painful – probably invented by a Rothchild.

  4. You tell ’em Catherine. Insanity, stupidity, and pure evil are running rampant in our alphabet agencies!
