Israel Attacks Syria Near Damascus Airport: Reports

By Brandon Turbeville

According to a flurry of reports appearing in the mainstream and independent media, Israel has struck inside Syria once again, this time near the international airport in Damascus.

At this time, it remains unclear what the target of the attacks might have been – Syrian military installations, weapons depots, civilians/civilian infrastructure, or something else entirely. It also remains to be confirmed than an attack actually took place.

There have been no immediate comments from the Syrian government as of this time.

There is also the distinct possibility that this attack never actually took place since this writer could find no actual mention of the “Syrian media reports” cited in the flurry of international press accounts at the time of the writing of this article. Indeed, the “Syrian media reports” cited actually come from Israeli media who have cited only a “Facebook page associated with the regime.

Two weeks ago, Israel reportedly struck a “weapons convoy” in Syria, alleging that the convoy was destined to arm Hezbollah.

On June, 2014, Israel launched a series of airstrikes against Syrian military positions under the pretext of retaliation for a cross-border attack which was almost certainly initiated by death squad fighters whose logistical inadequacy spilled over into Israeli occupied territory in the Golan Heights. Given the questionable circumstances surrounding the justifying incident – the killing of yet another Israeli teenager by an alleged anti-tank missile – one would be justified in questioning the Israeli story.

On October 30, 2013, Israel attacked and completely destroyed a Syrian air defense base in Snobar Jableh, Syria which is located near Latakia, a port city on the coast of the Mediterranean. The base was alleged to have housed a surface-to-air missile battery.

Of course, if this bombing did in fact take place, this was not the only time where Israel inflicted an injury against the enemies of Islamic extremists during the course of the Syrian conflict. It is known that Israel launched attacks against Syrian forces and military convoys at least four times prior to the October 30 attack.

Israel has regularly launched illegal and aggressive attacks on Syrian territory since the Syrian crisis began in earnest.

The Zionist settler state has been a rabid supporter of the terrorists infesting Syria since the very beginning of the crisis.

The latest series of attacks bring a new dimension, however, since the Russians are now engaged in their own bombing campaign against the savages supported by the United States, NATO, the GCC, and Israel.

Many have wondered whether or not the Russians would mount a response to the Israeli aggression since, in the past, it appears that the Russians have set up virtual “no-fly zones” surrounding certain areas and entrance points into the country.

Whether Israel was somehow able to enter Syria via a location that was not yet under total Russian air control or whether it simply went ahead with its treacherous mission and Russia neglected to respond or interdict accordingly is a question that will only be answered in time.

This must be borne in mind when evaluating the nature of the claims. Indeed, the “Syrian media reports” cited actually come from Israeli media who have cited only a “Facebook page associated with the regime.” This means that the reports could have been generated by Western or Israeli sources themselves to project a sense of invincibility surrounding their own military capabilities and sense of weakness surrounding the Russians and Syrians.

Regardless, Israel has undoubtedly attacked Syria repeatedly in the past. Thus, one can only wonder how long Syria and Russia can continue to allow the Israelis to act with impunity in the skies above Syria.

  3. Humm.. I think that it’s pure bullshit ! If it was true, then there would have been someone going down in flame..
As far as I understand, there’s a non declared Fly Zone over Syria reinforced by Russian S300 missiles…
So? I’m waiting for unbiased confirmation on this story.. I’m not holding my breath…

  4. Israel has absolutely no intention of returning THE NEWLY STOLEN GOLAN HEIGHTS BACK TO SYRIA!
There’s oil in them heights and Israel wants it! Unfortunately it belongs to Syria!
IF it is true the israelis attacked syria, this is an act of war from the tabernacle of SATAN!

  5. I believe that this is fake news. Too many “unconfirmed”

    reports…

  6. In matters where the Israelis may be involved, it’s wise to doubt anything not seen with one’s own eyes. They’ll lie simply to keep in practice.

  7. More international lawlessness by the Israelis.

    BDS cannot come soon enough.

  8. Story is a bit murky at this point – I’ll reserve judgement. I do recall that last year i$rael did loose two F16s to (presumably) ‘hostile fire’. 🙂

  9. If Russia is helping Syrian military defend against ISIS/ISIL, and Israel attacks the Syrian military then Israel better make plans to go to war with Russia; and the United States better stay out of that battle since Israel is the aggressors.

  10. ISRAEL WANTS WW3- ATTACKS DAMASCUS- RUSSIA SHOWS RESTRAINT TO SHOW THE

I doubt the israelis have attacked Syria with Russia helping the government but if they did i hope Mr Putin sends a missle in return.

We must be careful in not converting into news what cannot be verified. To avoid collective hysteria sometimes it is better to ignore some events that cannot be verified. Consider if US intervention in the the Vietnam war would have escalated without the Tonkin Bay hoax.

  15. Didn’t Iran offer to help in Syria too?
    And they just love IsaHell!
