Whenever one thinks the Obama administration’s war on the Second Amendment couldn’t get any more insane, Barack Obama prances onto the stage to prove everyone wrong yet again.
This time, it is not merely a carefully planned and orchestrated jig on the graves of mass shooting victims or pathetic whining about “gun crime” and the amount of time he must give regarding the issue. It is a push to ban a large number of Social Security benefits recipients from owning guns.
That’s correct. When the Obama administration can’t get its way by attacking gun owners head on, it merely turns to extorting the elderly and disabled whom it holds hostage via their need to receive Social Security benefits – benefits I might add, that are owed to them.
Thus, the Obama administration is pushing to prohibit Social Security benefit recipients from owning firearms if they “lack the mental capacity to manage their own affairs,” a move which the Los Angeles Times reports would affect millions of people whose disability payments – for one reason or another – are handled by other people.
The idea is to bring the Social Security Administration under the jurisdiction of laws that regulate who gets reported to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS), a database that was initially supposed to pertain to illegal immigrants, drug addicts, and felons.
Of course, it should be pointed out that, with the exception of illegal immigrants, prohibiting American citizens who are not confined to a prison cell from owning weapons is itself unconstitutional. Clearly, the push to add the Social Security Administration and thus millions of SS recipients under this new policy is unconstitutional as well.
Nevertheless, it is difficult to remember a time when a Presidential administration even pretended to be concerned with what the US Constitution had to say about anything.
As the Los Angeles Times reports,
A potentially large group within Social Security are people who, in the language of federal gun laws, are unable to manage their own affairs due to “marked subnormal intelligence, or mental illness, incompetency, condition, or disease.”
There is no simple way to identify that group, but a strategy used by the Department of Veterans Affairs since the creation of the background check system is reporting anyone who has been declared incompetent to manage pension or disability payments and assigned a fiduciary.
If Social Security, which has never participated in the background check system, uses the same standard as the VA, millions of its beneficiaries would be affected. About 4.2 million adults receive monthly benefits that are managed by “representative payees.”
The move is part of a concerted effort by the Obama administration after the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Newtown, Conn., to strengthen gun control, including by plugging holes in the background check system.
The Obama Administration and Social Security Administration have been crafting this new policy in relative secret.
Finally informed about the issue, the National Rifle Association and the National Council on Disability are both opposing the initiative, the latter in opposition due to the fact that millions of disabled Americans will have their rights eviscerated as a result of this policy.
Of the many enrolled who may be affected, disabled veterans are among the high risk category for having their Second Amendment violated.

I usually don’t get upset about much. But when I read this, I felt my blood pressure go through the roof. No one will ever, ever come to my house and get my husband’s guns. He has every right to own a gun, and I will not allow anyone to take away from him the only pleasure in life he has anymore, and that is hunting, fishing, and being outdoors. He was a hard worker all of his life, and then one day, a tree he was felling got him, and he nearly drowned when it pinned him. I had to take over the day to day stuff like our bank account, but this was only because of Social Security requirements.
This is not about saving lives, but about gaining control of the citizenry of our beloved (and still free) country.
I have come to realize something in the past couple of years, and it all fits like a puzzle-Every aspect of our lives-climate, race relations, political, marriage, religious, our military, our food and water, etc. etc., is being corrupted, and we are purposefully being divided on every issue. The media is being used to blatantly do this. This is so we becoming so busy fighting each other that we cannot realize the real source of all the problems. The problems are being directed from someone; someone even above the Bilderberg Group and the World Banks. Someone who has hidden in the shadows all this time and who directs the world governments like a puppet show. Of course, I don’t know who it (or they) are, but they are out there, and we are headed down the rabbit hole fast.
As long you don’t register any fire arms, you are just fine, and they will not know who owns the fire arms.
The Snowden leaks confirmed what many already suspected, that the NSA was recording and storing all electronic communication — emails, phone conversations, faxes. All gun purchase background checks are conducted over the phone; the seller verbally communicates to the government agency all details of the purchase that the buyer has filled out on the form. So we have had a de facto national gun registration for years. This is why the gun grabbers are clamoring for background checks on private sales (Oregon’s new law goes into effect next month) so that even private sales will go into the NSA database. But even private sales are already in the database if buyer and seller have communicated electronically. The only gun sales that the government can’t find are the ones between criminals that take place in a parking lot with no prior phone or email discussion of the sale.
Yeah, I can see that what you mean, and it’s a lot worse than I thought. That mean we are screwed.
How much lower are we going to allow Obama to drag our country down? He has no respect for us or America and is attacking all of us personally. He is tearing our Constitution apart and no one in congress is protecting us or our country.
Why support any govt when ANY govt can be corrupted? why count on the congress to save us from the govt? when has any govt ever given back any power or liberty that it has taken (gay marriage? yay, how long did that take)? If they dont care about the constitution, why do we keep bringing it up? Like it is a garlic soaked crucifix against vampires? maybe the words on the paper were meant to remind the ‘people’ that they are the power, not to be used as some childish shield against an unconcerned tyranny.
Like the lady up top said, they look to divide us on every front. You want to blame obama and the dems? GOOD! you are right. take just as critical look at the ‘other’ side and see that they are doing the same. The cameras are on and it’s hate, hate, hate for the other team. what goes on when the cameras arent around?
Its not just Obama. All the politicians are backing him. Not one of them has brought impeachment charges against him. The republicans helped him pass TPP.
We have a one party system that is carrying out Continuity of Government. And they are only interested in themselves & their favorite Corporations, Wall Street & the Banksters (The Too Big Too Jail).
Congress doesn’t do anything because the handfull of good Senators can’t buck the rest and they all have their hands out for their share of the bounty!
odd how the beast seems to think they have any rights over social security payments.
I’m in favor of removing this savings to a more trustworthy source that would be subject to independent audits at any time.

Right after the highly illegal Federal Reserve was formed in 1913, their owners created the IRS and FORCED those making $10,000 ( a very big amount at the time) or more annually into paying a 1% tax. Although illegal, just about no common folks objected because it didn’t effect them. Today mostly the common folks pay the Unconstitutional income tax and far more than 1%. The moral is this, if you don’t object to injustice done to others sooner or later when it comes around to you it will be too late to protest.
