Friday morning Anarchist activist Adam Kokesh was sentenced to two years probation and given time served for 4 months served last summer and fall. This means Kokesh is convicted of a felony and has lost his right to bear arms legally. The conditions of probation are unknown at this time.

Kokesh had been facing felony charges for carrying a firearm outside of his home in D.C., also possessing an unregistered firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition. The charges stem from a video Kokesh released on July 4, 2013 in protest of the illegal action of the federal government.

Prosecutors sought a one-year sentence for the widely known activist, citing him as a “high risk for recidivism” and maintaining that he was “unremorseful for his actions”. Kokesh plead guilty to charges in November after prosecutors prepared to bring charges against Kokesh alleging that someone snuck him a cellphone while inside the D.C. jail. Depending on the terms of his probation Adam Kokesh is expected to return to his popular podcast Adam Vs The Man, and has announced the release of his book, FREEDOM, next Independence Day.
