Mainstream Media Cuts General’s Mic As He Tells the Truth On Syrian Gas Attack

By Rachel Blevins

An interview between Sky News and one of Britain’s former senior military officials on reports of a chemical attack in Syria was cut short when Major-General Jonathan Shaw started to question the logic behind the narrative that the Syrian government would intentionally launch an attack on its own people.

After serving as the commander of the British Armed Forces in Iraq, Major-General Jonathan Shaw has seen a side of the United States’ War on Terror that is hidden from the general public and covered up by the mainstream media.

In the interview with Sky News, Anchor Samantha Washington asked Shaw about whether Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s denial of responsibility for a reported chemical attack last week would force the UK to seek approval from Parliament before launching airstrikes targeting the Syrian government.

You know, quite apart from all that, the part that seems to be missing from this—and this was actually mentioned by the ambassador—is what possible motive might have triggered Syria to launch a chemical attack at this time in this place?” Shaw replied. “The Syrians are winning, don’t take my word for it, take the American military’s word for it.”

The general referenced comments made by the commander of United States Central Command, Joseph Votel, during a hearing with the Senate Armed Services Committee Transcript last month. In an exchange with Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham, Votel discussed the current state of the war in Syria:

GRAHAM: Is it too strong a statement to say that, with Russia and Iran’s help, Assad has won the Civil War in Syria?

VOTEL: I do not think that is too—that is too strong of a statement. I think they have provided him the wherewithal to—to be ascendant at this point.

GRAHAM: Is it still our policy that Assad must go?

VOTEL: I don’t—I don’t know that that’s our particular policy at this particular point. Our focus remains on the defeat of ISIS.

As General Shaw noted during his interview with Sky News, even U.S. officials are admitting that the “civil war” between the Syrian government and the Islamic State has come to an end—so why would Assad carry out an attack on his own people that would result in greater intervention from world superpowers, such as the U.S. and the UK?

“He said that Assad has won this war, and we need to face that,” Shaw said. “And then last week, you’ve got a Tweet by Trump that America is finished with [the Islamic State] and we’re going to pull out soon, very soon. And then suddenly you have a gas attack…”

Washington then jumped in and cut Shaw off mid-sentence, insisting that they were “out of time” after he had only been speaking for less than one minute.

This interview serves as a reminder that while the mainstream media conduct interviews with experts and officials to make it look as though it is open to sharing different voices and opinions, Major-General Shaw appears to have shared the wrong opinion and the points he was highlighting are ones that clashed directly with narrative Sky News was selling to its viewers. This was further evidenced by the fact that the UK later teamed up with the U.S. and France to launch airstrikes targeting the Syrian government that have the potential to spark World War 3.

The question over what motive Assad would possibly have to launch a chemical attack on his own people when he knows that reports of chemical attacks in the past—even though they were unverified—have resulted in increased aggression from the United States, serves as a reminder that nearly every war in U.S. history has been started based on lies and propaganda that were used to blind the American people into believing the war was being fought “for their freedom.”

Raise your hand if the hypocrisy is surprising you? The orthodoxy will stay in place no matter what. This general Shaw was spouting rhetorical nonsensical fakenews. While reading this, I seen an Activist Post poster off the the side where an activist fighting the GM mosquitos in Florida was found dead in a hotel pool. Could this Shaw be next, face down and bloated in a pool of water? Or, was he, being a ‘lifer’ as we call it, playing a part? “I know you’ve been very patient waiting for us, but we’re gonna have to end it there”; I bet Washington is extremely proud of herself, and her ego grew three times. Grinch style. I will email my proxies and ask for an end to this, contextually how would they like it if all the people/countries of the world became fed up and attacked the West as one and it was us(them/the proxies, the West) being bombed? The President is only Commander and Chief if he is actually leading the charge upon the battle field, not in a private bunker or an office. I will remind my proxies this, and those whom are perpetrating this are actually involved in war crimes against humanity. I may be murdered or thrown in a cage, but I am sick of this insanity. The primitives of hierarchy and sovereignty need for the first time to actually know their place and feel justice.

    • Yep, you drank the cool-aid all right. What the general said was absolutely logical, but yet you now are trying to throw the baby out with the bath water. Your ranted prattle is almost incomprehensible, which you could have stated in just two sentences. Get down off your hysterical pulpit and get real.

Logic dictates that Assad had absolutely no reason to attack his own people with chemical weapons, but yet Britain and France decided unilaterally to attack without so much as a vetting of exactly what took place. By the way you moron, it has also been proven that those Chemicals were not made in Syria, but in I believe either the UK or France or some other northern European country, which tells me that either they had a hand in the attack or sold those weapons to ISIS to continue to destabilize Syria for their own political agenda !

      • Veteranstoday.com documents that Syrian forces captured camps of the CIA/MOSSAD mercenaries fighting Syrian forces. Poison gas cannisters were found in the camps. They were labled in German and thus produced in Germany. The most recent “gas attack” is clarified by reporters in Syria to have been a total farce, and did not occur. Photos, etc were staged and publicized by the MSM. To learn the ownership of the MSM, search on the phrase, tapnewswire 96% .

      • I assumed that he didn’t mean what he typed. (It’s just a sad fact that not many whose first language is English can use it properly.) Did he actually say that the general was spouting nonsense? If so, I’m with you.

I will in fact do so. Thanks.

    • “The primitives of hierarchy and sovereignty need for the first time to actually know their place and feel justice.”

This kind of reminds me of the frog in boiling water from Inconvenient Truth. In a way it leaves me a bit chilled. In another way it offers a bit of solace.

I recall experiencing the ‘news’ of Timothy McVeigh and his alleged trial, subsequent death sentence. The families were granted permission to watch via CCTV as he was executed. At that point, I thought the whole farce was anything but not justice at all.

The families did not want justice, they wanted only gratifying vengeance. It was this which the UNITED STATES of AMERICA gave the families as well. The whole Spandau Ballet was played out in the mainstream media, the judicial system, and finally at this young man’s execution.

What had this young man done? He had given his all to find that a promised pie in the sky was a lie. That made him very angry, sad, feeling lost, feeling betrayed.

Understand I am not defending his alleged actions of the bombing. No, I do not condone violence as such as that. Many other ways existed to share his emotions, share his experience in being lied to about the Great American Dream.

That noted, I also do not condone the violence of THE UNITED STATES of AMERICA. In executing him they created yet another wrongful act, everyone should know that two wrongs a right do not make. But that is only one example, quite a few more have presented themselves.

So yes, solace that we might see justice. Think it might be a welcomed change, even if it chills me a bit. Perhaps the chill can reignite the fire inside. As it is, I’ve grown numb living the insanity you speak of.

McVeigh did not act alone either. There was another man with him in the van. Who, and where, is this person. I concur with everything you stated. The American Dream is called a dream for a reason, and not, say, a reality. In the Tom Brady doc, he tells his son after making his 11 year old boy kiss him on the mouth in front of a camera and people, “There is always a cost”. What cost is that Brady I wonder? One can accomplish nearly anything, as long as one is connected and willing to sacrifice to get it. As to your last sentence: yes, becoming numb to the insanity and primitiveness of our world. Specially the “1st world countries”. Have a great Ben, as great as you can anyways.

        • “There was another man with him in the van. Who, and where, is this person. Who, and where, is this person. ”

I seem to recall a last name of Nichols, that is if memory serves correctly. As to the where I’m not sure. Thinking Nichols was a limited hang out or agent provocateur used by the government via F.B.I involvement. I may be incorrect in such thought. At any given the Nichols I recall seemingly melted away into the ether and background, obfuscation can effectively covert people and actions especially if one might consider a person needing ‘pulled out’ quickly and discretely.

“Have a great Ben, as great as you can anyways.”

Always do try. Bit of side info here. Living presently in an apartment complex. Two doors is another Benjamin. The first three letters of his surname are Mor. The first three of mine are Bad. Our land lady calls us the Ben twins, Bad Ben, Mor Ben. At least there’s that for now. 🙂

  2. This so called TV talking head should resign. She was attempting to censor the truth with her abrupt dismissal of the military expert. Is it no wonder, we all don’t trust the MSM any longer?

  3. A quote by a man named Jeremiah Johnson I ran across awhile back seems to be proving true more and more by the day.
” Camouflage yourself in your everyday life: anything ‘different’ can be perceived as a threat by the herd, and the herd is not a herd of cattle but a pack of wolves.”

  4. I feel sorry for you , Rachel. You have to make a living, but lie for it. Not much of a life.

    • Something like that. I don’t know how sorry I feel for people who so casually aid an effort that if it’s successful will result in death and suffering on a massive scale.
