Trump’s Pick For FDA Attempts To Distance Himself From Big Pharma

By Derrick Broze

Critics are calling attention to the relationship between pharmaceutical companies and President Trump’s nominee to the Food and Drug Administration.

Dr. Scott Gottlieb is promising to recuse himself from more than 20 companies he is involved with should he be accepted as the head of the Food and Drug Administration. Gottlieb made the promise after his relationship with pharmaceutical corporations became a concern to those who oppose his nomination to the FDA. In a letter to the ethics head of the Department of Health and Human Services, Gottlieb promised to recuse himself from more than 20 companies in which he is financially involved.

Gottlieb is a physician who was the deputy commissioner at the FDA from 2005 to 2007 under the Bush administration. He currently sits on the board of several small “biopharma” companies and advises GlaxoSmithKline, the sixth largest pharmaceutical company in the world. Gottlieb also works for  venture capital fund New Enterprise Associates and is managing director of investment banking firm TR Winston & Co.

The increased focus on these connections come after a report from the Wall Street Journal revealed details of Gottlieb’s relationship with pharmaceutical companies. According the WSJ, Gottlieb has earned millions of dollars as an executive and in speaking fees and consulting fees from the pharmaceutical industry.

As Fortune notes, “Gottlieb has previously promoted fewer FDA regulations in order to speed up the drug approval process, a goal which has also been strongly endorsed by President Donald Trump.” These conflicts will be explored on April 5 at the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP)  committee’s hearing on Gottlieb’s nomination. Interestingly, Reuters reports that Gottlieb – or whoever the nominee ends up being – would “be responsible for implementing key elements in the recently passed 21st Century Cures Act, which calls on the agency to streamline the drug approval process.”

Implementation of the 21st Century Cures Act points to a deeper purpose for the incoming head of the FDA. For more on that we look to a recent report from Truthstream Media. “The “21st Century Cures Act” – HR 34 – became law in December, 2016 and most people have no idea what it contains,” an Activist Post Editor’s Note states. “Essentially, it redefines what is meant by informed consent. Or, put another way, it expands the ability for Big Pharma to experiment on the population under the assumption that the dangers of vaccines and pharmaceuticals are too minimal for serious consideration.”

Dr. Gottlieb’s ties to biopharma run deep, given that he sits on the
boards of a number of co’s, consulting with others, such as
    GlaxoSmithKline.

The revolving door continues to turn. I think trump is turning out to be a turd.

    • robertsgt40

It’s starting to look like trump is either a willing accomplice or he’s being royally set up. His “team” is packed with Goldman garbage and other insiders. The continued escalation in global conflicts is telling to say the least.

    • chiripero

“turning out to be a turd” ? A turd is the finished product, that is why he was “selected.”

  • L Garou

Yeah, we don’t expect you to round up the usual suspects and hang them, (as much as they deserve it), but could you please get them to ease up on all the damn psycho-pills, opioid-pills and bad advise?!

I reject the big pharma’s horse scat and choose not to participate.
Synthetic drugs attack organs as do vaccines.
I have not been to a doctor since the mid 90’s.
There are plenty of herbs, minerals and vitamins to keep you healthy even during the “flu” season.
    Ingest organic.

      Well said.

Defund the FDA charade and privatize its approval functions with a more efficient non-corrupt approval model, repeal FDA laws which prohibit the approval of natural substances (which often work better and safer than unnatural pharma synthetic chemicals) for treatment of diseases, and prohibit FDA cronies at Pharma from lobbying and making political “donations” to legislators to maintain their monopoly status… and healthcare costs will plummet, more lives will be saved in the process.

Read “Murder By Injection” by Eustace Mullins for a real story about the FDA. Also take a look at the research and development of radio frequency curing of compromised organisms by Dr. Royal Raymond Rife beginning with his discovery in 1919, then read up on his experiences with the FDA in 1933.

His research enabled my granddaughter to give birth to a beautiful healthy girl in 2014 after being told by her American doctor that she had a condition that would prevent her from ever getting pregnant, and if she somehow managed to get pregnant she only had a 10 % chance of carrying to term. Her Icelander husband wrote a computer program for her based on Rife research and she got pregnant after being on it for two weeks. Nine months later the miracle occurred.

How can seniors afford 500.00 a month for advair plus there other meds. It can be produced and sold for 30 or 40 dollars. Thats the kind of things that need fixing.

I would not trust anyone who has , has ever had ties to the pharmaceuticals industry .Period.The FDA needs to operate at arms length from the industry it claims to monitor, otherwise it is just musical chairs.

Oh, well if he says he is going to recluse himself then certainly that makes everything above board. Nothing to see here, just the same bat shit crazy rich and entitled Corporatist-MIC-Bankster cabal rushing for the revolving door with government. As a result of the shenanigans of both Trump The Buffoon and Hillary The Crooked in the 2016 election and aftermath, the citizenry is more aware than ever of the fact that be Republican or Democrat it just doesn’t really matter as both the left wing and the right wing belong to the same dirty bird who is a turkey vulture when it comes to domestic policy and a war hawk when it comes to foreign policy. As FDR wrote, “The liberty of a democracy is not safe if the people tolerated the growth of private power to a point where it becomes stronger than the democratic state itself. That in its essence is fascism: ownership of government by an individual, by a group, or any controlling private power.”

I am glad I do not vote any more. It is turning out that Trump is the swamp. I didn’t think the real owners of America would let anyone become the ceo of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA corporation who wouldn’t do as they are told. It is crystal clear to me that the Deep State is fully in charge of the government and they are running the show for the real owners of this country. Don’t look now folks but we are way passed the point of no return. BTW Amazon has banned over 70 books that question the Holacaust Hoax.

    • chiripero

Rudy, watch the Corbett Report on youtube from February 4, 2017 entitled “How Trump Filled The Swamp.” BTW, I abandoned the Big-Box Party’s in the mid 1970s while I was working inside the government and saw that the “plan” was to destroy this country from the inside. I got out of there and registered as a “non-partisan” voter. In December 2012 I finally registered with the Constitution Party and am trying to make some progress there, but we have no help from the MSM. Do you think that could be due to the same people who “encouraged” Amazon and others to ban all of those books ?

The FDA Adverse Reaction web site claims that FDA approved dope used in an FDA approves manner kill over 100,000 people per year in allopathic strongholds ( hospitals ) in the U.S.
Add the people killed by FDA approves dope that were not reported, outside of allopathic strongholds, and in other countries and the numbers go up.
Add deaths from reported allopathic sales-droid errors following FDA regulations.
Add deaths from allopathic stronghold acquired infections of both patients and visitors and spread to other individuals.
You eventually find that allopathy, the killing machine, is the leading cause of death in the U.S.

I would MUCH PREFER that the head of the FDA would be a staunch advocate for holistic / alternative/ natural medicine! I don’t trust Satanic ORGANIZED CRIME BIG PHARMA at all. — — My personal rule of thumb is, “If the FDA has approved it, whatever you do, don’t take it.” — Doctors kill more people than wars & traffic accidents combined.
