All around the USA, Canada, the EU and other countries, utility companies are employing “no-option enforcements,” along with threats of disconnecting and interruption of utility services, for refusing retrofitting safe analog meters for electric, natural gas and water utilities with EMF-RF-microwave-emitting, health-damaging (Non-thermal adverse health effects) AMI Smart Meters. Utility companies’ lobbyists and public relations campaigns regarding AMI Smart Meters apparently cite safety statistics and information that say, “cell phones are astronomically bad and Smart Meters are next to nothing,” as found in the PSO of Oklahoma trifold brochure explaining Smart Meters.
One determined Owasso, Oklahoma, resident, Mr. Joe Esposito, took it upon himself to perform a test to challenge PSO’s trifold brochure statistics regarding AMI Smart Meter safety, after listening to Dr. Dietrick Klinghardt, MD, [2] discussing health concerns from Smart Meter EMF-RF exposure.
Much to Mr. Esposito’s credit and determination, he spent over $1,000 several years back to purchase a digital microwave radiation measuring device—the HE35C High Frequency Analyzer—that he used to perform seven tests to check the veracity of the statistics PSO published in the “Health and Safety” section of its trifold brochure.
Mr. Esposito went about his research using exceptional methodology, plus videography and chart production, for someone who apparently is not a professional scientist. Additionally, Joe published 94 articles about Smart Meters in the Banner Newspaper [3] in Oklahoma.
The PSO took its statistical information for the trifold brochure from the 2011 California Council of Science and Technology document. However, Joe found contradicting research stats published January 31, 2016 by Dr. Daniel Hirsch, which indicate the exact opposite for the safety of “cell phones at ear during use” than what PSO says in its brochure! As a result, Joe wanted to know what the real deal was regarding EMF-RF exposure for all the exposures PSO cited in its brochure, so he made this 43 minute video on February 3, 2016.

The first 13 minutes introduce and explain what Joe does. The actual High Frequency Analyzer tests begin at 13:08 on the timeline.
Using his HE35C High Frequency Analyzer, Joe documented via video and comparative charts, the real-time EMF exposures from various EMF-emitting devices at various distances, as listed in the PSO trifold brochure.
Here are the exposures tested
- Smart Meter 3 feet away outside the home
- Smart Meter 10 feet away outside the home
- Transmission intervals are every few seconds, not 1 to 2 minutes only a day
- Wi-Fi Router at various distances
- Television
- Microwave oven
- Cell Phone at ear during use

It needs to be noted that every one of the readings that Mr. Esposito’s High Frequency Analyzer came up with proved unequivocally that the information put out in the PSO brochure for consumers’ education, awareness and assurance of safety regarding Smart Meters was apparently erroneous or false, and definitely misleading. The results are shown in the chart below.

For anyone who’s concerned about non-ionizing radiation (EMF/RF) coming from Smart Meters attached to or in your home, the work that Joe Esposito has done certainly proves that all 50 U.S. states’ Public Utility Commissions need to “go back to the drawing board” regarding Smart Meter safety and health issues.
There is too much medical and scientific information, studies and data published that documents what’s called “Non-thermal adverse health events from microwaves” being emitted from cell phones and towers, Wi-Fi, monitoring devices and utility company AMI Smart Meters.
Since Smart Meters are an integral part of the “Internet of Things,” perhaps too much successful lobbying was done at various federal agency levels regarding the inaccuracy of EMFs/RFs emissions from Smart Meters, and Congress needs to get involved too, since it has oversight. Why?

Smart Meters theoretically are defective insofar as they are made with plastic parts and can cause what’s called “hot sockets.”
Hot Sockets occur when a portion of the meter base around a blade is melted. Every utility company in the USA has been called to investigate such fires, which meter manufacturers and TESCO don’t want the public to know about. Yet, the public—and utility company customers with Smart Meters (SMs)—have every right to know the dangers regarding SMs that cause fires, explosions, or scorching. [4]

There is no technology on SMs to forewarn of overheating, fire danger or explosion, even though manufacturers would like to make their SMs able to withstand hot socket conditions for longer periods of time so the hot socket problem would not occur. [4]
Mr. Joe Esposito’s Smart Meter research work must be taken seriously by everyone: consumers, states legislatures and Public Utility Commissions, federal agencies, and Congress.
The public cannot be subjected to appliances or PUC rules and regulations that will make them and their children sick, plus increase the costs of healthcare for health insurance companies, Medicare and Medicaid.
AMI Smart Meters aren’t what they are cracked up to be. Didn’t Joe prove it?

What is extremely lacking in any of the articles of this type are the frequencies which are being tested, actual power readings (not estimates or generalizations), and the rest of the information such as modulation methods, whether CDMA or any other type of PSK-type principles are applied to the signals.
It’s not simple enough to say “cell phones” when each model may operate at 700MHz, 900MHz, 2.4GHz, 5GHz, etc.
More effort needs to be put forth by the people who really want answers (scientific and technical in nature) in order to properly inform the public with solid information, not wild-sounding conspiracy-theory rhetoric.
I do believe that there could be something here, but I need to do further testing for myself because I, like so many others, don’t believe everything I see on the Internet.

If you have a SM, stand in front of it 3 – 5 ft. for 1/2 hr or more. You will start to feel the symptoms because the high piked RF radiation is being shot at you constantly and will start to degrade your blood cells, will start to cause oxidative damage to your cells, there will be increased leaking or inflammation in your gut and blood brain barrier and other organs as the body tries to compensate or react to this attack on our bodies.
Our earth vibrates at the Schumann resonance of 7.83 Hz. This is the resonance and vibration that we and all biological life and plants have evolved for millions of years to thrive on. Such a perversion and pollution of this normal environment that has taken place in the last few decades and most egregiously by the introduction of the most offending devices – Smart Meters – is a new and dangerous frontier that the Corporatocracy has imposed on us without proper safety testing and our informed consent.

Without trying to sound too smarmy…you are using a computer, are you not…an electrical device in and of itself rife with electrical noise?
The larger question I have for the community is: why aren’t they more organized?
I have even offered services to people with claims in this area, who want testing done yet I have been turned down every time.
Even if I publish my results I doubt it will get any traction.
My computer doesn’t put out the type of high spiked RF radiation that a SM does. If you have an RF reader – you will know that. Plus my computer is wired by choice. I had NO choice in the Smart Meter – they installed it without my knowledge or permission.
Why aren’t we more organized?? We do the best we can with our own free time and our own money. We are not funded by the Corporatocracy like the other side, which has lots of blood money to push this down our collective throats.
Any good work is not wasted – so don’t hesitate to do what you can.
Some smart meters use the 2.4 GHz portion of the spectrum. This is the same spectrum utilized by microwave ovens (quite noisy), and also WiFi, Bluetooth, amateur radio, and a few others.

The big one here is WiFi, as that is the technology that a lot of smart meters use.

Your computer, if it has WiFi capability built in (as most laptops do for the last ten years). This WiFi signal could be just as disruptive to sensitive individuals as a smart meter.

I don’t have an “RF reader”. There are people, believe it or not, who are taking advantage of the public by coming up with devices which they will bring into a home and try to scare the homeowner into buying, coincidentally, a device the tester has which will “make the homeowner safe in their own home”.

As an electronics technician for the last 30 years I have an array of test equipment at my disposal. That is why I highly encourage a more organized front. That’s my whole point.
Testing of a cellular tower requires the receiving eequipment to be out of any shadow zones, in addition to other numerous consideration. 10 feet from a cellular tower is not an ideal location to test field strengths.
Without knowing the intended or unintended modes of operation revealed by a full-field spectral analysis (and possibly fromthe company that owns the tower) any results obtained are not valued by the scientific method.
For the true skeptics among us, any information provided by the cellular provider or anybody else using the tower can be used as a control. i.e., freqs found which aren’t supposed to be there would draw attention and require further investigation.
