When feeding the homeless becomes an act of civil disobedience, Americans have been asleep for far too long.
Luckily, however, there are still good people who are willing to defy such arbitrary and ill-conceived laws and ordinances.
The folks over at the aptly named organization Don’t Comply, took to the streets just outside the Austin Street Shelter in Dallas this weekend to perform, what has now become a revolutionary act – feeding the homeless.
“We are not complying with a bad law today,” Matthew Short, PR director of Don’t Comply said. “Evidently the city of Dallas believes that it’s wrong, or bad, or unlawful for us to feed more than a certain number of people at a time. But, during Christmas, we want to show love to our community and give these people a chance to survive the winter, whether it be with blankets or coats, or just giving them a holiday party like today with all kinds of cookies, and goodies, turkey and dressing, and the whole nine yards.”
Last December, the Dallas city council enacted Ordinance No. 29595, which makes it illegal to serve food to the homeless without jumping through a statist myriad of bureaucratic hoops, including a fee, training classes, and written notices.
One should not need to file multiple forms and pay a fee to obtain a permit to give food to those in need who are willingly ready to accept it. The folks at Don’t Comply know this.
“All of the homeless people that I talked to during the event were extremely grateful for the support and there was a sense of humanity that is indescribable. Interacting with other human beings whom most consider to be living life at rock bottom will likely alter your perspective on the world around you,” explained Sanders.
The event went off without a hitch, even after code enforcers showed up. Lead organizer of the event, Murdoch Pizgatti was confronted by the enforcers who told him to file the proper paperwork upon the event’s conclusion to which, Pizgatti politely replied, “no.”
“We’ve already had to speak to the police, they’ve already come and delivered code to us,” said Short, explaining what happened when the code enforcers showed up. “But, after shaking hands with them, they realized we’re all armed – and we’re gonna do what we’re gonna do because it’s not an immoral thing that we are doing.”

I’ve known about usury & the banksters huge & nasty con trick of creating money out of thin air & lending it to us at interest for decades but few were prepared to listen. Now the damage done by banksters & their pliant politicians is becoming clearer each day & eyes & ears are opening.

Now they insure that they pay no taxes by writing off debt that has no real world source.

Our system needs interest rates, what we don’t need is excessive and or punitive interest rates. If banks treated lending as if every borrower were family maybe they could see fit to provide funds for businesses homes etc with compassion instead of greed. I truly believe that anyone who once they achieve extreme wealth doesn’t want to help others is a failed soul. I said HELP though not give to the lazy and inept.

I realize that but the way banks are supposed to work is deposits are invested to increase the value of the money deposited. Our bloated financial system provides many jobs. Not all investments turn out with a positive result and interest helps to buffer and protect from loss. However, a bank that charges 11% on a loan and then pays out .017% on savings has it backwards.
If you as a nation. Say you have 100.00 of wealth.. You have 100 citizens.. Each gets a 1.00… but as time goes your citizens have babies.. Now you have 300 citizens and only a 100.00 in total… How do the new citizens survive… Thats is why bank came up with a scam to make money out of thin air… Every one needs some cash in their pockets and there is only so much gold… You can invest all you want but there is only 100.00 in all… Is it really that sinister.. Money is not natural. It has to be created. I’m not against it being created from thin air as I believe it has to be done this way. What I do most strenuously object to is the imposition of interest upon the money created from thin air. This demanded interest is NEVER created which means we, the borrowers who need money in society, end up as debt-slaves having to borrow money to pay the interest of the last loan. Even our rotten governments do this as a matter of course. Politicians could cure this but they don’t. They’re paid well by their bosses, the banks, to keep the status quo intact to our never-ending misfortune. Watch them retire to very well paid non-jobs in finance when they leave politics. Sinister? More like malevolent.
By that logic, bread and simple huts are not natural since they have to be created. But humans, as rational, acting beings, find ways to solve problems. Using a medium of exchange to resolve the mutual coincidence of wants problem in barter is a peaceful, productive solution.
Nothing wrong with money as a medium of exchange. Wealth has to be distributed. What’s wrong is when usury or the charging of interest is applied to the creation of money and that the interest money that is demanded is never created. This leads to unpayable & fraudulent debt that ends with society in thrall to the banks & debt-slavery encompasses all just like today & it’s getting worse. That’s how compound interest works.
Interest is not an inherently-evil concept. It places a price on the borrower’s time preference and the lender’s risk. Value is then created in the borrower’s ability to use money immediately, and the lender’s assurance of payment in exchange for his surrender of his own utility in that money until a later date.
Now when inflation and central banking get involved, things do get messy. Arbitrary low interest rates set according to Keynesian principles flood the market with bad information about the stored wealth people have stored up to use, signaling that investments in infrastructure will be rewarded by buyers who can afford the products. Low interest rates signal a high supply of lendable funds, or a high level of savings. This was one of the major factors that led to the housing bubble and subsequent crisis.

Banks don’t loan money that is deposited. When was the last time you were refused access to any of your monies because the bank had lent it to someone?

It’s sad the city of Dallas is doing this what is so wrong with people giving out meals clothing, and more to the homeless, or using their facilities paid for by parishioners, to put on a homeless party to help these cities are doing this I think cause to get more money from the generosity of people it’s shaneful. Leave the churches and the nonprofits alone that have been working hard to help the homeless, god bless these people for a loving gesture local gov. get out of the pockets of these people your nothing but a band of thives.

By all means be an activist. Stand up against unjust laws. Be armed and ready. Feed the hungry. Clothe the naked. Help those in need. I hate government overreach as much as anyone, but let’s be honest and fair and logical. Below is a link to the law. It’s requirements are few and reasonable. It states that you should let the, know if you’re going to have a large crowd – seems logical. It states that someone that will be serving the food should be trained (aware) of food safety. It states that food should be at the proper temperatures. It states that the organizer should make accommodations for the disposal of the trash for the event.
Please don’t stop being proactive about injustices, but let’s see this for what it is – hype to stir up strife. Understand what you are railing against before you rail.

In West Palm Beach, Florida, they passed an ordinance forbidding people from giving anything to people reduced to begging. In Fort Lauderdale, Florida, they harassed an old man for feeding people. It is our human right to give whatever we want, to whomever we want without a “thug” with a baton threatening us. This is indescribable evil. Given this unrighteousness, people are justified in speaking of a revolution. Let this be the means to do so. All across America, wherever there is a tyrannical dehumanized law robbing people of dignity, people can gather and commit gracious, humane acts; and if millions do so, I suspect the police will abandon their evil master forcing them to be complicit in these crime – and pitch in.

American Red Cross offers free training in serving food and food handling, abailable if you sign up as a volunteer.
It is excellent training which I highly recommend as desirable for this kind of activity.
A plus is that you’ll be ready to help out should disaster happen in your neck of the woods. ?
This is madness. The Dallas city council should be impeached for proposing such an ordinance. This is not Texas.
