Despite Legal Pot in DC, Cops Bust “Kush Gods” Service that Traded Weed for “Donations”

“Marijuana smokers are not going to attack and kill a cop…Alcohol is a much bigger problem,” states DC Police Chief Cathy Lanier. Let’s see if she puts her money where her mouth is and let the unjustly arrested Kush Gods go free.

Marijuana was recently legalized in Washington DC, and everyone is free to possess up to 2 ounces without being worried about police action. However, there are a multitude of unnecessary restrictions and regulations on the plant, which still put people at risk of police aggression, especially if they are carrying large quantities or are suspected of selling.

These restrictions create a strange environment where marijuana is only semi-legal, and the regulations on the books can be used against people if police choose to pursue a charge.

In the face of these restrictions, a group of freedom fighting entrepreneurs created an organization called “Kush Gods” that delivers cannabis products all around the DC area. They were hoping to be able to get around the regulations by giving away their products for free, but accepting donations instead of direct payments. This is surely a courageous move, but the Kush Gods took it even a step further, by establishing themselves as a legitimate business, with marijuana decals plastered all over their delivery cars.

For months, the Kush Gods have been traveling around DC in these vehicles delivering marijuana to satisfied customers. Meanwhile, the police were conducting surveillance on the group and allegedly making donations in exchange for marijuana.

30-year-old Nicholas Cunningham and 18-year-old Evonne Lidoff of the Kush Gods were arrested Tuesday and charged with distribution of marijuana. However, they say that the police are entirely wrong for arresting them and that they are acting within the law. They have even promised to reopen and return to business this week, despite the threat of arrest.

Cunningham told Fox 5 that, “Yes, I know what I am doing is very legal, and I feel like it is great for the city. I think that people should gravitate towards it because it is good for the community. It cuts down on crime and helps people with epilepsy. I came to D.C. to heal the nation”

“I will let everyone know the new locations, and we understand that the police have to do their job so it was just a miscommunication what is going on, but we will continue and we will be back at it tomorrow,” he added.

The Kush Kings are controversial in the city of DC, with many people seeing them as freedom fighters, and others seeing them as criminals. Some marijuana smokers in the city felt that the Kings should have run their operation more discreetly to avoid getting caught. However, the fact that they are working right out in the open is what makes their efforts so courageous and important.

One of the main reasons why marijuana is becoming more legal all over the country is because over the years, users have come out of the closet and have engaged in blatant civil disobedience by being “loud and proud” about their smoking habits. This growing marijuana culture of disobedience is what has been making these laws increasingly burdensome and unenforceable for police departments, and the Kush Gods take this defiance to a whole new level.

“It is only the few, who have mastered the Terror and fear nothing that are strong enough to face the tides. Caring nothing, even though they may be banished from their own homes and lands. They have done their work as the Great Ruler has ordered them and they are satisfied, knowing that all things will be straightened out in the Good Time Coming.”

  2. Cannabis was only made illegal by the gold collar scum that own the drug routes – to keep the little guy from making any monetary gains.
