It is here: Court ruling paves way for mass confiscation of firearms in America

gun confiscationBy Alex Thomas

In a ruling that directly paves the way for mass confiscation of firearms in America, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, in a much-anticipated decision, has upheld the constitutionality of the New York SAFE Act of 2013.

Shockingly, the court ruled that nearly all of the most drastic gun control law in the history of the United States did not violate the Second Amendment and is therefore constitutional.

That’s right, a law passed in the wake of Sandy Hook that included and paved the way for confiscation of millions of legally purchased firearms has been ruled “constitutional” with proponents already calling for a similar law to be enacted at the federal level.

As an article published by the American Thinker noted,

If the SAFE Act is upheld by the Supreme Court, nothing prevents Congress from summarily outlawing tens of millions of firearms overnight. Once those firearms become contraband, the government may confiscate and destroy them without compensating the owner (just as the government confiscates and destroys illegal drugs).

“The Second Circuit’s decision leaves the Second Amendment in its gravest peril ever.  Second Amendment rights are now hanging by a one-vote margin in the same Supreme Court that upheld Obamacare and declared a national right to gay marriage.

Constitutional conservatives and Second Amendment supporters ought to be terrified over the prospect of Justice Scalia having a heart attack during a Hillary Clinton presidency.” (And as we know Clinton is calling for mass confiscation herself)

Australian style mass confiscation is coming

In the weeks since the most recent mass shooting in the country, literally dozens of mainstream publications have promoted Australia as the country to look towards when considering new gun control laws in America.

Despite the fact that for years gun control groups and anti-gun liberals have claimed that they only want “common sense” gun control, news outlets such as Salon and Slate are once again openly praising Australia’s controversial 1996 gun control law, a law that included a mandatory gun buyback program under the threat of government force.

After the Oregon school shooting, highly trafficked liberal news outlet Slate republished an article praising Australia’s gun control law that was originally released in the wake of the Sandy Hook massacre.

In the weeks since the recent shooting the article has become the top read report on the site as well as linked by dozens of other liberal news outlets. (emphasis mine)

On April 28, 1996, a gunman opened fire on tourists in a seaside resort in Port Arthur, Tasmania. By the time he was finished, he had killed 35 people and wounded 23 more. It was the worst mass murder in Australia’s history.

Twelve days later, Australia’s government did something remarkable. Led by newly elected conservative Prime Minister John Howard, it announced a bipartisan deal with state and local governments to enact sweeping gun-control measures. A decade and a half hence, the results of these policy changes are clear: They worked really, really well.

At the heart of the push was a massive buyback of more than 600,000 semi-automatic shotguns and rifles, or about one-fifth of all firearms in circulation in Australia.

The country’s new gun laws prohibited private sales, required that all weapons be individually registered to their owners, and required that gun buyers present a “genuine reason” for needing each weapon at the time of the purchase. (Self-defense did not count.) In the wake of the tragedy, polls showed public support for these measures at upwards of 90 percent.

Like most other articles praising Australia’s gun laws, the author of the Slate article completely leaves out the fact that the buyback program was mandatory which means that anyone that refused to go along with the program was subject to government raids and or violence.

Remember, these are the same liberals who claim that they do not want to take away all guns while literally writing articles promoting a gun law that not only included gun confiscation but also banned purchasing guns for use in self-defense!

Another recent article published in the mainstream press, this time by CNN, dreamed of disarming all Americans while calling for banning all guns “once and for all”.

The article, written by liberal poet and Middlebury College professor Jay Parini, was a perfect example of how on one hand gun control advocates and their media allies tell the public that they only want “common sense” reform while on the other they are pushing for a full-scale ban.

Parini gets to the crux of his and the many who share his views on the left’s agenda which is the confiscation of millions of legally owned firearms under the threat of government attack and subsequent outlawing of all handguns and rifles.

Let me dream for a moment: I would much prefer to live in a country where only hunters who pass appropriately strict tests for mental competence and a knowledge of gun safety can still acquire rifles that are appropriate for hunting.

Handguns and assault rifles would be banned, period.

Banned. Period. There you have it folks, CNN letting a hard left authoritarian use their platform to “dream” about disarming America. It gets worse.

So let’s get rid of guns in this country, once and for all, making it a felony to possess a handgun or assault rifle. Over a period of years, illegal guns will gradually disappear. Guns don’t kill people, as they say.

People who acquire guns — legally or illegally — do. And we should make it extremely difficult for them to get their hands on these weapons.

Liberal media now pushing for gun owners to be shot

Not only are the mainstream media and gun control advocates pushing for a mass confiscation plan in the United States, they are also making it clear that they have no problem with gun owners being shot which would be a likely and obvious outcome if the government decided to outlaw millions of firearms overnight.

Just days ago, author and Coppin State University writing teacher D. Watkins published an article on the prominent hard left news outlet Salon.com that called for all gun owners to be shot if they wanted to use their 2nd Amendment right.

Starting out the article with the writer’s dreams of charging five thousand dollars per bullet, Watkins then makes his position on gun ownership in America startlingly clear. (emphasis mine)

Rock was definitely on point, $5000 bullets would be great but I’d take it a step further––I believe that being shot should be requirement for gun ownership in America. It’s very simple. You need to have gun, like taking selfies with pistols, can’t live with out it? Then take a bullet and you will be granted the right to purchase the firearm of your choice.

If we could successfully implement this rule, I guarantee the mass shootings will stop. Watching cablenews now in days makes me physically ill.

Week in and week out we are forced to learn about another coward, who can’t stand to deal with the same rejection that most of us face–– so they strap themselves with guns and then cock and spray at innocent people. Heartbroken survivors and family member images go viral, as our elected officials remain clueless.

So there you have it. A court has upheld a New York law that paves the way for mass confiscation in America while at the same time the mainstream media is pushing this plan for confiscation and making it clear that if gun owners have to be shot to achieve this agenda then so be it.

The one question that remains is whether or not the American people will stand by as their 2nd Amendment right is openly destroyed right before their very eyes.

  1. The people who are calling for these laws that are CLEARLY UNCONSTITUTIONAL regardless of what any court in the land may say, by making their Anti-American pronouncements have, in my opinion, renounced their citizenship in the United States and should be declared stateless and disenfranchised. That would place them without any of the protections afforded American citizens by the constitution they seem so desperately to hate. May God save us from those who propose to save us from ourselves. Who do they think they are, that they have the right to deny ME my rights. That is as Anti-American as it gets!

  2. God – please save us from these delusional libtards!!!! Violating the constitutional rights of law abiding citizens will NOT stop gun (or any kind of) violence. A societal respect for human life, fathers in the households and no longer glorifying the thug culture will.

  3. I think gun confiscation is a great thing. Let’s start with the police and the military. OK?

  4. Cognitive Dissonance | October 22, 2015 at 7:15 pm |

Keep in mind that the designers and implementers of the agenda in play do not care about our constitutional rights. The elites see the constitution as a piece of paper with no more value than a piece of paper, so we can all cry to the high heavens that they are violating our rights, but they have already decided that we have no rights. And they’re right. What to as people with no rights is the issue at hand.

  5. Cognitive Dissonance | October 22, 2015 at 7:16 pm |

Correction: what to DO as people with no rights is the issue at hand

  6. Edomite Bolshevik Jews want your guns to annihilate you like they did in 1917 Russia.

  7. The only rights that exist are those you’re willing to fight and die for.

  8. WTF! We will never use them to protect our rights ANYWAY! We have NO RIGHTS as it is and NO ONE has done a damn thing with their precious guns to stop it. WTF do you think the second amendment is for? So you can go hunting? Besides, anyone who tries to form any kind of anti-tyrant militia is quickly disposed of by our “freedom” loving government.
So go ahead and take the damn guns because it wont make a difference one way or another. We are screwed.

  9. Way Too Many Guns, Too few Jack Booted Thugs

The sheer numbers of guns and gun owners and the small workforce of jack booted thugs make complete gun confiscation impossible. It would take eight months of continuous kicking down doors for Obama’s minions to get rid of America’s guns. Assuming no one resisted.

    Let’s do the math.

    300 million guns.

    150
million get turned in because of some new law + outrageous fines if you
get caught with one. That still leaves 150 million guns in about 30
    million homes.

Now comes the tough part –

To raid a house you need around 20 people, which includes support / communications / medical personnel. For about 3 hours per house. Multiply 3 hours X 20 jack booted thugs X 30,000,000.

    That’s
1.8 Billion man-hours of effort or 250 days, assuming everything went
as planned. Of course it won’t, but for the sake of argument let’s
assume everyone in these 30,000,000 homes bends over and assumes the
    position.

There’s around 1.8 million individuals who could be
called upon for this massive operation. That includes police (1.2 m),
armed Federales (0.12 m) and military (0.5 m). At any one time only
half of those could be available, I would estimate.

Call it 900,000 jack booted thugs on tap. Assume an 8-hour day, since this operation is going to take a while.

    Each
    invasion of a home costs them 60 man-hours of effort. 900,000 x 8
hours, and then divided by 60 hours gives you how many homes they can
invade per day. It’s 120,000 houses per day.

    Ok.
30,000,000 homes / 120,000 per day is 250 days, assuming no days off for
federal holidays, spending time with their precious families, or going
to church to absolve themselves of violating their Oath to their Creator
    to defend the Constitution.

250 days to sweep America of guns, assuming no one resists.

Meanwhile, a man who was never on their gun list purchases one of these and gets to work on a Ruger knock-off:

And the whole process begins again.

  10. We are waiting !!!!!!!! BRING IT ON !

  11. CNN………. = Communist News Network

  12. They still don’t get it.
The 2nd Amendment has NOTHING to do with hunting.

  13. I’m all for banning guns. Let’s start with The Secret Service, then go down the line to CIA, FBI, DEA, ATF, and so on.

  14. Americans are debt slaves to The British Crown! Stupid Americans think they’re free, and don’t know they’re just serfs!

  15. If there really were such a thing as “gun nuts,” then judges like the ones running that appellate court would have a neat red hole in the middle of their forhead. The fact that no one goes after those guys tells me that all these mass shootings are staged psy-ops.

  16. Donation Instead of Taxation | October 23, 2015 at 2:23 pm |

The original Sons of Liberty fought to unfetter themselves from the shackles of taxation imposed by a tyrannical, governing body; and in it’s stead, they received an equally unjust “legal” form of “Constitutional” taxation. Donation is a voluntary practice putting the power over governance directly into the people’s hands. We would have the right to fund whichever cause we so wished. You don’t like war? Fine, don’t fund the military. This system can be implemented and is partially why the American Revolution started, to stop forced taxation. Then, the constitution was ratified, effectively making federal taxation legal. There is great irony now in contemplating the failed slogan “taxation without representation” when, in reality it should have been “donation instead of taxation”. I offer a quote for all of your contemplation:
“Antifederalists feared what Patrick Henry termed the “consolidated
government” proposed by the new Constitution. They saw in Federalist
hopes for commercial growth and international prestige only the lust of
ambitious men for a “splendid empire” that, in the time-honored way of
empires, would oppress the people with taxes, conscription, and military
campaigns. Uncertain that any government over so vast a domain as the
United States could be controlled by the people, Antifederalists saw in
the enlarged powers of the general government only the familiar threats
to the rights and liberties of the people.” – Ralph Ketcham

  17. Let’s start by confiscating all guns on TV and in Hollywood movies…hey Hollywood Liberals..put your money where your mouths are.

  18. The amount of ignorance is appalling. In many states, counties and municipalities the feds cannot enforce any further second amendment restrictions anymore. The laws and provisions have been created to avoid any further violations on fundamental unalienable rights so what they rule or say or do it doesn’t matter. The people will not follow through with any radical communist agendas for the disarmament of america. If the Australians like to be disarmed great for them. This will not happen in America. Someone will need to be armed to come to the rescue of those who cannot longer defend themselves. Or they might not go to the rescue and let them exposed to whatever the consequences based on their previous stupid choices. Sting once wrote a song called: History, will teach us nothing. Listen to it.

  19. againstcorporaterule | October 23, 2015 at 8:27 pm |

Tell that to all the people being brutalized by police! (since it is the police who will be enforcing the gun-control laws should they pass -a little common sense please!)

  20. “From My Cold Dead Hands”

  21. if thats the case then civil war will break out. leave OUR 2ND ALONE YOU FOOLS OF IGNORANCE CORRUPTED COURT SYSTEM.

  22. I’m not 100% sure but I don’t believe that Australia had anything like out 2nd Amendment.
These idiots that want us to “Take a bullet” need to pay attention to the news and see where having a permit & a gun has saved quite a few people and in some cases have gotten guns out of the hands of the people that should not have them.

  23. The horrifying part about the gun confiscations that occurred in Australia, was that they never tell you about the post-confiscation crimes statistics. Armed robberies were up 46% within two years as one example. So obviously, only the law-abiding turned in their guns. Killers will always lurk among us. Personally, I would rather deal with the reduced crime with gun ownership, an occasional nut case shooting spree- than know that after guns were taken I had no defense against the criminals or a corrupt government. Because history has shown us, that after a government takes away your right of self-defense, they have no qualms about taking your life also, along with your land, your business, your assets. How do you think that Vladimir Putin became a billionaire anyway? Because he is a savvy businessman? Nope. Confiscation.

  24. They want our guns?———> MOLON LABE !!!

  25. AP, you know this will never happen in America! No cop in his right mind would ever take on the duty of firearm confiscation because it would be a suicide mission. Stop fear mongering you frigging clowns..

  26. No matter what law they pass, if the State or Federal Government decided to confiscate our guns their would be a lot of people killed. That would start a Civil War the citizens against the Government.

  27. bullcrap…confiscation will lead to random assinations of anti gunners politicians, their famiky, even friends..and even uniformed officia,,,God forbid

  28. What a load of crap……but your right Guns don’t kill people, People Kill People…..So we need to get rid of People

  29. Obama want be protected forever an his cronies their the reason we need our guns an they know it
