Teen Who Built Gun-Firing Drone Arrested for Assaulting Cops

By Melissa Dykes

It’s pretty obvious the system is making an example out of this guy to deter others from following in his footsteps.

Eighteen-year-old mechanical engineering student Austin Haughwout of Connecticut put up a video called “Flying Gun” back on July 10th that shows his homemade drone hovering off the ground and firing a semiautomatic handgun:

You know, the kind of stuff the military and police departments across America currently have right now. The kind of thing that could be easily built by pretty much anyone these days.

The video went viral and people began freaking out that a citizen could create such a thing. The FAA announced it was “investigating,” although no laws currently exist specifically against this.

Now Haughwout has been arrested and released on a $20,000 bond. The claim is the charges have nothing to do with the actual drone itself, but it goes without saying (but we’ll say it anyway) that had Haughwout never uploaded that video, he wouldn’t have had any interaction with police at all in the first place.

According to Yahoo! News:

The charges have nothing to do with the drone, but stem from an incident last Sunday and a physical altercation with officers, the Clinton police department said.

He was arrested on Wednesday evening after being asked to turn himself in on an outstanding warrant.

Police said he refused to submit to arrest and that he hit and kicked at two officers “repeatedly”.

As a result he was charged with two counts of assault and a single count of interfering with an officer.

The arrest warrant also charged Haughwout with interfering with an officer and failure to obey an officer’s signal.

Really? Nothing to do with the drone, huh? Interesting that Yahoo! doesn’t state what the original warrant was for. Would the officers have even gone to this teen’s house had he not uploaded that video?

The bottom line here is, they had to find some reason to come down on the kid because there is no law against his drone gun. The system, apparently, feels threatened. Can’t have the plebs building the technology of the patricians.

As if anyone needs to be intimidated by the State in this case or made an example of anyway. Was this “flying gun” really a new idea singular to this teen? This is the natural evolution of drone technology in a country governed by the military-industrial complex; and, again, the military already has much worse than this. It’s not like the idea of a drone-controlled gun was a big secret or anything.

The only difference here is, the guy put a video up proving how easily it could be done.

  1. They want to convict him of a felony so he can never own a gun again. It is a setup.

    • Just because you’ve been convicted of a felony doesn’t mean you can never own a gun again. In many states depending on the conviction you get your civil rights back after 5 years. In other cases its possible to have your conviction set aside thus restoring your rights.

      • Agree, but it will put him out of commission for a while. Unfortunate. Hope he posts info on his development, but maybe the the police will get him to plea bargain to keep him from disseminating the design info.

      • I would like to know how that can be done

        • Depending on what state you live in will dictate how the process goes. It also depends on what type of felony the person is trying to set aside. Go to google and type in Felony conviction set aside YOUR STATE. I know a couple guys that have gone through the process and are now legal gun owners. They can go to a FFL and buy a pistol and one of them even has his CPL.

  2. The original warrant stems from driving away from the local library while using the Wi-Fi. Along comes a spider aka law enforcement with a chip on their shoulder asking questions why he was parked in the library lot and using the Wi-Fi like a normal teen in Connecticut. It’s a farcical arrest.

  3. What is all the fuss about. When the obamister has someone blown away with a drone, the cops murder someone using military hardware, both are given permission to do so by the minions of the district of Columbia and their minion lap dogs in the state houses. He is in trouble because he did not beg permission to exercise his freedoms under the constitution. The District of Columbia does not like competition in areas of needless violate, murder and theft.

    • well…WoW…maybe…..maybe…..these, in the night drones may just do their thing (via the use of those who resist the facisist) in support of liberty….Now, wouldn’t that be something for the D C Corp….to ponder! Any one ever hear of a sneak apeak? Oh that’s a race horse some years back…..good idea though, huh

      • Naw. This kid was not trying to show people how to do assignations via drone. This was the slightly older version of the kid putting the fire cracker under the tin can. No one hurt, no intended to be hurt, American “i bet I can do that and make that work” way of thinking that made America grow as it did. As for being arrested for an outstanding warrant, agree this was for posting that video. Probably for an unpaid traffic fine. As it is absolutely provable that any traffic fine other to Commercial vehicles, is armed robbery punishable under the RECO Statures, it would be an illegal warrant. As for resisting arrest, that is defined by the Corporate Enforcers as doing anything other dropping your pants, bending over and bleating in fear the moment they storm into an area. Control Freak is a sickness, they gravitate to government employ. Remember the old SouthWest Airlines commercial, “You are now free to move around the country”. Have not seen that one lately have you? Something about having some federal perverted goon feeling up your wife and three year old daughter or son just does not seem to fit with that phrase does it? ” Go a head and do it, it’s a free country”. When is the last time you heard someone say that? I’ll bet it was before 911 or the person making the statement was an American sheeple. I do not blame the evil minions for being evil minions, I blame the American sheeple for allowing this. If there were no evil in the world, there would be no spiritual growth. There is no growth with out pain, physical, emotional, mental, there must be pain for growth. Evil provides the pain for the growth very often. When one has faith that the Creator has a plan, one in faith must except that plan. We each individually are in this life to give our souls a chance to be tested against evil. It is an individual struggle making all the gold, silver, fame, luxury, perceived power worthless in comparison to the soul achieving the lessons of light and rejecting the lures of darkness. I today, try very hard to not interrupt other peoples test of life. If the Creator wants this going on, who am i to question the wisdom of the Creator? Who am i to try to change the will of the Creator. Party on Sheeple. My journey is a personal-spiritual one. What the Master wants, will be.

  4. what was the “outstanding arrest warrant” in the first place? What was the warrant issued for? If it had nothing to do with the drone.

  5. If he needs a hideout, i’ll offer my howse, but he’s gotta build me one `athem shootin things!

  6. Well, the guy was a flaming idiot for posting the video – so I don’t feel a whole lot of sympathy for him, and actually feel pretty annoyed at his stupidity because the anti-gunners will use it as “yet another reason” to disarm people. I can’t imagine what feeble signals were sparking through his head to make him think it was a good idea to show the psychos in gubmint that a techno pleb with a couple grand could do a little “drone warfare” on his own … hmmm – maybe they’re worried it will punch a hole in the myth of terrorism. The only people that are probably MORE stupid than Haughwout would be the commenters on YouTube who were so “shocked” and “terrified.” Really? What mushroom doesn’t know that the government and police departments have much worse tech already flying? A .22WMR drone doesn’t hold a candle to a shotgun or machine-gun toting drone …. or a Hellfire fired from 5 miles away.

  7. A crime requires an injured party. the code enforcers who stole this young man’s prototype invention are the criminals, they took his possession out of the common law jurisdiction (which is recognized by the red white & blue flag) & placed it under a military court of Admiralty where judge is captain & he profits from every case he wins for the 1933 bankruptcy trust put in place when puppet FDR declared a state of emergency
The court hangs a flag with 4 colors a military flag declaring under international jurisdiction of the sea

The code enforcer is enforcing martial law statutes that serve the bankers who charge interest on every NOTE they print…
US has been under military rule & martial law since 1861 & BAR stands for British accreditation registry serving the Vatican
