Obama ”Tired” Of Giving Gun Speeches, Hits The Links At Cali Golf Course – During Drought

By Brandon Turbeville

As Charlestonians continue to deal with the tragic murder of nine innocent people, Americans stand at the precipice of crushing austerity and economic collapse, and the US military continues to fight wars raging overseas, Obama is now doing what any bold and courageous leader in his situation would do – he is taking vacation.

Shortly after giving a rousing (albeit wholly unconvincing) speech about how guns and their availability are the cause of mass shootings (as opposed to American police who have killed more Americans in 2014 than all mass shootings in American history combined or US intelligence agencies via false flag operations), Obama took off to the Coachella Valley in California to enjoy some of the most pristine golf courses available to the US ruling class – in the midst of a terrifying and massive drought no less!

In response to the drought, California Governor Jerry Brown has called for a 25% reduction in the use of potable water. In Coachella specifically, the area was called on to reduce water usage by 36% due to its higher per capita use of water resources. But this is no matter for the US President or water authorities. When the public face of the US oligarchy wants to play golf, the public face of the US oligarchy plays golf.

Apparently, Obama was so exhausted from his brief stint pretending to act as President that he needed yet another vacation to buttress his time at work.

Of course, taking as many vacation days as one has worked may be a foreign concept to the average American who is lucky to receive any paid vacation at all, but the American working (and not working) class cannot be expected to live the life of leisure carefully prepared for “special” people and “brilliant” minds like those of Corporate heads, bankers, and government officials.

With Obama’s new vacation, it appears that his recent statement that he was “tired of giving these types of speeches” after the Charleston Church shooting was more literal than Americans may have guessed.

While Obama and his Royal (*ahem) Presidential family’s vacations are nowhere near the most concerning issue facing America today, it is worth pointing out what the real significance of these public vacations and displays of unrestrained shopping sprees and events might be. Namely, that two classes of people that have existed since the beginning of the country – the rich and the poor – are now becoming more pronounced.

With the middle class in America almost completely eliminated, the ranks of the poor and the working poor are swelling while the ranks of the oligarchical and aristocratic class become more and more opulent. Unfortunately, Americans have had plenty of Hollywood propaganda that prevents them from becoming insulted or angry at the ruling class enjoying piles of food at beautifully decorated dinner tables while they are scraping crumbs from a plastic saucer.

Instead, Americans have been successfully trained to admire wealth and opulence. Despite the fact that they are poor, they have been trained to despise their own classes. The middle classes that do currently remain are quite content to enjoy the financial benefit over the poor for so long as it lasts. After all, they might not be rich, but at least they are not poor and everyone needs someone to look down on.

When jealousy does erupt, it is not at the ruling class in million dollar town houses, it is at those who dwell in housing projects and trailer parks. Anger at welfare programs aimed at the poor far outstretch anger at welfare programs aimed at government officials, military-industrial complex firms, and banks in American culture.

What little class consciousness that does exist is siphoned off into the false idea that the economic problems facing Americans is merely one of distribution and thus we must be forced to come up with new ways of taking from members of the general public to give to other members of the general public and, if we do this well enough, the problem will be solved. But the crisis is not just one of distribution, it is a matter of production.

The demands for any movement seeking to change the state of affairs in which the overwhelming majority of the American population now finds itself in already exist. All that is necessary is that those willing to take part in a mass strike upsurge grasp the wheel and begin to drive the machine in the right direction.

The promotion of the existence of the American ruling class – now more visible in the minds of the general public than ever – should not be a sign of defeat for those on the bottom rungs of society, it should be a sign of anger. It should be a metaphorical call to arms.

  1. Drought in Cali? I say BS, ” POTUS golfing in Palm Springs, “Coachella Valley” So what. There is no drought in Cali, and if there was lets shut down the bottled water companies that are bottling millions and millions of gallons of water right now in the Morongo Valley, that’s where Palm Springs gets there water from. The only reason they are harping on this so called drought is to drive down property values and force poorer people to leave Cali, then when the population is downsized, POOF, drought over and the rich buy up the property for pennies on the dollar. Don’t fall for this fake drought BS, it’s all a big scam.

  2. When you create the drought you get to play the drought.

  3. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=68we3aP_UNE

Nobody was killed in Charleston, f*n obvious since day 1. Why can’t this web site get it right?

  4. There is along history of President’s relaxing by playing golf after dealing with deadly issues.

In The Brothers (about the Dulles brothers), Eisenhower gives permission for the CIA to assassinate Lumumba, the popular elected nationalist, which of course violates international law, he goes out and golfs.

“We must stop the terrah (terror)! I call upon all nations to do everything they can to stop these terrorist killers.” stated George Bush, and then he said, “NOw watch this swing.”

NIxon had another way of relaxing: he got drunk every night on the Presidential boat on the Potomic, frequently announcing that the US would nuke North Vietnam. Everyone ignored him and by morning it was forgotten about.

Clinton, of course, preferred blow jobs to unwind.

As for Obama being tired of mass shootings, 90% of the public, and 3/4 of gun owners and NRA members support universal background checks, but the Republicans in Congress, bullied by the NRA, refuse to act. I can see why he is tired of giving speeches and nothing happening.

If Presidents did not have a way to relax, they would be maniacs from the pressure of the job. Of course, Obama has been criticized since day one by people who hate the idea of a black President for his vacations (1/3 that of Bush) and his golfing

And let’s not forget Reagan, who, for instance, during the funeral of Egyptian President Sadat, went horseback riding. When two marines were killed and and 14 wounded in Beirut, he did not interrupt his vacation in California.

Chris Wallace reported: ” I was covering Ronald Reagan at that time. He was in Santa Barbara at his ranch when that happened, and quite frankly he didn’t want to leave. And his advisers realized how terrible this looked, and eventually persuaded him he had to fly back to Washington and had to give this speech to the nation, but it did take him four days.”

On the day the military was planning the invasion of Grenada, Reagan remained on vacation at the Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia. There are pictures of him being briefed on the invasion plans in his pajamas, then hitting the links.

In 1984, when 21 people were killed in a a mass murder at McDonald’s in California, Reagan went horseback riding at Camp David. In 86, when Pakistanis stormed an airplane killing 22 people, including 2 Americans, Reagan, on vacation in California, went horseriding.

Let’ sum it up:Reagan took a total of 390 days of vacation; Clinton only took 174 but he had little vacations in the White House with various women, Bush II took 877 days of vacations, including 77 trips to his fake ranch in Texas (that’s about 1 in 3 days), and Obama so far has taken about 40 holidays, and 161 vacation days in his first 6 years. To catch up with Bush, he would have to take the rest of his entire term off!
