Coming soon to a home near you, it’s your very own Hal 9000, er, your “first family robot” JIBO.

Complete with facial and voice recognition software, your new trendy new “smart” robo-servant will be able to participate in you and your children’s lives 24/7/365!

The “world’s best cameraman” can intelligently track the action around him to independently take video and photo, meaning he not only knows exactly what distance you are away at any given second, but whether or not you are feeling the appropriate emotions, I mean, smiling.

Because we don’t have a government that is, on record, spying on us through computers and cell phones with a Pentagon that’s casually discussed hacking into our “smart” devices once everything is hooked up to the Internet of Things and using the technology against us in some sort of ultimate big brother surveillance control grid…

Because we haven’t watched a thousand movies where a “race” of robots wielding artificial intelligence far superior to that of our puny brains becomes self-aware and rises up in a cybernetic revolt against humanity to try and destroy us all…

But hey…it’s trendy.

I mean, really. Whose brilliant idea was it that we create something that’s smarter than we are, but we subsequently also enslave it…? Hello.
