Only 10% of Americans Have Confidence in Congress

Activist Post

As scandal after scandal rocks Washington DC, the American people are fed up.  A new Gallup poll reveals the lowest ever confidence rating for Congress, or any institution ever polled by Gallup.

"This is the lowest level of confidence Gallup has found, not only for Congress, but for any institution on record." Gallup writes.

Confidence in Congress fell to just 10%, down from 13% in 2012.

In 2009, in the afterglow of President Obama's historic election, 27% of Democrats had confidence in Congress while only 10% of Republicans did.

There is no longer a significant partisan divide among those polled. In other words, people of all political persuasions now roundly agree, Congress stinks.

Here is a breakdown of overall confidence in institutions:

When it comes to congress, I am 90% confident that they will pass stupid laws, defend corporations, use insider knowledge to "steal" money and shirk their responsibilities.

I'm 100% confident that they will lie, however.

Never in history did a group of people need to be replaced so badly.

If you had a 10% approval rating on your job performance, wouldn't you do something to try and improve it a little?

Can you think of anything Congress is doing to change this opinion? I'll bet you can't!

Congress isn't going to change for the simple reason that what we think doesn't matter. We're not part of the process anymore.

Our votes (the only method we have to change things other than revolution) are meaningless thanks to touch-screen, no-paper record, uncheckable computer voting systems. That plus our ruling class's use of fraud, lies and criminality. We just don't matter. The approval rating could drop to ZERO and nothing will change.

Congress? The executive branch leads and guides the corruption.

For starters, anybody who pays attention to polls is an idiot, and anybody who takes them seriously is an asshole.

Even if you could believe this, the imbeciles who are bitching and belly-aching will continue to vote and reproduce, won't they? Which group is worse?

It is with deep regret that myself and others must admit that James Carville's cheap and sordid comment about trailing a hundred dollar bill in a mobile home park accurately describes the current state of the US congress and most regrettably, it appears the white house as well. Appeals to reason from all quarters from both home and abroad fall on deaf ears as this group of insanely ambitious, ruinously extravagant, and devoid of common sense individuals no longer pay any heed to the wishes of their citizens. Bloody foreign adventures under the most shameless pretexts and thinnest of tissued lies are leading to ever worse disasters.

When I see numbers like this I wonder how long a man like Thomas Paine would have waited to write "Common sense?" How long would Thomas Jefferson stand idly by watching these transgressions affect his fellow countrymen? Do we have to wait for the shot heard round the world to challenge the callous, wretches in Washington DC? Do we have to wait for the Stasi to knock down our doors like they did in Boston before we realize that it is not Terrorists they are after, but in fact, our Liberties? The plutocrats who influence our corrupted statesmen with their dangling dollar bills, black mail and hush money dare to impose on the most heavily armed and educated citizenry in the world? I for one am not afraid. I will not buy into their culture of fear. It is they who should be afraid. They have everything to lose, their wealth, and their status. I have seen brave men die for Israels wars, corporate wars, wars that did not benefit the average American. But this....this is something I would die for. This is a meaningful war, and make no mistake about it, there is a war. A war on the middle class, on our Liberites, on the American dream and our culture. There is a war being waged on our future generations, using usury and trillion dollar debts that are impossible to repay. Our way of life is facing extinction. Our leader have sold us out to the most evil, Satanic forces imaginable. When you back an American into a corner, they will fight to the death. Our Constitutional Republic is on its knees, breathing its last dying breath. If this was worth fighting for over 237 years ago, then its worth fighting for today. I urge every American to defend him or herself. Do not go quietly. Protect you neighbors and you neighbors neighbors. Go kicking and screaming. Eventually good always defeats evil.

Way to lay to out Anonymous. Oh my Brothers and Sisters read and heed, then ACT. All that is happening is the plan of the 1%. It will continue this way until the PEOPLE put a stop to it. The last nail is being pounded into our coffins at this moment. In truth Coach B

WOW! This statement pretty much covers everything that is going down. Everything in a nutshell. This IS the message people need to understand, embrace and own, but people are so slow to accept this fact non-conspiracy based reality.
Amazing, Thanks Anonymous 9:22.

Not to put too fine a point on it, but the Gallup website shows Congressional approval at 17%, not 10%, thought that is still pathetically low. http://www.gallup.com/poll/163964/congress-approval-rating-remains-near-historical-lows.aspx

question: if the poll is true ie such a low approval rating, then why do We The People seem to keep re-electing them? Einstein said something similar....If you keep doing the same thing over and over and expect a different result you are an idiot!
