FBI Calls Destruction of GMO Sugar Beets in Oregon 'Economic Sabotage'

In a breaking development, the FBI confirms that 1,500 GM Sugar Beet plants were destroyed this month in Oregon, in what they are calling an act of "Economic Sabotage."

When GM pollen blows into a non-GM farmer's fields and irreversibly contaminates his crop with 'biopollution,' who does the law side with? Historically, Monsanto. Also, it's not called 'economic sabotage' but rather 'copyright infringement,' and the victim not the aggressor is threatened with economic ruin.

When Monsanto's unapproved and therefore illegal GM wheat is found years after open field trials growing freely in an Oregon wheat field, the entire state crop's export fate is held in limbo, jeopardizing the present and future living of thousands of farmers and their dependents, with Monsanto receiving little more than a reprimand, followed by rapid USDA assurance that despite a lack of approval their GM wheat is "safe."

Given the unfair rules of the game, no wonder some folks in Oregon, having been treated much like feudal peasants, are taking things into their own pitchfork-bearing hands.

So, when the FBI investigates the destruction of genetically modified sugar beets from two fields in Southern Oregon's Jackson County this month, the act is immediately labeled "economic sabotage," presumably against the multinational corporation who owned the plants.

How fitting an FBI description, considering that Monsanto already planted these 'evil seeds' of doubt by suggesting their unapproved GM wheat in Oregon was a result of sabotage, and not negligence on their part.

According to the Spokesman Review, "The agency [FBI] said in a statement Thursday that about 1,000 sugar beet plants were destroyed on June 8, and more than 5,000 plants were destroyed on a different plot three nights later."

The article went on to explain that the plants were owned by the Swiss-based biotech company Sygenta, and that the FBI spokewoman, Beth Anne Steele, would not comment on the manner in which the crops were destroyed "...because we don't want to encourage copycats."

When multinational corporations like Monsanto have already succeeded in genetically modifying the political system, splicing in their ex-executives and lawyers into positions of great power within the government [see image above], how can folks rely on these Monsanto, Dow and Sygenta-influenced regulatory agencies, and the enforcement arms within their control, to make decisions in the interest of their health or basic civil rights?

Some resort to pulling up, burning and otherwise destroying the plants themselves. Are they terrorists or freedom fighters? And if you answer affirmatively to the latter definition, will you yourself be defined as an "economic saboteur," or terrorist?

What ticks me off is I live in Southern Oregon and listen to the news every day....this is the first I'm hearing of this.
If anything should be called an act of Eco-Sabatoge it's the planting of that wheat.
Gonna have to look into this

Excellent strategy. Hope to see many more toxic crops destroyed in the future.

Go Humanity!!

Yes!!! Destroy the crops and kick Monsanto out! If the government refuses to listen, as these crops destroy people's health, lives and the environment, then people will have to take action themselves.

These GMO crops are poison. I call the crop destroyers freedom fighters.

The guy whose field in Jackson Country was allegedly vandalized has an astroturf group called something like Farmer's Freedom to Farm. In other words, there is the distinct possibility that he vandalized his own field as a public relations stunt.

The field didn't look very well kept. Most of the trial fields are carefully measured off so they can measure inputs and outputs. This didn't look anything like that, and the guy admits to having an agenda.

We have to give the credit to the Hungarian government who openly burned Monsanto crops. It would seem that pretty much everyone is seeing that the only way to save their lives and livelihood is to burn everything. The FDA is so corrupt there is no point in trying to talk sense to them...it's like trying to talk to Monsanto. No, actually, it is talking to Monsanto directly...

Stop kidding yourself . These people [Monsanto] are bastards of the highest order . They own your government and the corrupt politicians that infest it . Get real. the only way to deal with these pricks is to burn them out and you can bet that your Fascist government will turn their freedom loving cops and militia on you in an orgy of violence and hate . And if you have not been witnessing the cop violence on your streets then look at the violence inflicted on people in other countries by their cops and they all got that one thing in common they are all tainted by the US / Israel / UK Axis . So by all means deal with Monsanto But for F**ks sake sort your evil governments out . I repeat . Stop kidding yourselves !!!

If only the FBI could call what Wall Street has done economic or financial sabotage, I could be inclined to give them some consideration.

FBI shot unarmed Ibragim Todashev in the head without due process nor trial after questioning on his political views. The FBI are terrorists. Also fuck you Monsanto. When the Republic is restored the hanging will begin.

To answer your last question Sayer Ji, yes, I reckon so.

The truth is Monsanto has been allowed to bully and abuse good honest farmers the world over for far too long, and it's time that we all stand with these people growing OUR food!

This planet belongs to THE PEOPLE, not to Monsanto.

People of earth, prepare your fire & pitchforks! Monsanto does not own you and it does not own OUR EARTH!

If we don't take a stand against Monsanto and other bio companies they will merry on go and destroy the planet with GMO's. We have to take back our power by growing our own food, demand labelling, destroy GMO crops...

we have a prime piece of land here in our 50 united states, there are many country's that will quickly move in and take over if we were to cause an uprising and destroy our own government. you can't just lop off the heads of the leaders you don't like you have to get the entire mass of people "U.S. citizens" informed ACCURATELY then apply peaceful pressure and move them the way we "as a collective" want our country. think about this when pulling a truck out of the mud it is best to apply steady pressure and ease it out if you try to jerk it out! all you accomplish is breaking parts off your good vehicle that was only stuck. think about that please don't heckle my example think about what i'm saying. is there a place on where we can all meet and discuss these situations? a web site? something that is not seen as anti American i love our country! there are just some things we need to repair! together we can do great things!!! look what we have already...

Monsanto makes Frankenfoods that will sicken the people. They do not allow their own foods in their cafeteria. Any Questions?
