Because The Other Massive Databases Are Not Enough

It has officially become mainstream information that if you are a non-violent lover of liberty you are the embodiment of domestic terror in the United States. Add this to the 25 reports that can put you on a terror watch list for innocuous activities such as being a martial artist, or using cash for anything at all, and that is a LOT of information that needs to be warehoused and analyzed.

The Big Government of the former republic known as the United States has embarked upon just such an initiative called Big Data, a program under the direction of John P. Holdren, Obama’s science czar, and author of the controversial eugenics tome, Ecoscience.

The amount of data being amassed about the lives of ordinary citizens terrorists is growing exponentially. We have seen major corporations in the areas of advertising, social media, defense contracting, and computing form partnerships with government agencies to compile virtual dossiers on all humans. Apparently much more still needs to be done . . .

The databasing of all activities, even in real time, is an openly stated goal by new projects such as the NSA’s new $2 billion dollar installation in Bluffdale, Utah, as well as the many threat fusion centers that operate in conjunction with local law enforcement, private partnerships and on many university campuses. Combine this with the increasing encouragement of a snitch culture and we find ourselves beyond the slippery slope to tyranny and straight into free-fall speed.

In the wake of new gun control measures at the national and international level, as well as the federal government’s growing fear of its own “sovereign” citizens, it appears that the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) would like to assist the current authoritarian regime in extracting and databasing the complete personal information about those seeking guns, as well as anyone within the extended web of those individuals . . . which some might rightly call daily living.

The ATF has put out a competitive solicitation with “small business size standard of $6.50 million” for businesses that can provide a wide range of surveillance and database tech.

As highlighted by CNSNews, nearly everyone seems susceptible under a widened process of background checks, even if you never in your life have contemplated owning a firearm or committing any sort of federal offense:

The document says that the system will be utilized by staff “to provide rapid searches on various entities for example; names, telephone numbers, utility data and reverse phone look-ups, as a means to assist with investigations, and background research on people, assets and businesses.”

The system is described as a “massive online data repository system that contains a wide variety of data sources both historically and current that can be utilized in support of investigations and backgrounds.”

From an overview of the solicitation, which can be found in full here:

The system “provides a means to rapidly check records across the country” and is “necessary in assisting investigators, agents and analyst to find people, their assets, relatives, associates and more.”

The ATF says they will use this system to provide information to Intelligence Analysts, Special Agents, Inspectors, Financial Investigators and Law Enforcement.

The system will also have the ability to “link structured and unstructured data to find connection points between two or more individuals.” [emphasis added] (Source)

It remains to be seen how civil liberties can be protected when just about anyone can fall under suspicion or investigation as very loose connections are to be considered legitimate for the full spectrum of government and intelligence agencies to analyze and store. It certainly hasn’t been much of a consideration thus far.

The open tyranny that has been full throttle in America since 9/11 is now using every tool of propaganda and fiat law to implement its permanence. Through Suspicious Activity Reports from all sectors, the directive to enlist citizen spies, the demonization of those who value independence, and the move toward Big Data, we are witnessing the endgame of an integrated system of total control. This is the biggest threat of terror to the lives of law-abiding citizens residing on American soil.
