Freedom of the press cannot be prosecuted. Any information that you see on the internet should always be verified for accuracy.

freedom of the press does not include out and out lies or making things up or printing stuff like he said she said before checking the facts.

ive seen fb posts which claimed the shooter killed his mother, father, and siblings before going to the school to kill the children in his mothers class.

how is any of this helpful? its not

Hey cop...I doubt your version of the story, there had to be multiple shooters and was probably a false flag event pulled off by this criminal regime. I call bullshit on your story. So, come get me clown...

regardless if the information is "misinformation", they can not prosecute due to 1st amendment rights. Sorry Feds.

Of course, they will always drum up some bogus charge like menacing, public disturbance, etc.

Freedom of the press can not be prosecuted? It sure can be prosecuted if it is found to be slander (IE.. False information that ends up harming someone or an investigation)

Posts filled with BS are not helpful. But the right for people to tell the truth is the important part of what we are trying to preserve.
Idiots could spew lies in the town square 300 years ago, and idiots could own newspapers, radio, and eventually idiots go to go on TV to tell lies. Most idiots were employed by corporate swine to lie and misdirect in order to prevent people from getting informed.

The internet gives a chance for truth to break through the lies of CNN etc. People need to take responsibility for discerning truth from BS. The internet gives both......TV and mass media only give the BS, no truth.
Surely you can understand that????

Constitution, what constitution? U.S.A land of the free, full of sheeps.

misinformation.... wasn't it the state police who told media sources the wrong name of the shooter, leaving his brother to clear his name along with coping with the death of his mother and brother....
the police state needs to stop using this tragedy to promote censorship and gun control. Sadly "never let a good crisis go to waste" right?
what future do the survivors have if they cannot speak their mind and tell their story, even if conflicts with the "official" story. like 2 shooters turned to one, just like CO shooting.....

They're really going to charge people with rumors and hearsay?

Really?

In fascist, police state (NAZI) America, maybe.

What a joke!

I noticed he said "this is the latest twist"...that sound like a lie.

The KEY word here is AUTHORITY!

We are all under the control of an AUTHORITY!

Have a nice day!

We used to call these guys pigs in my day. You'll note the resemblance still applies. Course back then we still had freedom of speech.

Their own police scanner recordings show them to be liars, not to mention the videos of the helicopter showing the arrest in the woods. Then there's the little kids being interviewed who talks about the guy being held on the ground outside the school. Far too many inconsistencies for their version to be entirely legit. Sorry guys. Someone is lying here!!

There is so much information in this case that can be verified independently, that goes against the "single-shooter theory". Be sure you search for it and educate yourself.

Doesn't it seem odd that the police chief stays that only his version is correct? That nothing else can be true? WHY is this so important? Why can't the eyewitnesses and audio tapes and videotape from the helicopter be introduced as evidence? Ask your local news station to investigate and report on these other sources!

Mske copies of these statements so that the Lies by the Police can be given the same scrutiny. TO include LIES BY OMISSION, or LIES that change the story without Verification.
The CT Cops have4 done such a poor job investigating this tragedy and been so lame in giving out VERIFIABLE information that they are at more risk than anyone else.
OH the Tangled Web we Weave when first we practice to deceive.

Freedom of the press doesn't include purposely lying... the difference between a person spreading false information that they BELIEVE to be true and persons spreading information they KNOW to be false are two very different things. I can forgive someone for giving me the wrong information that they believed to be true. They were only going on the information they had and didn't realize it was wrong. It is the people who purposely and knowingly spread false information that I demand to be stopped and punished. There are many many well-intentioned good people unknowingly spreading false information because they were convinced it was correct by the "experts", the media, etc But those who put out that false information often are found to be lying, those at the very top who trick the public on a regular basis in order to direct society to their whims. Those liars need to be punished, their lies are causing immense harm to people in various ways (health, education, politics, economics, etc) and the public doesn't realize it.

After watching this clip, I felt a strong urge to telephone this officer and give him a piece of my mind. I called the CT State Police and was put on hold for 5 minutes, then Lt. Vance came on line. I told him that I read this article and asked for him to clarify his statements, saying that I obviously had 1st Amendment concerns. Lt. Vance responded by saying, "We're still in the United States of America, sir, and we're hear to protect your rights."

We have no obligation to subjugate ourselves to illegal laws. The legislators, aka the biggest criminals now pass laws to protect themselves and criminalize us. Americans must rise to their Consitutional civic duty, their American exceptionalism and when necessary, remember Thomas Jefferson's advice: "When injustice becomes law, rebellion becomes duty." Americans now face the same (and worse) tyranny as did the founders and the revolutionaries. HOW DARE this puke seek to shut valid questions down and THREATEN? This is abuse of authority and he needs to be given a lesson in what the power pyramid of this Republic mandates. WE the people are the sovereigns. He is a public SERVANT. He answers to us. He does not strongarm us like the Nazi Stormtroopers, blackmailing and threatening us out of our rights. Mr. Policeman. Read up on the Nuremburg trials. "Following orders" is no defense. And DO NOT expect free Americans to buckle under your threats. We already know you are not interested in divulging truth. You better know we are not interested in being forced fed your fairy tales.

This is what the renegade regime and their lackey press doesn't want you to know: http://www.thedailydigest.org/?p=1090

You are all missing the point. First of all, this site cut out a significant portion of his statement. Secondly, he is talking about people who are willfully posting incorrect and uncorroborated information, which can and has led to threats being made on people who are innocent of any crime and people's reputations being unfairly smeared. No one is saying you can't question their version of the story...just don't post things as fact if they are not proven to be so. Think before you act!

One other thing...the worst offenders are the media...news outlets which are so determined to be first that they often are inaccurate. Their motto seems to be 'get it first, we'll get it right later.'
