Keith Kloor, writing at Slate, jumped in to try to stop the tidal wave of negative publicity about Monsanto set off by major study in France by Dr. Gilles-Eric Seralini, proving Monsanto's corn causes cancers and rapid death. But Kloor made things 1000 times worse.
In his article, "GMO Opponents Are the Climate Skeptics of the Left," Kloor goes through all kinds of breathtaking, logic-defying contortions to try to convince the left, somehow, that GMO-opponents aren't . . . themselves.
Doesn't he know the whole left detests Monsanto and what they are doing to corrupt food and democracies around the world, and there is no division about it? While he made a stab at creating a internecine battle between left and left, it was a hopeless (albeit perhaps very well-paid) task.
And the reality is there is not only unity between lefties about Monsanto. The entire left abhors Monsanto. But the right does, too, including climate skeptics. Also the middle detests them. Also, non-political people. Also anarchists. Also militias. Also sewing circles. Even family pets can't stand them. Monsanto has been a gift to everyone in that way, bringing the whole country together as one big ticked off family.
Kloor failed in his impossible effort to divide the undividable. But he came up a winner with his subtitle, which gives Monsanto a fabulous food slogan.
Don’t worry. Genetically modified corn isn’t going to give you cancer.
Kloor may not be very savvy politically but he is a PR whiz. "Monsanto's GM-corn doesn't cause cancer!" is even catchier than "pink slime," which has caught hold like glue with the public.
It's a great slogan and Monsanto could even put the images of the rats in Seralini's study on packages containing their GM-corn and say "See, no cancer!"
Or maybe Monsanto might prefer a more general slogan "Buy our food, it won't kill you!" and apply it to all their products. Then they could use the rats' photos and to proclaim, "See, they're not dead!"People would be rushing out for Monsanto's GM-corn, GM-soy, GM-canola, GM-sugar, GM-high-fructose-GM-corn-syrup, GM-papaya, GM-crook-neck squash, GM-Nutrasweet, GM-Equal, etc.
In his article, Kloor tore into Professor Seralini, but didn't bother to mention that Professor Seralini had already had to go to court to stop defamation, and he won. That being the case, Kloor might like to go after other scientists who are also saying there are dire consequences to GMOs.
The latest warnings are about GM-wheat which is proving itself as much of a winner as GM-corn. Parents who eat GM-wheat could have children who die from it by the age of five. Perhaps Kloor's slogan for GM wheat could be "GM-wheat doesn't kill your children!"
But that's jumping ahead. One catchy phrase at a time.
Thanks to Keith Kloor, left and right have been brought together; and Monsanto now has an unforgettable advertising slogan.

This reminds so many of the vaccine debates, where the CDC for years denied, a causal linke between vaccines and autism and a rash of autoimmune diseases, allergies, etc.
Now the CDC fights to keep internal documents secret (they're presently battling a FOIA request) which reveal all that the skeptics have suspected all along as being true.
GM-corn, GM-soy, GM-canola, GM-sugar, GM-high-fructose-GM-corn-syrup, GM-papaya, GM-crook-neck squash, GM-Nutrasweet, GM-Equal,
there they are.... why we're sick, and why obama care and michelle's school lunch both are side-sho failures. bt cuts right through their bs and now the truth is spreading word of mouth like wild fire.
My new slogan is.
"Monsanto can't stop word of mouth"
Bend over and spread em; here comes my GMO.
Actually, the right are against it also. Thanks for the false divide.
There are a few corporatists who cheer on monsanto's business model but then there are a few bleeding hearts who by into the belief that GMO have higher yields and survive better in different climates (they don't on both counts)
The VAST MAJORITY of the population regardless of how others may judge their leanings agree that GMO is dangerous-but only after they find out WHAT GMO is, as opposed to how it is being presented: as no different than hybridized foods.
Now that we have the momentum to crush TPTB's GMO agenda, we must stop efforts to introduce GM alfalfa before widespread cross contamination can take place.
Mitt Romney formed an Agricultural Advisory Committee in March stacked with Monsanto people and at least three food industry insiders who support efforts to approve GM alfalfa. Romney has deep ties to Monsanto starting when he was a young lawyer helping Monsanto clean up its image after the bad press and lawsuits from Agent Orange and PCBs. It was Monsanto's CEO at the time that lent/invested money to start up Bain Capital. Of course, the Obama administration is just as closely tied to Monsanto.

As someone who has seen the effects of GMO products and their effects, their slogan will not save them at this point. Their buying of polieticans and even their infiltration of the US government will not save them. The truth on this crap, and I am being nice is undefendable at this point. All they will accomplish with more lies is the consolidation of all who despise them. These people have fact on their side, and all Monsucko has is more slander an lies. I shall enjoy watching this all fall apart, which will only intensify if the GMO labeling campaign fails, which should not happen. If peaceful revolution fails, the the inevitable happens. Why do you think those hackers released all the information, including the home addresses of Monsantos employees. They may have some move, but plenty of them are still where the information lists them. As stated in this article, only fools are left championing the GM poison, and all the money in the world cannot prevent Monsantos end of days. America has spoken as has the rest of the world and Monsanto would be wise to take notice.
I think a suitable punishment for the people who proliferate foods of population decimation would be three meals a day of GMO foods which have been proven to cause cancer, a weakened immune system, and eventual sterility in males.
The depopulation agenda is why Monsanto or Dow even exists. Dioxin was illegally sprayed as agent orange all over Vietnam. It is one of the most deadly toxins known to man. Now after 3 generations, birth defects are still effecting families who came in contact with it 40 years ago. GMO's are a militarized version of slow kill and the Zionist globalists back it 110%. They have known all along what glyphosate can do to Humans. I'm surprised the Nazi scientist who figured out how to mix glyphosate with corn DNA didn't get the Nobel peace prize.
Eat GM food; it's good for Monsanto and OK for you.
A pun on the famous 'recycled food' line from the movie Judge Dredd.
why do you think there is a seed storage vault in the higher latitudes? monsanto is what will bring about massive depopulation within 40000 days
@STEADCORE. What are you talking about? Monsanto is a Jewish company. Not a 'Nazi' company. Why call just anyone who does bad things 'Nazi'. Call them what they are. You know you have an 'approved' soft target when you call someone a Nazi, but is that fair? And does it point the finger in the right direction? Try calling Monsanto Jewish, or Communist Bolshevik, because that is what they are in effect, the real exterminators, fulfilling the ancient edicts of the Talmud and Torah.
And Ashkenazim are real Jews after all, not fake Jews or proselytes from gentiles who came to live in Germany or whatever, they are Jews, as proven by the New York Times article 'Studies Show Jews’ Genetic Similarity' by Nicholas Wade June 9th. 2010, so even stating that Monsanto is owned by Ashkenazim would not make them German or Nazis either.
Great slogan! Those of us who are aware must try hard to wake up those who aren't. Anyway I hope they put their new slogan on all the foods containing their nasty product. U gotta admit it's a corker. GMO won't give u cancer. Boy I hope they paid the guy who came up with that one a big bonus - like a lifetime supply of gmo crud!
Avoid using chemical spray fresheners. Open the windows if possible to air out the home. Place shallow dishes of vinegar in the kitchen to soak up cooking odors. Sprinkle baking soda in trash cans and on carpet to absorb unpleasant smells. Thanks a lot.
