"Text-a-Tip" Snitch Program Invades Small-Town America

In yet another example of the Big Brother-style snitch culture being fostered and implemented all across the country, the city of Marion, South Carolina, is now demonstrating how the oppressive surveillance state is no longer limited to large metropolitan areas and bigger cities already conditioned to living under the watchful eye of government. Now, even small towns such as Marion, with a population of 6,939 people, are getting in on the act.

According to WMBF News, the Marion Police Department is launching a new program that allows citizens to report “crimes” via text message.

The Department’s new “Text-a-Tip” program is scheduled to be operational by the end of September of this year. Much like the now infamous “See Something, Say Something” program being implemented by DHS in Wal-Marts, Hotels, and other available television screens, the MPD is encouraging everyone to text message (843) 430-0938 if they see a crime in progress or even so much as what they deem to be “suspicious activity.”

Unfortunately, one can assume that gangs of police preying upon the already economically destitute citizens of Marion day in and day out does not constitute reportable suspicious activity. After all, such has been the case in Marion for some time, as any unfortunate driver will easily attest to.

In regards to the launch of “Text-a-Tip,” Marion Mayor Rodney Berry stated, “This is just another option for citizens in our combined efforts to stop crime in the City of Marion. Together we can work to make Marion safer and to make a difference in our communities.”

Regrettably, Mayor Berry’s and the Marion Police Department’s plan will do virtually nothing to keep Marion safer. However, it will undoubtedly increase the number of snitching incidents resulting from vengeful individuals looking for quick returns on their or anger, or from otherwise nosy and frightful citizens whose paranoia is only increased by the incessant replays of police dramas and terror warnings paraded in front of them on television every single night.

“Text-a-Tip” is yet another technological program, much like the recently introduced CrimePush and PatriotApp smartphone programs aimed at providing the general public with all the tools necessary to
enslave themselves and their fellow citizens.

The Text-a-tip program is by no means unique to Marion, South Carolina, however. The fact is that low-tech programs of this type are becoming common place in cities large and small all across the country.

For instance, the cities of Springfield Massachussetts, Evanston, Illinois, and Boston have all implemented Text-a-Tip.

Even college campuses like the University of Southern California have introduced the program as well as High Schools such as Pottsgrove High in Pennsylvania.

In the end, “Text-a-Tip” is just one more snitch program to enable police to spy on the population they have sworn to protect, and justify even more confrontations with individuals they would otherwise have no authority to harass. Undoubtedly, this program will be used by a domesticated and terrorized citizenry to rat on their neighbors in yet one more embarrassing display of just how far the American people have fallen.

If you would like to contact the Marion Police Department and/or Marion Mayor Rodney Berry and express your dissatisfaction at the rollout of this new program, you can contact them using the following information:

You have to turn the tables on those who think up this crap, it happen on U.S. Naval Ships in the late 60's & it back fired big time, the brass that thought up the scheeme ended up losing more than their command, they lost their carreers in the military. What comes around goes aeound, so if you think you are helping to stop crime for some G Man, all you are doing is screwing yourself & the people who will have to live with & trans act with every day & if they know you would turn them in for watering your lawn or feeding farm aminals to kill for food & it gets really bad which it will, you will be on the do not get a damn piece of meat list!

There was many who went with out shit paper for weeks out at sea even though there was plenty, so you see a snitch that snitches for some crap face G Man is as low as it gets. The fakje war on terror came from our own gov, straight from the ESF, just like the war on drugs, the cash cow that keeps on giving, to the share holders of CCA who Al Gore has his hand in to pass 3 strikes & your out & in CCA's beds that boost profits for the shareholders, now the US houses more people for somking pot than any other nation, thank Al & Bubby for making people rich off the common folks who got 20 yrs in a CCA bed for smoking pot!

Now to the wide spread nerve of a bunch of thieves who get elected by buying votes & taking bribes from big corps, your time is coming, because aas soon as the elites are finished with them they will find they are no longer welcome at home as their butts are now exposed to all the bad regs & laws they voted for for with out reading the bills.

As the USA remains under attck from within, you will learn only those cdommiting crimes will need to be delt with & so far that has not happen, all the crooks remain free to continue to highjack our freedoms for thier own gain, when you give up what made this Republic the place where all people wanted to come to you have lost what this Republic is all about & are no better than what Hitler did & he did the same thing our gov is doing, highjacking science & tech for the use to turn all on each other! So don't play their game, take care of crooks & theives in the way it is suppose to be done, no mercy unless they can prove that they are trying to feed their family, but still they will have to be a part of the soultion, not the problem our people in gov created going back to 1913! And all you G men, get a life, because the masters you serve now will dump you like a bag of rocks as soon as they are done with you!

Neighbor against neighbor. This is the beginning of the slow process of getting people used to hating each other more.
Separate them and they fall.

The kids are their main target. The kids will be taught in schools to spy out anyone that doesn't go along with the program. They'll report on their own parents, just like in the Soviet Union. Be forewarned, the great social earthquake is coming. The American people will survive, but only after going thru hell. Way to go.

Yes & no, like minded people who will step to expain in a way that all undersand that pushing violence againt each other will only make those two disapear from killing each other, but sound thinking from a person each group put forth as one to put aside all differences for all to survive, if no one steps up there goes a shit load of the population & the central planners love it! DON'T FALL THAT CRAPOA TRAP, THAT'S WHAT WANT.

That's just a tool for hardcore intelligent criminals. They'll be texting in fake tips from different phones reporting on the same bogus crime, just so they can get away with something on the other side of town. So many many different things having the cops tide up on the other side of town would be good for.

since giving a false report is illegal in most states, I doubt made up stuff is going to happen often for long. Why any decent person with an ounce of common sense would object to this app is beyond me. You worried you might get caught when shoplifting or beating someone up? or breaking into a car? Next time you get help out of the blue because someone texted that they saw someone holding you up or breaking into your house, while you are asleep, thank that app.

Christine is now on the no meat list. Your naivete is almost cute......"since giving a false report is illegal...", so cute that it made me smile.

The reason decent people oppose it is because of people like you that are self-righteous and believe that they are helping their little"commune". You'll be reporting that this person has food stored because the authorities told you it was bad. You'll be reporting people that have firearms because the authorities told you it is not safe for slaves to be armed. Don't worry about texting to inform the authorities I am being held up, Mr. Ruger will handle that. And if I am home during a break in Mr. Mossberg, Mr. Smith and Mr. Wesson will handle that situation. No I won't need to thank the app since chances are I'll be dead waiting for the police to save me...I'll thank my God given liberties of self defense through the second amendment! Dear Christine, you are part of the problem not the solution.

If I had to text a tip it would be impossible. I have yet to text any one. it is so much easier to dial 911 why would I waste time fumbling with texts? Does it really make it easier to snitch on someone? I doubt it.

Although all tyrannies encourage snitching this can also be seen as a psy-op. Even if we assume the unlikely and nobody snitches, so many people will be deterred from doing the innocent (growing a vegetable patch for example) that the announcement alone can serve a greater purpose, regardless of what follows.
To tackle the low-life who do snitch we can apply a similar psy-op. We could produce bumper stickers with something like 'Snitch on a snitch...Tel. (number)'. Or get a rumour going round the web there is an underground movement organising against snitches. Call it a Rat-line or something. Mick McNulty. England.

Further to my earlier comment, spread rumours on the web that a policeman in a big city has been suspended pending enquiries into allegations he sold confidential data from a snitch-line, or a hacker has gained access to one of these lines and is trying to sell the information...anything that convinces a snitch their anonymity cannot be guaranteed. Mick McNulty. England.

Christine is the new face of america today....at
least until someone snitches to the "authorities"
about something she does. Experience is indeed
a hard teacher.

For around $20.00, you can buy a "pay as you go" cell phone capable of texting. You don't have to provide an accurate name or address when purchasing one of these. Use your imagination. For about the same price, you can get a Magic Jack. Plug it into your wifi-enabled laptop, find a hot spot or crack some poorly protected wifi system. Use your imagination. Make up fake Google accounts. Sign up for free Google Voice. Use your imagination. Go to your favorite search engine. Search for "send free sms messages". Use your imagination. Remember, the more complicated the machine, the easier it is to break. Everyone in this town should start tipping the police off to the misconduct of public employees, city officials, etc. See a cop speeding? Send a tip. See a cop gold bricking, send a tip. See the firemen chatting up the pretty girls. Send a tip. See the mayor kick a dog? Send a tip.

Christine Erikson (aka Justina, you poor deluded fool. Did you know the police you are familiar with are a relatively new (in the United States) concept? What did people do before there were cops and 911?

I have something that is one digit shorter than 911. Its called .45, and its "send" button is alot faster delivering a message than some cell phone.

I saw a HUGE crime which someone should report. Monsanto has made a poison which the FDA is forcing into the supermarkets anonymously. This is murder, and since by threats of sanctions, the American/Monsanto government is forcing this poison into other countries, it has become an act of genocide, an act of war.

Someone should report this to the police! I'm sure the American/Monsanto government will want to know all about it.
