Imagine that you take a common potato; healthy food and full of energy vitamins and minerals and you slice it and cook it in a good vegetable oil and now somehow this food is "bad for you". How does that happen. Is it bad to eat oil and fats? Clearly it is not because humans require oils and fats and will die without it. Is the potato a "bad food"? Clearly not it is mostly carbohydrates (an essential and vital nutrient that we cannot live without) and vitamins and minerals. Is it the cooking process?? In fact cooked potatoes are better for you, that is the nutrients become easier to digest, then raw potatoes. So what is it??? Is it even real or true? Is it nothing more then crazy conspiracy theory? I have actually watched a potato being fried in oil and was unable to see anyone sneak in any toxins. So what in the hell is he talking about???
First of all Mercola is a quack. Secondly his statement "Is Glucose Really Your Body’s Preferred Fuel?" implies he either does not understand the human body or is hoping we do not understand the human body. Your body burns glucose. It doesn't burn fat it converts fat and protein to glucose if you aren't getting enough carbs in your diet. So the question is not is glucose your bodies preferred fuel, it would be what is the best way to provide your body with the glucose it needs to fuel it. That question has more then one answer but unless you have a disease or health issue preventing you from eating carbs then carbs is the most logical answer.
"Nutrition lessons anyone?" Take a shot at it if you think you have the inside track. Most nutrition "knowledge" floating around the web is bias and misinformation.

Carbs may not be all they are cracked up to be.
