Empire State Building Shooting Wrongly Hyped as 'Mass Shooting' by Media?

In yet another ‘summer shooting’ involving a killer who is now being referred to by the media as the 'Empire State Building shooter', recently-fired gunman Jeffrey Johnson fired on a co-worker before being gunned down by police outside of the Empire State Building in downtown New York City. A total of 9 bystanders were wounded and sent to a local hospital with expectations of survival, but what was the cause of their injury?

The Empire State Building shooter may have actually had only a single target (according to virtually all the mainstream media sources linked throughout) — a co-worker who was gunned down before the incident leading to the 9 injuries.

This makes the Empire State Building shooter case quite different than the Batman shootings and the Sikh shootings, but it doesn't appear that way in major media.

The bulk of the wounded suspects seem to have resulted from a chaotic incident of police fire intended for Johnson, with potentially all of the injuries reportedly as a result of the police fire. Even Bloomberg admits that Johnson may have not shot any of the bystanders himself:
Investigators were attempting to determine whether Johnson shot anyone beyond his initial target. Some of the surviving victims could have been hit by the two police officers who returned fire, Mayor Michael Bloomberg said.

Major organizations like Reuters are already labeling it a mass shooting comparable to the Batman shooting and the Sikh temple killings, stating:
It was the third mass shooting of the summer in the United States.
Does this make it okay? Certainly not. This is an absolutely tragic event, and Johnson most certainly displayed a mentally unstable and nefarious intent to kill another human being and return fire to police. The key aspect we are examining here is how the media is looking to turn this case into another mass shooting event without actually detailing the facts in the ‘readable’ area of the article. Instead, they stick these key facts far down below the opening paragraph and summary.

What this does is cause hysteria and label it another mass shooting to those who read headlines or the first paragraph summary.

Why is this important? Because Johnson is stated to have used a semi-automatic handgun, which has led anti-gun proponents to immediately begin calling for stricter gun control and regulation.

Considering it’s already illegal to be carrying a semi-automatic weapon in downtown New York City, it’s quite obvious that Johnson really isn’t a law-abiding citizen (these stricter regulations would only affect law-abiding citizens).

This latest ‘mass shooting’ as perpetuated by the mainstream media may be the final straw in terms of gun control and regulation, and we may see many individuals like New York’s Mayor Bloomberg go into overdrive in using this incident as a catalyst to push along the legislation. I would urge you to remember that the main point of this piece is to highlight that the mainstream media will take anything and spin it to not only generate the most response, but to further an agenda.

Sheeple are not allowed to have guns for self protection.
Guns are only for wolfs predators to keep the sheeple safe!

$15 million to every person hit by cop firing negligently without consideration of backstop. Academy training is woefully inadequate and all cops should be disarmed immediately. Handing a gun and asking the average police cadet to act appropriately in stressful situations, especially under fire is straight out asking too much. How many more people will we allow cops to injure, torture and murder before we realize present system is kaput?

You say that Bloomberg will use this as an excuse to ban guns. But you also say, "Even Bloomberg admits that Johnson may have not shot any of the bystanders himself".

So which is it?

My father worked for the post office & let me say that the city & newspapers only report what they want to when its to their best interest. For example, they reported & touted this incident, but failed to report others that deal with disgruntled employees shooting managers & directors. My father told me of numerous " postal" incidents never mentioned in the paper. For example, in one incident a disgruntled worker who worked for the post office for over 20 years and in his 50' was fired to hire a new employee for less money. Everything he ever worked for he lost. His home of 28 years (couldn't pay the mortgage) his wife & kids and even the car & dog. He came at lunchtime & killed several important high-ranking managers & directors. In fact, when a low- level employee was in the line of firing, he told the employee he had nothing against him, but please move so I can hit the bastard whose decision ruined my life & countless others. After the spree, rather than run he waited for the media & police to come naively believing he could tell his story. The media would never even acknowledge this or similar incidences, involving fired workers who believe that if workers attacked high level directors, CEOs, & senators things would change for the working class, because the rich would now have to pay for decisions that hurt the working-class. One reason why the post office stopped firing full-time workers & replacing them with part-time no benefit scabs was due to the heroism of men like these. Unsung heros. Don't let the unions fool you & make you think they were fully responsible for the changes in the post office. Unions are fine, protests are fine, but words alone don't butter the corn. People talk about gun control to avert violence, but fail to realize the everyday violence of the state: for example, you lost your job, run out of money. You have a job interview, but no money to buy a train fare. What do you do jump the turnstile to go to the job interview so you can feed your family and hope you don't get beat up by police & arrested & later fined or do you let your family go hungry because of the injustice of the whole system? See what I mean by violence of the system. Or another example, you've paid off your mortgage or nearly paid it all off & the bank sends sheriff officers still reposseses your home illegally, throw you & your kids out in the streets with no money & no place to go middle of a brutal winter or you go and assert your 1st amendment right to protest & get pepper-sprayed or better yet the government sends in the national guard to break up a strike for better working conditions. These are everyday violent acts that take place everyday. Yet, what does the big corporate media focus on unusual violent incidents by confused individuals who blame their girlfriend, wives, & co-workers for losing their jobs instead of the system that created his unemployment to begin with. Yet, no mention is made about the violence of the state. The true preveyor of violence in the world.

"There is no such thing, at this date of the world's history, in America, as an independent press. You know it and I know it. There is not one of you who dares to write your honest opinions, and if you did, you know beforehand that it will never appear in print. I am paid weekly for keeping my honest opinions out of the paper I am connected with. Others of you are paid similar salaries for similar things, and any of you who would be so foolish as to write honest opinions would be out on the streets looking for another job. If I allowed my honest opinions to appear in one issue of my paper, before twenty-four hours my occupation would be gone. The business of the journalist is to destroy the truth; to lie outright; to pervert; to vilify; to fawn at the feet of Mammon, and to sell his country and his race for his daily bread. You know it and I know it and what folly is this toasting an independent press? We are the tools and vassals for rich men behind the scenes. We are the jumping jacks, they pull the strings and we dance. Our talents, our possibilities and our lives are the property of other men. We are intellectual prostitutes."
- John Swinton, former Chief of Staff of the New York Times, called by his peers "The Dean of his profession", gave this toast before the New York Press Club in 1953

This was no mass shooting but rather 2 rookie cops missing a suspect at almost point blank range & hitting innocent bystanders without a care in the world!
What happened to protecting the public, they could have shot him with a taser knowing that this is not a place for flying bullets. So why isn't the puppet media crying out for police gun control! They have been killing more citizens in recent years than ever before!
GOONBURG wants to blame it on guns & disarm everyone but puppet goons! Sorry but it will never happen!
