A Council on Foreign Relations Love Letter to Al Qaeda

"Al-Qaeda: the best enemy and friend

After Americans have had their Constitution all but eradicated following the damage supposedly done by al-Qaeda on 9/11, a new narrative is being bolstered by globalists and imperialists everywhere that al-Qaeda is our new best friend in Syria.

Ed Husain, Senior Fellow for Middle Eastern Studies at the Council on Foreign Relations think-tank, drips with admiration for the once-labeled extremist killers of all things democratic, holy and good. Husain
writes for CFR.org :
The Syrian rebels would be immeasurably weaker today without al-Qaeda in their ranks. By and large, Free Syrian Army (FSA) battalions are tired, divided, chaotic, and ineffective. Feeling abandoned by the West, rebel forces are increasingly demoralized as they square off with the Assad regime's superior weaponry and professional army. Al-Qaeda fighters, however, may help improve morale. The influx of jihadis brings discipline, religious fervor, battle experience from Iraq, funding from Sunni sympathizers in the Gulf, and most importantly, deadly results. In short, the FSA needs al-Qaeda now.
This morally bankrupt statement, where the enemy of my enemy is my friend even while butchering innocent people, is appalling in the face of documented atrocities and terrorism being committed on the ground by rebel forces. Worse yet, this love letter of support is backed up by the unwitting (but largely unwilling) U.S. taxpayer.

Embedded here of course is the admission that al-Qaeda is there at all - something that mainstream media originally denied, and the Department of Defense has even just recently posted on their site that:
WASHINGTON, July 26, 2012 – While there may be some extremists among the Syrian rebels, al-Qaida is not establishing a strong footprint in the country, Pentagon Press Secretary George Little said today. (Source)

This was an echo of the statement
by Defense Secretary Leon Panetta back in May.

Now that the West is openly supporting Al Qaeda in Syria (much like they did to topple Libya), the media can no longer keep a lid on it. At the same time, Western governments continue to crack down on liberties for their own populations in the name of fighting "terror" -- which used to mean al-Qaeda, but has magically shifted to any American who upholds the nation's founding principles (now known as
potential domestic terrorism ), or even Americans going about the  innocuous activities  of their day.

This deceit has been known by many for some time, but now even hardened ideologues can no longer pretend this isn't the case. From the
CIA founding Al Qaeda to stop the Soviets in Afghanistan, to using them more recently to topple secular Arab governments; more people will discover that 9/11 wasn't a hiatus in loyalty, but rather just another mission for this proxy force of the decision makers.

Husain and the CFR are factually correct that the rebels would be nothing without international jihadists joining the fight. In fact, a British photographer, John Cantile, recently released from rebel kidnappers, said out of the 30 rebels there was " Not a Syrian in sight ." He added "Two of them were so Anglicised they couldn't speak Arabic”.

The world is being told that the conflict in Syria is a "civil war" or, as the media labels it, "the war within". Yet if the overwhelming majority of rebels are "international jihadist" mercenaries, is it even appropriate to label it as such?

According to McClatchy News (via
Miami Herald ), Jeroen Oerlemans, a Dutch freelance photographer who was captured with Cantile, described the rebels as “foreign jihadists.”
"One of the black jihadists freaked out and shouted: ‘These are journalists and now they will see we are preparing an international jihad in this place,’" Oerlemans told the paper. In the days they were held, Oerlemans said, they met other foreign combatants. “We met many combatants who spoke good English, some with Birmingham accents,” he said, referring to the British city that has a large immigrant population. “They see Syria as the last battlefield. But first Assad must be toppled. So they fight against the same opponent as the Free Syrian Army, only with a different purpose. As soon as Assad has fallen, these fighters want to introduce Islamic law, Sharia, in Syria.”
Despite gruesome reports of mass murder by some of these jihadists, the U.S. is currently giving $100 million taxpayer dollars from its bankrupt coffers over to their efforts - $74 million now known as "humanitarian aid" and $25 million in "non-lethal" communications assistance. ( source )

This policy of supporting terrorists is also firmly in place with U.S. co-conspirator, the United Kingdom, where
Tony Cartalucci has reported:
In direct violation of both American and British anti-terrorism legislation, particularly provisions regarding providing material support for listed or proscribed terrorist organizations, the United Kingdom has just announced that it will provide armed militants that include listed terror organizations with a £5 million tranche of what it calls 'non-lethal practical assistance.' (Source)

These recent disclosures of providing material support to known terrorists, most notably Al Qaeda, have some wondering why government officials including the Obama Administration
are not being arrested and indefinitely detained under the 2012 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).

The recent CFR love letter to al-Qaeda just serves to illustrate the greater fog of war: perception management by those who would like to convince their own populations who fund their wars that up is down and black is white. It is a strategy that shows signs of failing, as the confusion and desperation grows among the ranks of the elite in their quest to control an increasingly awake global population whose memories don't seem to be as faulty as global controllers would like. Even the top level CFR supposed grandmaster of the geopolitical chessboard, Zbigniew Brzezinski, has had to admit this obvious weakness of elites and warmongers:
