5 strategies for peacefully underthrowing the status quo

One of the main obstacles that tie the general population to the status quo is that many people are looking for a step-by-step process for how we can peacefully neutralize the power structure and achieve peace on this planet.

This step-by-step process is not a possibility, because human actions and the advancement of technology are both totally unpredictable.  Sadly, it seems that people are waiting for a list of instructions that could never exist.

However, there is definitely hope, because although we cannot precisely chart the course to freedom, we can develop workable solutions that will lead us in the right direction and help us achieve greater levels of peace in our own lives.  In this article I am going to list the 5 strategies that I am most supportive of right now, and offer a brief description of how they work and why I believe they are effective approaches to meeting this goal.

(1) - Finding personal freedom – This should definitely be the first step, because when we find peace in our own hearts we are much better prepared and equipped to bring peace into the hearts of others. A few months ago I wrote an article on this subject which offered some solutions to speed along this process. When you are able to find freedom in your own personal life, you will set a positive example for your peers to follow and you will be contributing to the paradigm shift by “being the change that you want to see in the world” as Gandhi said.

(2) - Practicing Agorism – Agorism is a strategy of noncompliance that uses counter economics and underground markets as a way of keeping power in the hands of the average people, thus slowly diminishing the power and relevance of the control structure.  Growing food, using bitcoin, homeschooling, running a small business without licenses, bartering and starting community currencies are all examples of agorist activities.  Some agorists are even so bold as to create businesses that will challenge existing state monopolies, like we saw earlier this year when Detroit residents created their own community protection agencies because the police were no longer responding to 911 calls.  It is as simple as finding a need in your community for a particular good or service, and attempting to provide that value without any sort of interaction with the government or any other unchosen 3rd parties.  In other words, the basic idea is to try solving the problem yourself, with your community instead of waiting around for a politician to make the problem worse.

(3) - Reinventing oldspeak – When it comes to the power of words, the general population is far outmatched by the ruling class.  There have been generations of work among the aristocracy completely dedicated to mastering the art of verbal manipulation and deception.  They have their newspeak, which cloaks their transgressions in an air of false legitimacy, so we in turn, need to develop an oldspeak that describes reality as it is, but we need to be just as innovative and creative as those working against us.  I touched on this subject in my book Alchemy of the Modern Renaissance and I will share a short excerpt below:

Get Book Here
“What we must do to counteract this problem is to expand the limits of our vocabulary and create new terms and new words to describe the indescribable.  If you come up with a new word or new way of explaining something in your day to day conversations then by all means continue to use it! If it sounds good to you than your probably right and your addition to the language will most likely catch on, as long as it works.  Terms like vibe, synchronicity, freedom, ego trip or civil liberties have revolutionized philosophical dialogue just as terms like inertia, gravity or relativity have revolutionized scientific dialogue.  Imagine how hard it would be to have a conversation about the state of our society without words like “freedom”, “oppression” or “autonomy”.

These philosophical terms are all fairly new to our vocabulary and allow us to better describe things that were at one time just beyond our descriptive possibilities.  Some of these terms were created by philosophers, scientist and psychologists, others by college students and hippies.  Anyone can contribute to the positive expansion of their cultures vocabulary and tear down the linguistic barriers set by those who keep us mentally enslaved under their cultural paradigm.”

(4) - Peaceful parenting – The kind of society that we want to create, is eventually going to be the society that our children will be responsible for.  When they become adults, they will interact with each other based on the example that was set for them by their elders.  The more children who have lives that are filled with peace, negotiation and tranquility, the better chance there is of that kind of society existing when those children grow up.

Parenting is probably the most important responsibility that any of us will take on in our entire lives, and it is actually our greatest avenue of affecting real change in the world.  It is very possible that the fight for freedom will be either won or lost by the next generation, which means that it is up to us to make sure that our children are free to create their own path in learning, without being subjected to the oppressive indoctrination processes that are so prevalent in government schools. Likewise, it is important that we are not authoritarian with our children, if we truly want the next generation to live in freedom.  This does not mean letting children do whatever they want, but it means treating them with the same respect that you would treat an adult that was bigger than you.

(5) - Philosophy and education – As a society we have all been completely betrayed by the public education system and the mainstream media.  We have been given false values, irrational principles, destructive examples and have been led completely astray to the point where it is difficult to make sense of the world, which ultimately results in unfavorable and dangerous behavior.  A good many people in the world have fallen victim to this deception, but most people snap out of it quickly when they are able to make sense of reality.  This is where philosophy and education come in, because the damage that propaganda has inflicted on our minds is actually fairly easy to reverse, and today with the internet people are now able to teach themselves any subject, any time, at any age and usually for free.  So we do have that ability to advance philosophy and have widespread education even in this world today where we are still limited by the current system and its failures.

I understand what you mean by "authoritarian" but I think this still needs a little tweeking. Legitimate authority is what we are seeking, not rebellion to authority just for the sake of rebellion. Children need limits just like most adults.

In my view, the only reason we have too much government now, is because most of us have not learned self-government.

I find most of those who reject "religion" adopt some sort of spirituality because they are actually rejecting man-made religion, just as I do. Most infidelity is caused by the actions of other men, not the truth that Jesus taught.

The Kingdom of God is a government not a religion.

i do see what your getting at, but as i said with the language barriers that we have

i dont think that there should even be such a thing as "legitimate authority"

in my view thats an oxymoron

sure there are people who we should legitimately depend on as experts in their feild

but i think its counter productive to call these people authorities because that term has been tainted

we need new words :-)

I wrote an article similar to this on my blog Third Eye Cyclops -

http://thirdeyecyclops.blogspot.ca/2012/08/be-one-more-light.html

I think these are great points, I would add to this Community Building. The more we can rely on our friends, neighbors and community at large the less reliance we have on the "other".

I also think its important to come together as a single voice where we live. As I said in my essay "if your neighbor is arrested for growing a garden, the next day we all grow gardens!"

Solidarity is essential.

Laws that are not just and not for the higher good need to be ignored. If we all agree to this, the harder it becomes for them to enforce their stupid nonsense.

You'll never accomplish so much with so little risk and effort as getting someone who represents your interests into LOCAL elected office. Rather than overthrowing everything and reverting to a combination of mediaeval feudalism and Gilligan's Island, use the tools that centuries of democratic progress have given you to stop the evil empire where you still can: at the local level. Forget about thwarting the billionaire oligarchy's plans at the federal level. Washington DC is a lost cause.

I agree with you that much of our current battles are fought around words...mostly it's about the enemy using words to prevent the flow of information. The human mind is our current battleground, and should be thought of that way. The enemy is throwing smoke grenades. We need to be using illumination flares.

BTW, it appears that this website doesn't let you post if you are using Tor. Why?

that and the venus project have already touched all solutions with out violence.

One thing people need to not do is be predictable. Don't go and protest or even get involved. Do not riot or get angered this is all been set up so you behave in a certain way.

Be at peace in your mind first then the rest will follow. It's pretty had to beat them when they have vast military and control most if not all the money, but I doubt there plans will work.

Something that George Carlin taught me was never to underestimate the importance of words, language and how we use it.

I totally agree, we NEED new words. Language helps determine your perception of your environment. It's alive and it creates the reality around you.

One new word I learned recently is: Freeganism

"Freegans are people who employ alternative strategies for living based on limited participation in the conventional economy and minimal consumption of resources. Freegans embrace community, generosity, social concern, freedom, cooperation, and sharing in opposition to a society based on materialism, moral apathy, competition, conformity, and greed."
http://freegan.info/

After reading that for the first time I realized that that's how I've been striving to live since I was a kid. We need to get out of these old, crumbling paradigms and create new, sustainable, and HUMANE ways of living.

I came across BITCOIN somewhere else in my readings. I'll have to look more into it, it looks very interesting.

Thanks for the great article!

I agree with JG Vibes that "legitimate authority" is an oxymoron, in my opinion much like "vaccine safety" or "military intelligence".

"All authority is evil."
J Krishnamurti

I diagree with messianicdruid who says that "The Kingdom of God is a government not a religion."

To me, the Kingdom of God is simply the Kingdom of God; it is neither a government nor a religion.

Finally, I feel it needs to be noted that vaccination programmes are part of an agenda designed to make us sick in order to easily control and eventually exterminate us, all in the name of public health and disease prevention. My advice is to not EVER allow anyone to inject you or a member of your family with a vaccine of any kind, but it's of course your choice.

An obvious one: get your money out of the big banks and tell your friends and family to do the same. Don't give them a cent. Keep your money in physical cash, precious metals, bitcoin. If you need a bank to clear funds, use a local credit union -- they are usually a better deal anyway and help support your local community. When you withdraw funds from the big banks, you cripple their power.

Knowledge is power.

Sadly for most of the people in this world today those with the knowledge that grants power are the 'elites' leading us down the pathway towards No tomorrow.

The irony is that if you understand the knowledge that grants them power yourself you may lose the Will to fight them any more.

A lot of people today, especially many posters here, are aware that knowledge is power and are actively seeking to gain greater knowledge and should be commended for it.

But even here the true knowledge that grants real power is kept hidden or obfuscated and as Chris pointed out earlier attempting to divulge much of that knowledge here on AP will sometimes result in censorship.

Bullshit knowledge is what they have granted for us and the only thing it provides is a lifetime of willing slavery.

The only way to over or under-throw the powers that be of today is to seek out and find that real knowledge and do your best to filter out the BS knowledge.

That or we can all just sit around on our asses waiting for a knight in shining armor to come and save us from ourselves while enjoying blissful ignorance(as 90% of the people I know have chosen to do).

Bah, why does it feel like I am just constantly running in circles and never getting anywhere?

I know more and more people are waking up and that is a positive thing but waking up does not mean they can see the full truth and are still submitting their collective will to higher powers.

Those higher powers could really use a good cutting down to size but at this point there is a thin line between legitimate hope and delusion in wishing for that.

Peace.

Hope. Be optimistic. Be realistic, too. Know thy enemy. Ben Franklin said that the true reason the Colonists fought a War for Independence in the Colonies, was because King George III (actually, the Rothschilds, in the 'City' of London) wouldn't permit them to print and distribute Colonial Scrip (currency). Thomas Jefferson, Andrew Jackson were both against the Rothschild Central Bank. But then, in 1913, it was re-established, under Woodrow Wilson. We had a successful revolution once - there is NO REASON WHY WE CANNOT HAVE ANOTHER! Think: What do I support, with my time, money, and attention/energy? Think. Then, act on it!

Confucius on government and society:

"Heaven gave birth to virtue in me; what can opponents do to me?"

"Exemplary people understand matters of justice; small people understand matters of profit."

Confucius said, "If leaders are courteous, their people will not dare to be disrespectful. If leaders are just, their people will not dare be detractable. If leaders are trustworthy, their people will not dare to be dishonest."

"Can an ignoble man serve in government? No. He worries about getting something, and once he has got it he worries about losing it. As long as he worries about losing, there's no telling what he might do."

This year, I read the Analects of Confucius and an excellent companion book, Confucius: A Life of Thought and Politics, by Annping Chin. The last quote of Master Kong is notable, now that the November elections have taken place. I believe, however, that now the Emperor is in his second term and he does not have to concern himself with pleasing the electorate, so it is he about whom we may say, "there's no telling what he might do."
