NYPD labels people “professional agitators” for filming police

Madison Ruppert, Contributor
Activist Post

The New York Police Department apparently classifies individuals who choose to exercise their right to videotape police engaging in their public duties “professional agitators” as revealed by a poster inside the NYPD’s 30th Precinct.

While this is hardly surprising coming from a police department so woefully corrupt that an officer who actually attempted to do his job by exposing rampant, systematic corruption ended up being thrown in a psychiatric ward by his superiors, it is troubling nonetheless.

Let us not forget, the NYPD has also created a social media unit in order to conduct surveillance on various social media outlets, has been busted spying on innocent Muslims, using highly questionable tactics in order to arrest Occupy Wall Street activists and even been shown by a former narcotics detective to be fabricating drug charges to meet quotas.

If anything can be said about the New York Police Department with any degree of certainty, it is that they probably have a significant reason to fear being recorded in carrying out their often deplorable activities.

According to Christina Gonzalez Nysid, one of the two “professional agitators” depicted on the poster (which has a couple of egregious and hilariously elementary grammatical and spelling errors), she discovered it after walking in to the monthly 30th Precinct community board meeting.

The poster reads (in all capital letters):
Be aware that above suspects are known professional agitators that live at 445 West 153rd Street. Above subjects MO is that they video tape officers performing routine stops and post on YouTube. Subjects purpose is to portray officers in a negative way and too [sic] deter officers from conducting there [sic] responsibilities. Above subjects also deter officers from beings safe and tactical by causing unnecessary distraction. Do not feed into above subjects [sic] propaganda.
See the poster displayed inside of the precinct in the below short video.

One of the most laughable parts of this poster – aside from the glaring errors which most high school graduates would likely catch – is that the upper left hand corner appears to show the seal for the NYPD’s “Intelligence Division”.

Below the block of text we see that the point of contact appears to be a certain Sgt. Nicholson 30 Pct FIO with a cell phone number which is unfortunately quite hard to read due to the blurriness of the image. However, my best guess it that the number is (646) 210-9304.

Other points of contact, gathered from the 30th Precinct’s official website, could be either the main precinct’s phone number: (212) 690-8811 or community affairs: (212) 690-8837.

I highly encourage people to contact this precinct – especially if you live in the area – in order to make it clear that exercising one’s right to film police is in no way an act of “agitation” and that people who choose to make a habit of exercising this right are not “professional agitators.”

This type of attitude is what allows police around the country to think they have the right to brutally assault people for filming them, destroy evidence and conduct unlawful arrests.

We are supposed to be protected and served by the police, not intimidated and harassed for attempting to hold them accountable for their actions.

If we allow this type of attitude among police departments to flourish as it has, we can only expect more of the same.

as opposed to them being professional criminals

I sit on both sides of the fence on this one. I do not know the history behind who they are calling agitators. So I can not comment on them.

I also think things are not as black and white as they appear. The law enforcement has done a great job for the most part, better than in the UK, but the US has abused its power and force which creates distrust. This polarizes things for both demonstrators and law enforcement.

It would be naive to think there are not professional anarchists (or agitators as the author uses). My fear is that movements like OWS, teaparty, and Truthers will be coopted by either cointel and/or professional anarchists. Both have their own motivations.

What is important is that the demonstrations have been non-violent. One of the great strengths of the movements is that its not centralized, but the weaknes is that it is so amorphous that there isn't a unified message or goal.

This movement should be in front of the whitehouse. Demanding those on wallstreet to go to trial- these congressional hearings with Corzine and Jaime Dimon are a Joke. What about Leahman Brothers and those that were at the whole 2008 debacle. No accountability.

This is what lawmakers need to be accountable for. Lobbyists for these banks should have been put on the list as "professional agitators"

"What is important is that the demonstrations have been non-violent"

You are incorrect in the way you wrote that sentence, it should be:

"The demonstrators have been non-violent"

Or have you not watched the videos? There is a reason why they do not want to be on a video. If they were following the law, and not acting like the SS did so many people would not now be capturing them on video. Even law enforcement who recently retired cannot believe the actions of "fellow" officers that are currently in positions they once held.

But those officers are aiding in the Destruction of our legitimate government, in bringing down our nation as was done in Germany. I challenge all Law Enforcement Officers to read the "Opening Statement" (Nuremberg Trial) by Justice Robert H. Jackson, Chief of Counsel for the United States.
roberthjackson.org/the-man/nuremberg-trial/

Does this sound familiar? 'A presidential decree was created suspending the extensive guarantees of individual liberty contained in the constitution of the Weimar Republic. Those decree’s were restrictions on personal liberty, on the right of free expression of opinion - including freedom of the press,
On the right of peaceful assembly, the right of association,
And violations of the privacy: postal, telegraphic, and telephonic communications;
And no need for warrants for house-searches, Orders for confiscations as well as restrictions on property, etc all taken away under the guise of “keeping the people safe”.' {much like what is happening within the USA today, as all of the “restrictions” on our freedoms are “for our own safety”}
Many were arrested as “belligerents” – no real crime committed, just disagreeing with the destruction of their legitimate government.

Or “Uncontrolled search and seizure is one of the first and most effective weapons in the arsenal of every arbitrary government. Among deprivations of rights, none is so effective in cowing a population, crushing the spirit of the individual and putting terror in every heart.”
Justice Robert Jackson, Chief U.S. Prosecutor at the Nuremberg Trials

Or 'Eventually they organized and dominated every phase of German life' {as is being tried here thru the UN laws, and executive orders, bills, laws made here}.
'They created a “Party” police system, which became the pattern and the instrument of the police state, which was the first goal in their plan.' {DHS and TSA – starting to arrange themselves throughout our nation to control our every move and where we can go: at airports, bus stations, train stations, even on our own roads}
Or Secret arrest and indefinite detention; without charges, without evidence, without hearing, without counsel, and no court could issue an injunction, or writ of habeas corpus, or certiorari. The German people were in the hands of the police, the police were in the hands of the Nazi Party, and the Party was in the hands of a ring of evil men who wanted to rule the world. {NDAA, Patriot Act, various executive orders, warrantless arrests, New World Order, etc}

Anything sound familiar to you yet? Anyone?

No one understands what Officers experience, especially, in NY, but when the police beat someone to near death then they should be exposed! If the Officers are doing nothing wrong then why worry over being video-taped? That is the question, isn't it?

It's a new world we live in. 9/11 changed us all.
