Like virtually all massacre shooters before him, the notorious Batman shooter James Holmes is now reported to have been taking hardcore pharmaceutical drugs.
In Holmes’ case, they happen to be the very same drugs that ultimately led to the early death of actor Heath Ledger.
With a fix for ‘altering his state of mind’, the ‘Batman shooter’ was heavily hooked on the prescription painkiller Vicodin. Holmes even reportedly dosed up on a pharmaceutical cocktail just before the shooting.
Side effects of Vicodin use, even at ‘recommended’ levels which Holmes likely far exceeded, include ‘altered mental states’ and ‘unusual thoughts or behavior’.
While also abusing the same prescription pharmaceuticals as Heath Ledger (who played The Joker in a previous Batman), Holmes actually told police that he was The Joker.
The statements made by Holmes were even curious to many friends and relatives, who said just a year ago Holmes was seen as an ‘all-American boy’ with an affinity for his family.
It appears what changed was the Batman shooter’s decision to begin altering his mental state with prescription drug abuse. Abuse which may have far extended beyond painkillers and potentially included psychotropic drugs — the very same drugs that almost every single massacre shooter have taken.
At his online dating profile, Holmes refuses to answer the question as to whether or not he uses drugs, and to what extent. In response to the question, Homes writes “prefer not to say.”

Prescription painkillers alone have been shown to be even deadlier and more damaging than many illegal drugs. In 2008, more Americans died from pharmaceuticals painkillers than illegal drugs like cocaine and heroin combined. Going even further, statistical analysis reveals that prescription drug deaths outnumber traffic accidents when it comes to fatalities. One reason for this is the change in mental activity, which can potentially lead to destructive and radical behavior.
In fact, more than 12 million individuals in the United States reported taking prescription painkillers ‘purely for the high‘ that they cause instead of their intended purpose.
As more information comes out on the case, it will likely reveal an increasingly deep history of prescription drug abuse on behalf of Holmes. Just as the Columbine incident continued to develop into a horrific story of drug abuse and an obsession with mind alteration, it appears this case will follow a similar trend.

Wow, I've been waiting for this type of info. to come out. I also wonder what role his studies in neuroscience played. The elites have been messing around in that field for a LONG time.
I wouldn't push the Vicodin idea as being behind the shooting. It is more likely he was also on antidepressants or something like that. Take it from someone with a 40 year heroin addiction that opiates/opioids so not cause this sort of behaviour. We would all rather be nodding off in our favourite lounge chair.
I think it's oversimplistic to place so much emphasis on pharmaceuticals for these killings. For thousands of years, alcohol has made people violent and precipitated bloody fighting. Jails are filled with guys who committed felonies under the influence. But western societies don't ban booze because most people can control their drinking. The proper use of the many shouldn't be ended because of the abuse of the few.
Why don't we see these kinds of murder sprees occurring as frequently in Europe and Asia? I've lived there and guns are not as easy to acquire as they are here, even for criminals. Plus, American entertainment is drenched in violence. And finally, many Americans, inculcated with the idea that independence is so valuable, live rootless lives, with little social cohesion. It's easy to see why we have so many social misfits committing so many homicides.

SSRI type medications are cleared from the body by enzymes in the liver. A small minority of people cannot properly metabolize these drugs and they reach much higher levels in the blood and brain. It is possible now to tell which folks have the enzyme defects that make these drugs more dangerous. Some researchers have begun to try to get enzyme sample from some of the spree killers who were on SSRIs.

Many people are missing the obvious in this story, and the gun control angle. Yes, he was on drugs but they will never tell us anything but disinfo, as it would be a blow to big pharmaceuticals. As a disabled veteran who has used a number of powerful pain killers over the years and who also worked with developmentally-disabled folks who were taking numerous psychotropic drugs, just looking through a copy of the Physician's Desk Reference on pharmaceuticals is very alarming. Prolonged use of Vicotin for example will eventually lead to severe insomnia and massive migraine headaches. The mistake many users make, is thinking that, since they are in pain, they should take it more often or in greater doses. If taken without food, some of these drugs can damage your liver and its enzyme-creating ability to help you metabolize these drugs. And when a person took things like Prozac for ADHD as a kid, it has a lasting effect on brain chemistry-- (one of the reasons the U.S. military won't accept enlistment by anyone who have ever been on such drugs.) When multiple drugs are in a person's system simultaneously, one drug can occupy the appropriate receptors in the body until that link is depleted, then the other drug can latch on the the receptors hours later, with unexpected consequences. But if a person is denied restful (REM) sleep for a long enough interval, you can expect delusional or even psychotic behavior. My bet is, that this will be the defense used by the shooter's lawyers. But having been by all accounts an exemplary neuroscience PhD candidate, the perp should have already known about this stuff.
Tom Rich Ryan, I strongly disagree having lost a family member who was prescribed psychotropics (Cymbalta and Abilify)for a back ache. Before he died - details I can't share because of my grandkids, the family member was aggressive, paranoid, couldn't sleep, couldn't eat, maniacal. Even though we mourn the loss it could have been so much worse. I have met people through my advocacy where time and again not only was the individual harmed by the psychotropics the family members were too. One case is Kim Crespi. You might want to Google it.
More evidence is needed. I assumed like with the Virginia Tech. shooting and prior CO school shooting, that psych-meds were involved. aka Prozac or anti-depressants.. Something more than merely Vicodin.

The suspect was receiving Unemployment Benefits, and so it would have been cheaper if had he lived with his mother, rather than paying rent.

Sorry but, I just don't buy this story on the FACT, I have been on even HARDER pain medication ( Morphine Sulfate and Klonopin ) and to say Holmes did this while on Vicodin is absurd. I am also a Veteran, a chronic-pain patient, and have used all kinds of drugs, legal and illegal, ALL of my life. I WAS one of those people who just did not understand life, hence it became very painful for me and I turned to drugs for comfort. This lasted 35 yrs. and now 10 yrs. of non-stop everyday LEGAL usage of Morphine and Klonopin. I DO have an anger issue but, thankfully I don't feel the need to take my problems out on society. Anyone with any knowlege of Opiate-derived medicines such as Vicodin, Percocet, Codeine, etc. knows the "High" is wonderful. That's WHY these types of painkillers are so popular. The ANTI-DEPPRESANTS are the REAL problem here in America. First, let me ask, why are we allowing the drug companies to sell their poisons in the first place when they don't even know how or why their drugs "work" and even admit this on their adds? Think about it! The announcer say's "It is THOUGHT (drug name) balances your bio-chemistry" (sic). THOUGHT? They aren't even sure how it works! And most of these real mind-benders- the anti-depressants, say the very same thing. I have YET to meet anyone who truly gets a medicinal benefit from any of those poisons. And to write a story with the very same un-certainty is irresponsible. The word "Perhaps" does NOT belong in a story as important as this one.
And they make the natural herb marijuana illegal that would never cause such a violent effect of vicodin or even alcohol ... law makers and pill manufacturers should hold some responsibility to the suffering their actions imposes all around ...

Appearing on the Alex Jones Show today, investigative journalist Wayne Madsen said accused shooter James Holmes had a number of links to U.S. government-funded research centers, including the Defense Advance Research Projects Agency, or DARPA.
James Holmes was one of six recipients of a National Institutes of Health Neuroscience Training Grant at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus in Denver, Madsen writes for the Wayne Madsen Report.
“The Anschutz Medical Campus is on the recently de-commisioned site of the U.S. Army’s Fitzsimons Army Medical Center and is named after Philip Anschutz, the billionaire Christian fundamentalist oil and railroad tycoon who also owns The Examiner newspaper chain and website and the neo-conservative Weekly Standard,” Madsen explains. “The Anschutz Medical Campus was built by a $91 million grant from the Anschutz Foundation.”
Holmes also worked as a research assistant intern at the Salk Institute at the University of California at San Diego in La Jolla. The Salk Institute teamed up with DARPA, Columbia University, University of California at San Francisco, University of Wisconsin at Madison, Wake Forest University, and the candy bar company Mars “to prevent fatigue in combat troops through the enhanced use of epicatechina, a blood flow-increasing and blood vessel-dilating anti-oxidant flavanol found in cocoa and, particularly, in dark chocolate,” according to Madsen’s research.
The DARPA program was part of the military’s “Peak Soldier Performance Program,” which involved engineering brain-machine interfaces for battlefield use and other bionic projects.
In addition, James Holmes’ father, Dr. Robert Holmes, worked for San Diego-based HNC Software, Inc., a company that worked with DARPA to develop “cortronic neural networks” that enable machines to translate aural and visual stimuli and simulate human thinking.
The Holmes family appears to have deep connections to the military-industrial complex. Lt. Col. Robert Holmes, the grandfather of James Holmes, was a graduate Turkish language graduates of the Army Language School, later the Defense Language Institute, in Monterey, California (the same military installation, incidentally, where alleged 9/11 hijacker Saeed Alghamdi trained).
The elder Holmes, Madsen notes, more than likely worked in intelligence. “Typically, U.S. military officers conversant in Turkish served with either the Defense Intelligence Agency or the Central Intelligence Agency at either the U.S. embassy in Ankara or the Consulate General in Istanbul, or both,” he writes.
“Was James Holmes engaged in a real-life Jason Bourne TREADSTONE project that broke down and resulted in deadly consequences in Aurora, Colorado?” Madsen concludes. Operation Treadstone was a fictional top-secret CIA project under which the character Jason Bourne underwent behavioral modification.
Both Columbine and the latest theatre massacre were carried out by mind controlled assassins programmed by the C.I.A.. They even dyed his hair to further smear him. Another fact that is relevant in the theatre massacre is the fact that the shooter's father worked for D.A.R.P.A. in the mind control industry.I think dad didn't like his son very much, and sacrificed him for advancement.The shooter was also studying neurobiology in college.A red flag if I ever saw one, as American universities are crawling with spooks.

Being addicted to this painkiller and others means you are crushing and snorting or crushing mixing and injecting. then going and shooting people.
A person taking it by mouth in a low dose legal amount for a real health issue and accidentally killing himself and himself alone is NOT THE SAME THING!
Leave Mr Ledger out of this awful incident.
He was a loving generous man who I had the privilege to know and he was NOT a drug addict. Media BS is all that you are reporting.
Heath Ledger WAS a party animal! I know cuz he would come to my Doctors for his "Meds." Notice I said DOCTORS, plural. And another thing, he was not racist but, not very keen on certain ethnic groups. I partied with him and really didn't like his "separative" attitude,as if he were so different from the rest of the world. This was right before Brokeback and even then, he was "handeled" by those who were assigned to him. Most people don't know how Hollywood works. If you show great MONEY MAKING potential, Hollywood will go to tremendous lengths to see you are O.K. and don't destroy yourself. As with Brittney, the3 "machine" still made money off of her and they were willing to let her go down in flames. She was considered a liability and since she created such a circus when she was acting up, she still made people money. Only when the public were getting bored with her antics did, her handlers make a decision. To help her or not to help her. They chose to help and look at her now.
