New Poll: Almost Everyone Thinks It's Wrong to Jail People for Pot

Via NORML, check out this new data from an Angus Reid Public Opinion poll.
Majorities of respondents in the three countries (Britain 56%, Canada 68%, United States 74%) welcome the concept of using alternative penalties—such as fines, probation or community service—rather than prison for non-violent offenders. At least seven-in-ten Britons (70%), Americans (74%) and Canadians (78%) believe personal marijuana use should be dealt with through alternative penalties.
…And yet I keep hearing people justifying Obama's medical marijuana crackdown on the grounds that voters will be impressed by his toughness. How much more evidence do we need that huge majorities support less punitive marijuana policies? It's time to bury the antiquated, idiotic myth that the public supports tough drug laws. It's false and it's been false for a very long time.

Please use your search engine and look up jury nullification. Then pass the message on to potential jurors in your towns. We can make a law ineffective if every one is educated about JN

First, we must remember Marijuana was made illegal by a racist coward with a little power- the worst kind of law maker. Yes, I know he was the first "Drug Czar" and the info on weed in those days was not very accurate but, one only had to study a little history and be true to the FACTS concerning this magical plant before making an irrational move. Maybe if Harry Ass-slinger would have been more of a man instead of a mouse, we could really be somewhere on this whole Marijuana issue. Today's science and the true, documented, and admitted positive and medicinal qualities of Cannabis just might be seen and appreciated in a different light if only the truth were told instead of lies, lies, and more LIES.

There should be the same penalty for smoking weed as their is for eating pearl onions. They BOTH cause equal damage to a person. Or Spinach, that Druggy Popeye was just a propagandist. Or Iceberg Lettuce, now there is a case for Life in Prison. Or maybe Radishes, those Radish Heads you always see out on the 'Mean Streets'. Or Jesus, NOBODY has been more responsible for death than him....oops did I go too far? The war on drugs is a farse, always has been and always will be. Legalize weed, THAT is something Jesus WOULD DO.
