In the early morning hours of October 22, 2011, 14 Orlando Police patrol cars and an arrest van pulled up to Senator Beth Johnson Park in Downtown Orlando. They did not come to keep the peace or to serve and protect. They came to suppress the free speech and peaceable assembly rights of the Occupy Orlando movement by illegally arresting over 20 people who were peacefully demonstrating by sitting together in a circle and holding hands. This was done in direct, blatant violation of their First Amendment Rights. Shame and condemnation upon the Orlando PD, the City of Orlando, and on Mayor Buddy Dyer. You’ve all forgotten who you work for.
