American government Mafia actively targets the weak: terminal cancer patients, little girls and the homeless

Arrested in America for feeding the homeless

Throughout history, the Mafia has run extortion schemes known as “protection rackets.” These scams revolve around the Mafia coercing an individual or business to fork over money in exchange for protection services.  When the victim refuses to give funds to the criminals, they crack down to show the individual what will happen if they continue to withhold funds. This traditionally involves property damage or theft carried out by the same racketeers supposedly offering the “protection” to the victim.

The Federal government of the United States of America has now become no better than a group of racketeering Mafiosos, running a protection racket on the American people.  Of course, they hide behind the veil of “permits” and “city ordinances” in order to hustle American citizens into forking over their hard-earned cash in exchange for protection from so-called authorities.

In reality, the rackets run by police and the IRS are no different than the criminal Mafia operations that have plagued many countries for decades on end.

In one of the most disturbing cases of government harassment of the weak and helpless, earlier this week KATU, a local Salem news outlet, reported the story of a terminal cancer patient who was targeted for having a garage sale.

Jan Cline was an independent businesswoman supporting herself for years before she was diagnosed with a terminal form of bone cancer earlier this year.

Cline describes her ailment as “a bone marrow cancer that eats through the bones and causes holes in the bones” and thus “just by walking I can break a bone.”

Clearly Cline’s ailment is inhibiting her ability to work, thus making it impossible for her to pay for her costly cancer treatments.

Cline began selling some of her possessions in her backyard on the weekends in an attempt to raise the funds she so desperately needs since the horrific cancer she is afflicted with makes it impossible for her to work in order to pay off her massive medical bills.

She thought she would be fine as she was selling her own goods on her own property out of everyone’s way, and as an American she likely thought that she wouldn’t be harassed by thugs for attempting to take care of herself the only way possible.

Unfortunately, she was wrong.

Her garage sales were making her several hundred much-needed dollars each weekend, that is until one of her neighbors complained about a terminal cancer patient attempting to support herself.

The city showed up and promptly shut her down. Cline was not aware, but the city of Salem has a law mandating that an individual may only have three yard sales per year.

This kind of ridiculous legislation is, on its face, absurd. At least, it seems that way to me and likely anyone else who thinks that in the United States we are free to do whatever we please on our own property as long as we are not hurting anyone (within reason, of course).

However, the emerging “nanny state” in which everything must be legislated and every minutia of our lives must be approved by a bunch of life-long bureaucrats who wish only to bilk their fellow citizens out of as much money as humanly possible is completely opposed to such a notion of freedom.

In the nanny state you are only allowed to do exactly what the government permits you to, or else you are quickly targeted by the Mafia thugs known as “police” and “Federal authorities”.

Cline says that she doesn’t want special treatment; all she seeks is understanding and human compassion. In an interview with KATU she begins crying when talking about how she doesn’t want to be nickel-and-diming all of her property in order to survive, and hopes no one else would have to do so.

Indeed, it says something about our medical system when a once independent businesswoman has to start selling all of her goods for literally pennies in order to save her own life.

It says something even worse about government when they step in and won’t allow someone to raise money to save their own life because of a city ordinance.

Cline told KATU, “I just hope that nobody else has to go through this kind of thing. I hope no one else has to give their lives away for nickels and dimes and then be told they can’t even do that. I hope nobody else has to do this ever.”

The ordinance is supposedly there to keep people from constantly selling goods in a flea-market-type fashion, according to Salem’s Community Development Department.

When KATU contacted the Department about their choice to harass a woman struggling with terminal cancer, they attempted to damage control by claiming that they would take another look to see if there is anything Cline can do to operate within the law.

How about letting her do it and forgetting about your outlandish city ordinance that is literally making it impossible for a woman to raise a few bucks to pay for her cancer treatment? No, that would entail having a respect for the dignity of human life and that is far beyond the capability of these bureaucratic scumbags who allow this to go on.

If Cline were to re-open her yard sale, she would be not only fined a whopping $300 (which she clearly does not have and could not raise) but would also face misdemeanor charges.

I’m sure that someone could rationalize this by saying, “Why doesn’t she just take out a loan?” Yes, a woman who cannot pay for her terminal cancer treatment and cannot work would assuredly get a fair loan which she would be able to pay back! Oh wait, no, she wouldn’t. She would get signed on to debt with a plan she would never be able to pay back, if she could even get a loan at all.

Restricting Cline’s ability to raise any money to afford her treatment is nothing more than ensuring her death.

I would not be surprised if these disgusting city “officials” laughed as they thought about a poor woman withering away without the ability to access proper medical treatment.

After all, if they had even an ounce of decency, they would fully exempt her from this absurd ordinance and allow her to do whatever she needs to raise money.

If they cared one iota about the well-being of this woman, they would not only exempt her, but help her raise money to pay for her treatment, but that is far too much to expect from these people.

I have no problem saying that I am disgusted to be in the same country with people so demented that they could actually place a city ordinance above the sanctity of human life.

Unfortunately, older women suffering from terminal diseases are not the only opportune target for the soulless thugs that call themselves “law enforcement officers”, who, if all was right with our country would be referred to as public servants and peace officers.

Young girls also seem to be a favorite for the “authorities” to pick on. Take, for instance, the many cases across the nation of police cracking down on little girls who attempt to set up a lemonade stand to make some pocket change.

I remember that my first venture into the world of business was a lemonade stand I set up with my mother on a neighborhood street. She gave me my first (and last) business loan in the form of paying for the lemonade mix and the cups.

I had a great time sitting behind my little table selling 50 cent cups of lemonade to passersby, some of which were so happy to experience the nostalgia of seeing a kid selling lemonade by the roadside that they gave me what I thought at the time to be ridiculously large sums of money like $20 for a single cup.

I paid my mother back and enjoyed the profits in the forms of books and toys for at least a year or two after the close of my business venture.

Sadly, children nowadays cannot enjoy the simple pleasure of attempting to make a little money and experience what it is like to operate an independent business for a day.

Now that I think about it, I might be better off not saying that I did such a thing as the IRS or the state might come knocking on my door asking for thousands of dollars in back taxes and fees for not obtaining a business license.

Do not think such a thing is out of the question, as at least five years after the fact I received a bill for failure to obtain a business license when I was 12 for selling my account for an online game.

In true Mafia style, the letter instructed me that if I failed to pay their fees they would double the costs and send a collection agency after me.

Of course they were well aware that I was not even a teenager at the time, but age is clearly of no importance to a Mafia running a protection racket.

My story is tame compared to what children experience currently, as at least I can say I didn’t have any power tripping police officers who are perpetually trying to make up for their failures in life coming up to me and harassing me to my face.

The saddest part of this trend in “law enforcement” is that it is not isolated to a single state or region.

For some reason cops from across the nation think it is their duty not to go after real criminals but instead spend their time shutting down a child’s lemonade stand.

Take, for instance, the case of three girls who were hoping to raise some money to go to a waterpark in Midway, Georgia.

One of the girl astutely remarks, “It’s kind of crazy that we couldn’t sell lemonade […] We had to listen to the cops and shut it down.”

The stand was only open for a day before the useless Midway Police Chief and another officer drove by and saw the three young girls’ lemonade stand.

While most driving by such a scene would see it as cute and would likely stop to patronize such a stand, the police saw it as a great opportunity to shake down some citizens, Mafia style.

One of the girls told reporters that she didn’t even know why the police shut the stand down. This further reinforces the fallacious idea that we have to blindly follow police orders even when they do not tell us on what grounds they are giving these orders.

Kelly Morningstar, Midway’s Police Chief and a disgrace to law enforcement the world over, told reporters, “We told them, ‘Look, we understand you guys are young, but still, you’re breaking the law and we can’t let you do it anymore.’”

If Morningstar couldn’t manage to make herself and her department look more imbecilic, she continued to say, “The law is the law and we have to be consecutive [unintelligible mumbling] consistent with how we enforce the laws.”

Just like in the above case in which police justified the harassment of a terminal cancer patient with a city ordinance, the police justified this action by citing a city ordinance which would require the girls to not only get a business license but also food and vendor’s permits in order to open a lemonade stand.

I think we all know that requiring three little girls to spend hundreds of dollars to set up a lemonade stand is no different than making it illegal for children to sell lemonade. There is no way that these young girls could obtain the permits and pay for them when they were just trying to raise a few bucks to go to a water park.

Not surprisingly, the typical nanny state justification was rolled out in full force: they are only doing this to take care of us!

Morningstar said, “We were not aware of how the lemonade was made, who made the lemonade, of what the lemonade was made with, so we did act accordingly.”

Personally, if I was a police officer under Morningstar’s incompetent command, I would be thoroughly ashamed that someone of this cognitive caliber was actually considered a community leader.

One of the children’s mothers perfectly exemplified the type of thinking that allows this beyond sub-par policing to go on.

She said that since she wants to set a good example for her children, she doesn’t want to “keep on and on and on” since that “wouldn’t teach them a good thing.”

I take issue with this, as teaching your children to kowtow to a police state is not “a good thing” by any metric.

In Bethesda, Maryland, another group of children were fined $500 by a county inspector for their attempt to raise money for charity and a little bit for themselves by operating a lemonade stand.

In true Mafia fashion, another group of individuals were allowed to operate a business selling parking spaces on their front laws during the U.S. Open because they paid the protection fee of $300 to the county.

The protection fee is branded as a “business license” since we are not free human beings who should be able to open a business if we please, whenever we please, wherever we please.

No, in America, you have to get permission from the government to do just about everything: get married, open a business, or even sell lemonade.

In the above CNN news report, one woman says, “the message to kids is, there is no American dream.”

I sadly have to agree.

In yet another disturbing instance of police targeting children, the city of Coralville, Iowa shut down at least three children’s lemonade stands over a single weekend, and then had the gall to defend their actions.

One lemonade stand run by a four-year-old girl was shut down by police in just 30 minutes and the officer admitted to one parent that it was not the first time.

The officer told the wife of Dustin Krutsinger, the father of the four-year-old child, that “this isn’t the first time I’ve had to do this.”

The child’s crime was selling lemonade for a whopping 25 cents a cup. At the time of the shutdown, the girl made less than $5.

The child was, according to the city of Coralville, in violation of a two-day city ordinance which forced anyone who decided to vend when The Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa, or RAGBRAI, was going through their town.

Again the absurd justifications were quickly offered by the city. The President of the Iowa City/Coralville Convention and Visitors Bureau, Josh Shamberger, said that it was okay because “the ordinance was passed to protect riders from possible health risks.”

Shamberger also lamented that “the work of 500 volunteers may be forgotten, and lemonade shut downs will be remembered.” I sincerely hope that was the case as Americans should not put volunteers supporting a bike ride above the simplest of freedoms that are supposed to make the United States the beacon of democracy and freedom for the rest of the world.

Little girls are not the only ones targeted in the government Mafia’s extortion racket, another victim of this thuggery is the underserved homeless population of America.

Human rights activist group Food Not Bombs has been targeted by Orlando, Florida police on multiple occasions when they were attempting to feed hungry homeless Americans out of the kindness of their own heart.

Now, I find this even more disturbing than the above examples because these individuals were not even selling anything!

They simply set up a table in a public park with fresh, healthy food and started giving it away to anyone who needed a meal.

What do they get in exchange?

They received treatment which should be afforded to criminals, not Americans attempting to help other Americans with empty stomachs.

This was not just a fluke incident that could be explained away. To the dismay of every single rational and remotely caring individual in the world, this happened several times.

The egregious crime committed by Food Not Bombs activists in Orlando was defying a city permit that restricted feeding groups of people in public parks. God forbid anyone attempt to help the homeless population on land that belongs to the American taxpayer! What a world that would be!

Unfortunately, the “hacktivist” group known as Anonymous attempted to help the Orlando chapter of Food Not Bombs, but actually just distracted from the real issue of the “mayor who’s trying to criminalize poverty.”

The most disturbing part of the protracted battle between Food Not Bombs and the Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer is that Dyer actually characterized Food Not Bombs as “food terrorists.”

Apparently attempting to help out a fellow human being who is struggling to survive is now an act of terrorism.

The Florida Civil Rights Association wrote a two-page letter to Mayor Dyer in which they pointed out that, “Not even during the height of the civil rights movement in the early 20th century was any peaceful demonstrators called terrorists.” (sic)

Mayor Dyer and the city of Orlando are supporting yet another illegitimate city ordinance which restricts the feeding of the hungry to twice per year per park.

I find it hard to believe that anyone could look at such an ordinance and see it as a just expression of a free and lawful democratic society.

The fact is that we live in a police state ruled by a criminal elite that operates in a fashion no different than the Mafia supported and protected by useful idiots in uniforms who are happy to destroy the American way of life and everything our country supposedly stands for.

We must realize that if we teach our children that it is not okay to peacefully resist all forms of tyranny, the future of our nation, and indeed the world, is not a bright one.
